  • Hee. You being all squeeful is cute, Wolf. *follows you on Twitter*

I'm pretty much hiding in the house. My cousin lives less than a quarter of a mile from the Old Trafford football ground, and we can hear the United v. City match from here, with the doors and windows all closed and the blinds down!
Las Vegas Boulevard is jammed, and I'm in love...

    • Squee!!1!1! The author Herself is twittering you? Lucky!!!

(and yes, I know that the whole YW fanbase is lucky compared to other fanbases....you ever see JKR commenting on a HP forum? I love this site. twitter just seems so...conversational! ) It's enough to make me catch up with the times and start a twitter account. (right after I trade in my Model-T Ford...)

I need a sign like that for my room. That is so funny. Did you shove SYWTBAW into his hands??
So, the rain is gone here....but everything is still soggy. Actually, parts of our lawn have grown this black, tough slime that is totally gross. It feels like stiff snot. Yeah.

      Maybe it's an alien....and in that case, maybe I should talk to it! It looks weird enough to answer me back, anyway. :}

Dai stiho, black slime! Welcome to our planet, and please don't take over the world!

      • Ohmygooooshhh!!! SilveredBlue!! Get a twitter thing! Get a twitter thing! Stalk your favorite actors like I do with Wil Wheaton!! He and DD actually talk to each other! I have total fangirl meltdowns. ^_^

I think it's so amazing that DD pays attention to the forums. That by itself is just... wow. (Thought Truck just hit me: What if DD is on here, posing as one of us? AHHHH!!!!)

And your comment about aliens and slime somehow reminded me of Carmela and the fridge! "Hello Mr. Alien...!" and it turns out to be the poor leaky lettuce.

(DUDE. The line about "stiff slime" is SOOO not cool. Yechk!!! Grosssssssss)

Edits:: and... if your line about the Model T Ford wasn't sarcastic... I want pictures. Now.

        • Estar: The five-year-old girl...That must have been cute! There was a 7-ish year old girl in Panera that was looking at me like she was either scared, worried, or weirded-out. XD

Wolf: Haha, it's cool that DD is twittering with you! And wow that's awesome about the guy's office! How did you not start ranting about DD and YW? That was pretty much the perfect opportunity! Are you going to go talk to him again soon? (Please? Pretty please? We want to increase the fanbase, do we not?)

Also, when DD is on the forums, she does have her own account... I've seen her post here several times. For some reason her avatar always reminds me of Velma (from Scooby-Doo). I think it's the same one she uses on Twitter.

SilveredBlue: I'm with Wolf about that Model-T...

O_O So many posts! It's only been a couple of days -- not even that! -- since I've been on the forums! I mean, it's good that people are posting and everything, but seriously! :P Haha, I think I say this every time I come on to see that It's not even possible to catch up...

I'm in New Jersey! It's a fun place... People laugh when I say that, but it is! There are diners! And the places here have real food, like liverwurst sandwiches, and hoagies, and soft pretzels, and cheese steaks, and TakABoost (it's a soda)! And there's quite an amazing thrift store here (which Wolf should know about, darn her :P), and it's been a fun day. I've been helping to scrub and clean out my grandmother's house, and it feels nice to make things look new-ish and shiny. (This house was built right around when my mom was born, and it hasn't really ever had a deep cleaning, so it really makes a difference.)

And now, I've got the song "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" stuck in my head because my aunt and grandmother were talking about camping in Yosemite... (Please, please, somebody else understand why that happened, so I don't just sit here and feel awkward because everyone's looking at me like 0_o...)
          Dif-tor heh smusma.

No, sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about, because the Star Trek movies skipped straight from 4 to 6 with nothing between them. :-)

            • Nope, no Model-T. Sorry to disappoint- lol.

Hoagies? Cheese steaks? TakABoost? wow. Fun!

Garrett: Skipped...4...to...6? I'm 99.9% sure that that is a joke, and 100% sure that I don't get it. *blushes*

I'm sadly behind on Star Trekkie stuff...didn't even know it really exsisted till I joined the YW forums! ....as I've said before. This time, though, it's an excuse....

Ohmygosh. It just MAKES my DAY when she replies. And she practically gave me a spoiler! DD! DD herself practically gave me a spoiler!!! (Why on earth do we not have a dancing smiliey?) As for the guy... he was like, in his mid-60's, and didn't look like the YW type (O_O) but I did drop a hint about the book- he didn't react to it, so I didn't press on. But stiiiilll... uber coolness.

Whoo! I can't believe you're so close and yet so far away! Gosh-darn college... *grumbles.* Hahaaa.... I love how we have "real food" and then you name liverwurst... which I hate, and my dad loves. Hehee. I don't remember the last time I went to a thrift store, but ok, we'll go, we'll go! LOL. I still think you're crazy for thinking cleaning is fun. Then again, if entropy is leaving the mess on the floor, you might be in league with the LP- which I would totally tease you about if I didn't lurve you so much.

As for your Row-Row-Row-Your-Boat joke, I'm not sure I get it. O_o
I'd go with Garrett and SilveredBlue on this one, but I think I just missed a Star Trek joke. Are we talking Original Series here? Cuz I'm more TNG, and I think I've just been out-Trekkie'd.

No! No! Nonononononoooo! I am very, very disappointed in you! Of course, I'm saying "very" with my tounge hitting the roof of my mouth, so it sounds like, "fed-ddy" and a very bad Freud impression, so you know I'm not actually mad. But maybe just a little. Ahh! How can you "not know it really existed" ?! Bubble-child, much? Where's my crazy-nutso smiliey...

Be glad you don't get it. :-)

When my wife and I went to see X-Men at the Cinerama in Seattle, the trailer for the umpteenth Highlander movie was playing before it. I got a big laugh at the end when I yelled out "Highlander: There should have been only one!"

                  • Trialia: Football = soccer, United = Manchester United, and City = Manchester City, right? My brother is a major soccer/football nut, so I've kind of unwillingly picked stuff up, even though I loath sports with a searing passion...

Football = football, but yes, Manchester United v. Manchester City. It's where I live, and the cousin I'm temporarily staying with lives right behind the Stretford end of the ground.

So we were walking down the sidewalk to the bus stop, him in clashing stripes and spiky purple hair, and me in a pioneer dress and bonnet. And Nikes.

haha, I think I know where you live estar! Or at least where you went to Elementary School. There is only one place that I know of that celebrates Pioneer Day.

Edit: Scratch that. I googled it and apparently there are a few places that celebrate Pioneer Day. :-P

Oh and apparently there's some facebook thing going on where you change your profile picture to that of a celebrity that looks like you. Does anyone know where I can find a website that does that that ISN'T heritage.com? Cuz I am NOT downloading anything. Or you could just tell me which celebrity YOU think I look like.. this is one weird facebook craze I actually think is cool. When I was a few years younger, my friend Jamie said she thought I kinda looked like Arwen or Galadriel from Lord of the Rings... ^_^

Which of course could start up a whole new topic... which celebrity do you guys think you look like???

*knocks encyclopedia away with my dragon-drawing encyclopedia* Because I was totally obssessed with dragons! I drew them, doodled them, bought plastic figurines and 3-D wooden models, and even made one out of gold-colored wire, hung it from the ceiling, and called it Glaedr.

...Uh....sorta. A bubble of my own making, though. I walked around in my own personal dreamworld when I was younger- positively antisocial. (And I'm the opposite now. )

lol, sorry Wolf. Okay, I'll explain a bit. I live in Utah, on July 24th we celebrate what we call "Pioneer Day". It's the day that the first group of pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley, (in 1847, I believe) which is what became Salt Lake City, the state capitol. There are usually parades and fireworks, a lot of cities will have carnivals. It's not uncommon to see different schools or cities perform plays based on the stories of the early settlers. Other states celebrate what they call "Pioneer day" but it's a different holiday.
Well there is your history lesson for the day. lol

Oh and for you trekkies, (or trekkers, which according to my coworker that is what they prefer to be called now) what did you think of the new Star Trek movie?
