I enjoy her books, too. I started reading them when only the Lioness books were out, but I've found my way to most of the others since. Most recently, I read The Will of The Empress, followed by books 1,2,3,5,6,7,8, and 4 (yes, in that order, unfortunately). I also read Protector of the Small before The Immortals, which left me at something of a loss. :-)

Our Public Library banned one of her books after someone wrote out an entire page from it in it in spray paint on the wall

I have read ALL of her books. ALL. I have actually read them all at least (no exaderation) 8 times each. I love the Protector of the Small books, especially the Glaive. I am actually in the process of making one reight now. MWAAAA!!I have to say though,my personality matches the lioness's. A toung so sharp that I need no sword. Although I do relate to Aly pretty well. I lied earlier. I have read all but the newest book, which I plan to buy within the week.

sorry. i don't remember any titles. someone should be able to tell you. My suggestion is to try to find the first one that she wrote. The publication date will tell you.I can create a world, out of letters and words. I can make you believe something in a paragraph. I can make you love someone in a page. Depends which series of hers you want to read. I fyou wnat to read the tortallan series, I'd suggest the Lioness Quartet, starting with Alanna: The First Adventure, then go onto the Immortals Quartet and then Prtector of the Small Quartet. If you want to read The Circle of Magic Series, Start with The Circle Opens Quartet, the First in that, I believe, is Sandry's Book. I read all of her books soooo many times, one of my all-time favorite authors (besides DD of course)

Well, back to what books to read...Start with Wild Magic. Read that searies, and than go on to The Lioness Quartet, than Protector of the Small. After that, you should read The Circle of Magic, followed by The Circle Opens, and later The Will of The Emperess. Either now, or after the Protector of the Small series, you should read Tricksters Choice, and than Tricksters Queen. The reason for this order is so that you understand everything, and so you have intrest in the book that you are reading. Now, if you are a boy, It is a different story. DO NOT READ THE LIONESS OR PROTECTOR BOOKS,OR THE TRICKSTER ONES, fOR THAT MATTER.
ALSO THINK ABOUT READING THE WILD MAGIC BOOKS.
This is because of content not suitable for the male eye. Oh, and if you are young, ask your parents first.Need help with homework, E-Mail me @ elizabeth1ofengland@yahoo.com I am ALWAYS bored!! Or, if u want a brief lesson on Tudor era Monarchy.

However, Makdragon has a pretty close list to what I'd suggest, but I just wanted to note the first quartet in the Circle Universe is Circle of Magic, which does start with Sandry's Book.
So to make the answer simple, start with Circle of Magic: Sandry's Book or Alanna: The First Adventure.~~~~~~~~

I also like Tamora Peirce, but I haven't had the chance to read all that I would like to... I've read the Circle of Magic set, the first two of the Circle Opens, and the first one of Protector of the Small."My paw raised is Their paw on the neck of the Serpent, now and always..." ~Book of Night with Moon

Oh wow, I used to be nuts about Tamora. =D I even bought her "Wild Magic" quartet. Still have it, in fact. I remember being really psyched when I saw that one of her characters had the name Kuri, which was similar to my own screen name at the time. (Kurichan) I probably need to reread her old stuff and get some of her newer things - it's been absolute ages since I last read anything by her, and I don't really remember the stuff I already have read. The Dead Robots' Society - A podcast for writers, by writers

Eric: have you read the FAQs? You know the one that asks you not to post one-liners, because DD Herself pays for the bandwidth that these boards use. I dunno if you've noticed, but the last three of the posts that I've read posted by you have been one line... The FAQs are over here. You might want to have a read of number 3.
I would strongly suggest reading them in the chronological order - Start with Alanna: The First Adventure, and progress through the Tortall books from there (Song of the Lioness followed by Wild Magic, followed by Protector of the Small, followed by Daughter of the Lioness (the Trickster books)), and then move onto the ones set in the Circle Universe. I have known people to start with the Immortals quartet however. I think it makes a bit more sense to read them in that order. Oh, and her latest ones - the Provost's Dog books can fit in anywhere along there, as they are set before Song of the Lioness. That being said, it would probably make a little more sense if you knew who George and Eleni Cooper are before you read Terrier.
After that, why not try reading them in another language... German is fun

YES! I loved Beka Cooper, and that book has me wanting Bloodhound. Terrier was an amazing book, and Beka is the perfect role model for girls that want to be strong.Magic exists everywhere you look because you choose to see it. Magic exists inside of me because I welcome it. Magic and energy are one and the same. Energy and magic will always exist.

I LOVE all of the Tamora Pierce books! I have read every book she has written several times. I don't really have a favorite book or series but I have to say I like the world of that the Lioness books take place in better than the Circle books' world. That reminds me, Has anyone read The Will of the Empress? It takes place when Sandry, Brair, Tris, and Daja are 18.
I started reading Tamora Pierce when I was 9.Last edited by Daisy; January 22, 2009, 02:03:11 PM.Ars longa, vita brevis
