Aww, Aurie, don't hate Valentine's day! *huggles* We all love you! Besides, Valentine's day is really supposed to be more about goodwill and love for each other as humans. The department stores just modified it because it's easier to manufacture dollar-a-dozen stuffed animals and resell them to desperate guys for $10.00 each so that the guys can give their girls something which really isn't that amazing in the first place. That being said:

Happy Valentine's Day!!

(Or if you're on the Catholic side of Christianity, happy Feast of St. Valentine.)

Which begs the question "What do the (presumably) angels, God, etc. eat on a feast day? Is there some heavenly buffet line? With Jesus around to split the bread and fish, it could be all you can eat..."

The Lion King is the only movie I've watched in Spanish. Well, no, I've seen others but they at least had subtitles to make up for our spanish incompetence. Heh, one time when I took world languages, my french teacher (I always think of her as my french teacher even though she taught french and spanish) let us watch wazzit called with English words, but Spanish subtitles. Needless to say, we completely ignored the subtitles.

I'm what, 5 pages into Dune? *huggles* I have no idea what it's about. 'Cept for the something something.

Poets came to my school. Was inspired. It was like POD's song, Youth of the Nation. About all of the real things in life. I remember last year we had yet another poet come in, but after every line I was wishing him to go up in flames. RAAHH.

Gryphon, Valentine's day is Feb. 14, I'm pretty sure. and the reason they call it a feast day...I'm not positve, but I think it's because in the Middle-Ages they used to celebrate famous saint days. St. Valentino was the founder of Valentine's day.

Aurora, I don't like Valentine's day either. Two of my 3 friends have boyfriends, so I feel left out, but at the same time I feel like everyone's so stupid. Ah, well, ir I did get a boyfriend, it would have to be from another school 'cause the boys around here are immature.

We had our honor roll assembly today. Gah. Teachers are stupid. They give awards out to people who don't deserve them. I was all depressed because I didn't make A honor roll, and no one clapped for me when I went up to get my certificate, and when they announced my name, someone said "Who?".

Later, this boy I hatehate came up to me and kept insulting me. I told you, boys at my school are so immature.

EDIT: I just came from movies topic. Check out Alla's link if you're a Star Wars fan. Star Wars Star Wars Star Wars!!! I LOOOVE Star Wars. One example of how crazy I am: I have the special DVD version of the original trilogy with an entire CD of special features, and my siblings and I stayed up past midnight to watch them, but we still didn't finish them all. I've watched the trailer for Episode III: Revenge of the Sith about five times. Two times by myself, and three with my bothers and sister; we were critiquing it and trying to get as much info as possible out of it.

My friend has a lot of movies in Spanish. She lived in Chile for awhile and now that she's back in America and mostly speaking English her mom usually only buys movies for her in Spanish. haha. I haven't actually watched them but some of the titles are amusing. I LOVE THE LION KING!!! but I can see how it would be ruined by watching it in Spanish.

Definitely the most amusing movies in Spanish though are Jaws and Chuckie!! True, they lose pretty much all their horror value, but it is too amusing for words!

There are heaps of others, just look for the links pages - especially on the second site. I'm getting kind of excited about ROTS now. I've been looking at a lot of Star Wars websites lately, trying to get ideas about making a costume. I've found the boots, and the pants that I want to use, and I have an idea about the material that I want to use for an outer tunic, but its $7.70 a metre, and so I'm going to do a couple of trial runs with some cheaper materials (i.e. old sheets ), but yeah.

Look at how bored I am getting with no school and nothing to do - I've never been interested in costumes from movies before ...

Anyway... I worked today - my boss had to go home sick, so she called me in so that there would be a couple of people who knew the store and what they were doing (our new 2IC is really new to the store and doesn't really know that much about it). We got to set the easter eggs up - and I don't think I want to see another one for .... hmmm lets say, about six hours.

I'm watching Dr. Who at the moment, but it will finish in about two minutes.

Hmmm... Bronty and Lucy are acting weird. Or Lucy is anyway, she keeps pacing, as if she is waiting for someone to come home.. hmmm...

My computer's acting up! It won't tell me what the most recent posts are. All it says is the most recent topics started. AND under "most recent posts by DD" it says the most recent topics again! And it says the same thing under "messages from the forum administrator". My computer definately has a virus. Very suspiciously, the button for "lost your password/new here but can't get in?" has been clicked and I didn't click it. Grrr...probably some sort of spyware.

There is a very good making-fun-of-valentine's-day comic called FoxTrot. It's about a genius boy in 5th grade and he hates Valentine's Day.

Today is one of my good days b/c I only have 1 class (Health) and it's not that bad. I also get to go to the grocery store with my roomie. I badly need some "snacks"...well, at least something I can take to work with me on Saturdays b/c I don't have a lunch break. I can't always count on the Caf having muffins in the morning...

It's going to be another nice day here. I heard it was going to get up in the 70s!! And in the middle of Feb. too...it's kinda weird. heheh I just imagined Alla's voice when I said weird...(and not the Irish accent either *ducks*)

Oh and BTW Lisa it's not just you, my comp is doing that too...must have something to do with changing the layout, I guess...
