You know, it's funny, I've been reading a lot of Emily dickinson poems lately. I can really relate to a lot of the things she says. Suure, she's a bit more morbid than I am, but I mean, she's got some great descriptions.
I just thought I should throw that in here somewehere XD
And here's just a little warning: I recently went to the beach, so I've got a lot of beah-influenced poems coming on here. I also did a poetry packet for school, so I've got a good one or two in there as well that do with the sea.

Until today I had not known
such meticulous friendship;
As I sat transformed -
essence out of form
as whisper our of word -
A red hard beauty
eyes wild attention grey,
hair wind itself,
essence no more than chalk-white sheels,
and she was more -
Elegance, Grace, sitting,
servant kissing her feet.
Can you guess what I'm talking about?
Ok, this one's a little weird, but it's based on a real experience I had at night by the waves. It scared the hell outta me and I don't know why!
(Untitled)
I had run with glee to the sight of the ocean
where the monstrous beast gazed with sleeping eyes
on my wondering countenance
The gulls flew away with no warning sound,
startled, as if by unseen phenomena --
started, as if by unforseen danger.
I stopped, out of breath, feet chilled, mind racing
with joy and startling empathy
for the lonely abused thing*
As I gazed upon the smiling moon
(who threw silver thread upon rolling cliff)
I was struck with a hefty blow:
fear! --
So as maniacle laughter ponded my ears,
my heart pounded in beat with Time,
and my feet beat the forgiving sands.
And I ran --- !
I stopped at the dunes, lookihng with wist
and I wish it, he, had known
the extent of the Sun....
And I will return.
* I couldn't decide whether this should be "thing" or "creature." Input is very much appreciated!
So, as you can see, these poems are really influenced by Emily. This is one I wrote directly for her!
"For Emily"
As I sat the honey rays
creeped across my face
caressing and smiling it
with dreadful consequences.
As I sat the wind
played with my hair:
to and fro, to and fro,
offering praise and friendship.
As I sat the gulls
mocked with laughing eyes
at pettiness,
boasting feathers
As I sat upon my throne
I pondered eternal beauty;
of souls departed and sould fled,
the two are as of starfish and whales.
And I think, what could cause such
destruction; beauty --
So, that one's a little weird.
Eggh..I'll be back, I have two more. But first, food shopping!!
