• Yay, I got to see the movie earlier than I had expected! It was pretty good, I guess. I liked Luna; she did very well with the airy sort of persona. The thestrals were neat too, I like that scene in the forest with them, that was neat. The baby thestral was cute in a grim way All in all, Hollywood did pretty well with portraying the book, just a few differences, but those were pretty much necessary...

• I do think that the actress that played Luna was too pretty. I have nothing against prettiness because I enjoy being pretty myself thank you very much. But I thought in the book she wasn't supposed to be that way. And the actress that played Cho could have been prettier. Also Harry's dad looked like a nerd. I hate that the movie didn't include the portrait of Sirius mother though. I was looking forward to it. The graphics, choreography, and other special effects were awesome though. I would go see the movie again. I might even get it on DVD when it comes out. You never know.

• I think Hollywood did a marvelous job taking an 800-something page book and condensing it into a 2 hour long movie, cutting the right things to make the story flow, and knowing exactly what needed to stay in. I absolutely loved Imelda Staunton as Prof. Umbridge. She was so perfectly awful, really sickly-sweet, exactly how I imagined her. I loved how her entire office meowed. That was great. And Luna was pretty good. I think she was pretty, but in a more unconventional way. And I loved the scene in the forest with her and Harry. It was really good.

My only complaint is at the end, when Umbrige asks Snape for Veritaserum, and he says they used the last of it interogatting Cho Chang. That bugged me so much because it leaves an opening for them to not be angry at each other and get back together, which shouldn't have been there, because he needs to get with Ginny in Half-Blood Prince.

and as for cho, the reason they broke up was not because of dumbledore's army...it was because she wasn't over cedric. if you rember, in the book, it was cho's FRIEND who betrayed them...not cho. some minor anger might have come up when cho said certain things about hermione, and harry about cho's friend...but it wasn't exactly the entire reason for the breakup. the story still works. (and anyways, it wouldn't be in cho's character to betray harry of her own free will. they NEEDED to say why she had done it...)_

I wonder why they changed it in the movie though. I mean we know in the book it was her friend. I mean even if the story wasn't affected too badly I still was a little irritated because that wasn't what was in the book.

I can't wait until midnight on Friday!!!!

• I'm not sure why they changed it...i suppose they just didn't feel liek going into all those details, and wanted to make the story shorter...they took quite a few things out, and changed them, but nothing to really compromise the story.

• i kind of liked it better in the movie than the book. with cho betraying it instead. but i really wish cho would have broken out in the hex. some things they added. like when in the book did Sirius ever say: "and then we'll be a family again"? but i really like that they added that. there was also something hermione said when they were sitting in the common room talking about someting. i thought that added a nice effect. i can't remember it now but i remember i liked it. grawp was cool to. it was really funny when hermione got all harsh with him and made him put her down. i think it was the best one since the chamber of secrets, and that's saying something because i disliked both the book and the movie for it. just because of the plost and some off the things in it. sorry to go back a bit but i thought the actress for luna was perfect. yeah she might have been a little to pretty but her voice and her eyes were perfect for the part. all calm and relaxed.

• oh there were fireworks, alright. *grins* and trust me: the movie was wonderous. there WERE changes, some of which people are of course not going to like, but as movies go, this was one of the best...*LOVED the movie* i recomend people to see it. :P anyways, if you DON"T see it, it might not be as fun seeing the remaining movies.

• My mommy promised me that we would buy the book today; we didn't preorder it because last time we did that I had to wait 5 days for it in the mail, during which time I had to listen to all my friends' "OMG it's so awesome" comments and walked past it every time we went to HEB (our grocery store had the HBP in stock, can you believe it? the grocery store!)So now we're just going to HEB and hope they're selling DH this time too!

Edit on next day:
Wow, can't believe no one else has posted. Just finished the book and wow, was it good I cried so much! I loved the epilogue, and naming the kids after the characters, so sweet. Definitely my favorite book, though I'm not entirely sure why...okay, I'm going to stop babbling now...*blows nose*

I read it in like 14 hours (I kept jumping up and down out of pure nervousness, lots of wasted time).

I cried...I hadn't cried in ages... Hmm..better not say anything 'till this is declared SPOILER AREA in the title of the thread.

• *Has read book twice* Wait, weren't we supposed to find out what dudley saw when he was attacked by dementors? I didn't find out. How long is everyone's copy? Mine is 607 pages, but it said online that it was a 749 page book. I'm worried that their may have been a printing mistake and I missed a chapter or something?!
