• Alla, it doesn't work that way. You send Sheaffer a pen from the '40s and '50s, and they'll just ship you back a new pen. :-)

I fix them up myself, because that way, I can buy them cheap. Except, y'know, when I can't fix 'em.

Using vintage fountain pens is more fun than using modern ones, because modern ones are made to be office jewelry and just look good. Old pre-ballpoint fountain pens were made to write...

• Gahh... I haven't posted here in forever... sorry.

Yeah, I've got some pretty serious stuff going on around here...

...Apparently I have a precursor to anorexia or something...

Heh. And I'm still fat... I'm a failed anorexic.

But whatever. I'll stop talking now, because I'll get in trouble for this... posting this...

*shrug* Yeah. You guys know how to find me if you need.

Kli: Oh, ok.

Yay! Its Australia Day!!! . I'm actually doing something for it for once too! I'm heading into Southbank (the place where WorldExpo 88 was for anyone who is a)old enough to remember and b)who went) and pottering around there for an hour or so.
I'm also going to Bookfest today - I should probably think up some books to look for . You can find the strangest stuff in there, but its good for out of print stuff too

• AW, look at it this way, at least it's the pre-cursor, and not the thing itself. Still time to put the brakes on before the collision. And y'know, given my druthers, I'd far rather be a failed anorexic than an anorexic.

Alla--s'okay. I like fussing with old fountain pens. It's my hobby. And even though I suck at Snorkel repair, I managed to fix a Parker 61 (this involved rinsing. I swear. That's it), and a Waterman 52 with a flex stub nib. It's great for signing things. Lousy for writing, though.

Happy Australia Day!! Hope the bookhunting goes well!

Well, stay a failed anorexic! It gets to the point where an anorexic has no fat and burns muscle by excersising to get even slimmer. Anorexics have a lot of trouble getting out of it because the brain sets itself so that something is something something and something. Also, after awhile, they feel pride for turning down food and muscles become stiff to the point where they don't work. At all.

• Hey! This is my first post in the TOGR. Anyway, anorexia is BAD! We studied it in Girl Scouts, and there was this picture of someone where they were so thin you could probably put your hands around their waist. Good luck!

I'm also not in chats that much probably because the people at my school, (we have police officers come in,) are talking about cybering and crap. Not that I think that'll happen to me but...whatever.

I'm re-reading togr! Yes, again. Funfun.

NETSCAPE is EVIL. And so is IE.
But I got Firefox...finallyfinallyfinally.
It's WORSE.
Having the Shoutbox on top of the link to get into togr and the recent messages from the forum admin on top of the chat link and finding another chat link and not having it load at all and it hates flash too JKRowling.com wouldn't even load a little bit and having everything screwed up is BAD. • Hmm, if Alla posts flags on Australia Day, I suppose I ought to post flags on St George's Day.

Kathy - you changed your avatar! *gasp* I don't recognise you any more!

Artemis - I hope you're Ok.

BiW - aw, poor trapped kitty. silly poor trapped kitty.

Z - I can see your avatar, but I don't have the faintest idea what it is. Hmmm, in eleven years online I've never been in a chat where "cybering" is accepted.

WF - you're Penguin Woman again! Hmmm. Never mind JKRowling.com, did you try http://www.dianeduane.com/ in Firefox?

• PM - go right ahead and post Flags! i like flags they're cool

Kathy your new avatar is cool - I almost though you were a newbie until I read the name above it. What is it, btw?

Art: *buries under a mountain of hugs* Please be alright. I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say that you'll have the full support from all of us here throughout this time. *gives another mountain of hugs*

Z - I can't see your avi. Where have you got it hosted? I think (was it WF that mentioned it) that most people can usually see it if they're hosted on http://imageshack.us .

A virtual prize goes to the first person to name the movie that I saw this afternoon. I'm not giving any hints either .

WF: You're crazy. Although I guess that fits right in around here, but reading the TOGR TWICE. Sharky even seems sane in comparison to that!

Anyways... I must go. I have an essay to write - and it doesn't want to. I'm stuck. So cyas all tomorrow morning probably.

I wrote this on paper before I typed this up, but here:

The noise of tearing stretchable book covers is a satisfying sound. After a lot of tugging and struggling, I did finally manage to fit the cover over my oversized chemistry book, but even with the extra slack, the cover still pulled the book open. I can tolerate its stubborness for now; it's a nice shade of blue that reminds me of jet black inkwells (which I've never seen in my left, but nevermind.)

This one muscle in my neck hurts, and this time it wasn't my fault. Yesterday at karate, we were doing bunkhi (I need to find out how to spell these words). That is where you take apart a kata by move and see how you could apply it when fighting, I think. Of course you don't fight with an entire kata! What, it's not like your opponent waits for you to get to a relevent move or, even, for you to face them. So back to my story. We were seeing different ways in which nukete (again, spelling) could be used, and nukete is a bit that's in Heian Nidan and possibly other katas. I grabbed and twisted flesh above the hip, knife-handed a pressure point on the arm, and then grabbed a muscle in the neck. My partner did the same to me.

The muscle doesn't exactly hurt, but it feels weird. Meh. On the street, however, we'd do much more than just grab the muscle. We'd rip and tear, and that, being in the throat, is potentially lethal if not very painful.

• I had my first actual Karate class last night. Long story short, I dropped the class and my legs are so bloody sore today. Anyway, class got out early again today, that's why I'm here now. I'll be hanging around for awhile, TTYL.

P.S. is the pic in my siggy too big, or is it ok?
