Garrett, who could ever make you feel like a newbie.
DameRuth, actually -- she was reading the books before I was. :-) I started with The Wounded Sky and My Enemy, My Ally *looks innocent*, and moved on to The Door into Fire and TDiShadow before finally getting to SYWtBaW and DW. I saw Diane speak at a con in Boston between that time and when HW came out -- besides the book, she told us all about this nice Irish boy she was going to marry. :-)

So, it's been a while sinceanyone has posted here, and I've noticed that there are some people here who recently joined and are kind of introducing themselves in other topics. *points at Sayosia*
So I thought that maybe some of the new members could introduce themselves here instead, thus using the introduction thread for what it's meant for.
Good idea wolfy.. I haven't got to hand out some virtual cookies in a long time!! What am I going to with all these cookies that keep piling up in my virtual kitchen?? Tell us about yourselves!!
Don't be shy.. we don't bite.
Time passes. Even when it seems impossible.
Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise.
It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me.

Well, Emi, what you said about biting isn't necesarily true. I can't advoid my nature for to long, and I do have a tendency to bite, but I don't do it to New Members. For the most pert. I tend to just go off into a corner and knaw on a deer bone or two. Anyway, I never got cookies. But I would be happy to give people some elk. or choclate. you get to decide.
Anyway, I am having a surplus of deer, and choclate (even aliens like choclate) so, please tell us about yourselves even if I bite you. (the biting might be to get you to talk, so it's probably safer just to.)
*hasn't been in here recently* Late hello to newbies everywhere (or at least here.) I'm Young Reader, and if you post at all, you're bound to run into me eventually. *tosses around kace, and kookies, guaranteed to make everyone insane*
And i think Sean is right. I know that Dai is die, for certain (though if you find yourself pronouncing it as day in your mind, you won't suffer from lack of compony) And i believe i've heard the other part as well..
Hope to see all of you that i've missed posting around the forum. (as stated earlier, if you go just about anywhere, i'm likely to post there at some point or another)
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
For those of you who don't recognize WHO'S back, I'll give you a hint, and I don't mean the typo's in my posts - YR.
I would like to offer you a bar of (European) chocolate, and a steak. (sorry if you don't like steak- but being a wolf I like to offer it any way...) anyway, you pronounce Dai like Die, and stiho like steeho. does that explain anything? I hope it helps, but if it doesn't, then I'm sure its in the books faq- but I'm to lazy to look it up right now. Anyway, welcome to the Forums, Zeal!
*Tosses out cookies* Welcome to the forums Zeal!! I hope you have fun around her just as much as the rest of us do!! If you pop by in the Topic of Great Randomness you'll probably see me there alot... Wolfy gave you the correct pronounciations though. Stiho is like Stee-oh. I think. *brain cramp* Well enjoy the cookies.
Oh and wolfy here's some extra for you because I just realized I never gave you any. *tear* sorry. *sniff* Don't eat me!

Um, actually stiho is pronounced stih-ho (short i, as in pig) I'm pretty sure that's what DD said Welcome to the forums and forgive my tendency to correct stuff *gobbles up cookies* Oops, sorry, didn't mean to eat them all

*hands out more* don't worry zeal. We don't really eat people. We all got together, and made the attempt to eat Sea once, since she has that nice avatar, and a few of us have been known to temporarily swollow you whole, but overall, we just can't stand the tast, so you should be fairly safe. :P
*turns into a dragon, and cooks everyone some steaks, so that there will be enough to go around, before shifting back to human form, and eating the cooked food*
as you can tell, however, we are all insane. Wouldn't recomend running though-the crazy disease loves giving chase to newbies. *grins*

Um, actually, it's "die stee-ho". It's in the Books FAQ, along with how to pronounce Dairine, Tualha, Wellakh, Nelaid, and Roshaun. Welcome to the boards! Hope you have a good time, here!
hmmm, well, YR, I wouldn't necesarily say that we (as in including me) don't eat people. I sometimes have been known to when they get on my nerves, but, you know- they taste REALLY bad, so i tend to just bite them... Thanks Emi! I like cookies anyway... i wouldn't eat you... I like cookies to much
So, Zeal, I hope you stay and have fun here without gettin TO insane... it's hard, I know, but you can try.
Kli, thanks for the reference on the books FAQ...
Just don't eat anyone i said you wouldn't, so i'm not a lyer, and i'll make sure you have all the meat and cookies you desire. :P(And i mean GOOD meat, not the bad tasting human stuff!)
*grabs a dining room table covered with food of the Tree of Plenty, and sets up a buffet* easier then this repeated sending out of treats. :P
Anyways, once more, welcome to all of you newbies.

At least part- dragons know what good meat is. Anyway... I didn't mean it threateningly, and i will try to advoid any other such occurances. *starts to eat from buffet* this meat is really quite good, although i think you could have cooked it a little rarer...
Well dai zeal, wellcome the forums. Here's your complimentary strait jacket. Um stay from the buffet table. And for pete's sake man whatever you do dont poke the dragon.
