Arrogant Worms is a comedy band, and they're pretty funny. I haven't heard them in a long time.

          • Okay, I realized I wasn't quite clear with my question about ff.net. I wasn't sure if it cost for a account, but I forgot to add this: Does it cost to post there?

In the day I was gone, you guys posted almost a whole page in this topic. Wow.

            Thanks for the huggles everybody!

            • Wow. lotsa posts to read. The following is an account of my first couple of days at Uni - for those who are interested.

I left the house at 6am on Monday morning, to catch the bus at 6:18am from the bus stop out the front of the housing estate where I live. The journey in was alright, as the stop where I get on is the third stop or so on the route into the city and there is never a problem of getting a seat. I listened to some music from Spot on the way in, and read a book, just to while away the time.

My first lecture for the year was maths - as most of you already know. The lecturer seems really nice and competent. She's just got back from a holiday in Canadia, and as such has a bit of an accent - I dunno whether she had it before or not or whatever. But yeah, she seems as though I won't fall asleep in her lectures, and most of the maths is new stuff, so I guess I will have to pay attention (Tui: All we did was a bit of an intro to what we are actually doing in the course. And we did a bit of a diagnostic quiz, nothing assessable - just so that each of us know where we're up to and what we have to revise).

The Earth Sciences lecturer is German - with a reasonably thick accent - nothing that isn't understandable, or for me anyway. That lecture was a little boring, and I suspect that most of the course will be too, as I've done it all before - and even out of the same text book too!!!

Then I had the introductory Physics lecture. The guy who is currently lecturing it is kinda funny. You know the PM sorta funny, with the lame puns and that , but yeah. It seems like it will be reasonable simple though. We don't even touch on the interesting stuff like relativity and quantum mechanics until the end of next semester in the companion subject.

Today was little better. Chemistry is going to be EASY!!! And probably boring too... and other than that (except for socialising stuff) I just had Physics - which was just looking at some of the maths that we need to know for it.

Ahh, now the socialising aspect of uni. This afternoon was the first meeting of the UQ Mediaeval Society. I was the first newbie to show up - and I am the youngest of the newbies - so no going into the Red Room (which is the campus pub) for a while. Oh well... After explaining about the different houses and that in the Realm of Lucia (where we 'live' - based on St. Lucia, the suburb where the university is situated) six or so of the oldbies headed into the pub, leaving like three oldbies and the four newbies in the meeting room (which is right next to the pub) attempting to make chainmaille. That was highly fun. I had to leave early, however, as mum seemed to be getting a little worried as to where I was. The people there seem like fun. They're into all the same sort of things that I am - movies and books wise .

So yes, if I do anything more interesting, I will post it at some stage or the other.

Rad, I can't chat with you when you're at work on Friday night, as I will be working. I know it sucks, but I'll try to get up a little earlier on Sunday morning, to try to make up for it - but I can't promise anything.

              Gotta go now... food time!

              • Miff. I still like linkin park.

I chatted with Bosco online last night. She mentioned her story, and I felt guilty because I didn't read it last time she e-mailed it to me. So I volunteered to edit it for her. XD It turned out to be 50+ pages in a word document so far. I played around with the settings, shrunk the font size, and got it at 33 pages. If I double side it, then it'll only be 17 pages on my printer. I like editing. I like editing friend's essays, at least. *groan* 50 pages of text...

So, how's everyone else feeling today?

I was watching a lot of birds fly around the bird feeder earlier. There was this small group of tiny birds, finches, I think, and then this huge army of larger black-colored birds swooped down and took over the tree. The little guys fled. We don't get that many squirrels, but it wouldn't be that hard for them to get to it. Not that high off the ground, and it's dangling from a short, scrawny tree. Sparkle tried to climb it once, and the branches could hardly support her weight.

                Alla:

*grins* PM wouldn't be the same without them...

                Your uni is neat.

                • *slapping self in head* I stayed up past 1:30 am last night because I thought we wouldn't have school. Grr. We only have a 2hr delay, so now I can barely open my eyes. This is what I'll look like in school today.

If you're wondering why I keep asking questions about ff.net, it's 'cause I came accross a page that said "fix a payment plan for your ff.net account" or something like that. I think it was only for added features...but you can never be too safe.

Anyhow, OMG Leah, that was SOOOO close last night. I was talking to Leah on her cell phone, and it was like 12:30 her time. Her mom walked in on her and when she hung up quick her mom called me back asking who I was. I just freaked out and hung up, not saying anything. But Leah e-mailed me later and said it was ok. *whew*

Sharky is really funny, so if you ever get a chance to download skype and you have a headset, talk to him sometime

She's in Australia . (Ok, I admit you'll have trouble finding a town in England where the pubs are more than about a quarter-mile* apart.)

                            * That's about 0.4km.

Why thank you! I try. To be funny, that is. I try lots of things in general, though. Like I tried fishing once. And I succeded in catching nothing.
