It's as good as the weekend, and I HAVE NO HOMEWORK!! My life is AWESOME!!!

    Wiz:
Gryphy: I agree that teachers don`t teach. >_< They are so minons of the Lone Power.
Actually that was just for a couple of my teachers. I've had some awesome ones before. They're human too, y'know. Just, you have to wonder about the Spanglish teacher.

    Wiz also says:
kaiba4ever: What`s so bad about math tests? They tell you how well you can do math.
If you seriously want to look at it -- *squee* It's Cirlce! -- like that, but... not really. It doesn't say that. Because every teacher is different, therefore every test is different, and eveyone learns differently. So. A failure grade can reflect the teacher, not a student.

Sub again. He came over to our table while we were working on vocab and questioned about E's lack-of-book. Chem teacher never gave her a book because she came into the class a few weeks late, and when I finished my vocab, I gave her mine. E suggested that he kill (...) the teacher, and he replied that it wasn't PC to joke about killing someone anymore. E: "What's PC?" S: "Politically correct." And from there, the conversation went onto politics.

    Fox:
WOW 422 pages! This topic has grown so much and Ive not been on this topic for months!!!! Oh well *Has a quick look around at the comments*, Hey I was on DD's site yesterday and I did not see anything about her Brithday. Mind you I think that was first thing in the morning Well Done PM for finding out! I will go onto the blog now and post my congrates
Where you here for the 400th page? 500 is insane, and we're nearly a fourth of the way there (from 400). Half of a thousand.

    • Sweat Monkey, or, the girl formerly known as Mato:
Well, that's prob'ly one of the worst test grades I've made this year.
      Kill you.

      So, sorry I haven't posted in a few days...I've thought about it...but didn't.

So...When did I last post? The fifteenth? That was...Sunday? ish?

      So...let's see...Monday...can't remember...

Tuesday: Went to school early with mah bass to practice for chapel. Learn I have to play 2 solos. Beautiful. Lost all of my History project due to crappy school comps. Speech and forms for class officer elections are due. I decide not to run for Treasurer. A (complete ditz...have I told you about her? The 'Why do they call them corndogs?' or 'Who's Bon Jovi?' or 'Illegal immigrants don't harm the economy, besides the fact that they're illegal?' incidents?) decided to run for president. She is about the same height as me (a wittle itty bitty bit lower) on the social ladder as I. Not feasable. I convinced C to run...she's uber-popular..I'm voting for her...wait I think I already said all this...sorry. I decide that I am 'running' for Supreme Annihilistic Dictator. Heh heh. Algebra I test.

Thursday: Chapel...start playing solo at wrong time...whatever. I have to do some homework... Algebra I final was today...hm. My final for Intro. to Chemistry and Physics is tomorrow...

Wednesday: Uh...History project is due. Thankfully, I didn't go that day. My project left much to be desired. Happy (Belated now) Birthday to Ms. Duane.

      I'm gonna go now...oodletoo.

Oh yeah...I've been playing the Sims 2 University...it's fun...I make Sims for all of my friends...it's so much fun manipulating everyone's lives... They look and act just like them...hee hee...*maniacal laughter* ANGEL DOUBTED MY PRONOUNCIATION OF MY WORD!!!

      Ok, bye-bye! I'm really leaving! (hah...from PotO)

      • Ok, with the whole half a million pages thing...we all seriously need to get a life. I'm not kidding. We've spent almost five hundred pages talking about...what? Nothing? Complete randomness? And some of us have read almost five hundred pages of pretty much nothing. How sad are we? But then again, having no life is kinda fun. So here's a completely weird random song that I'd like to post. Just click the luvverly link and you shall see the lyrics to EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS WRONG!
        http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/weird...owiswrong.html
Also, wish me luck. I'm singing in our school concert/variety show/dealie thing with one of my best friends. It's the first time I've ever actually sang by myself in front of people, so I'm hoping I won't completely mess up and look stupid.

        • Welcome to the weird wonderful world of wacky Australian winter weather! I'm your host for this report of... wait for it... a snowstorm! well, sort of, not really... would you believe a light snow shower over selected areas of Brisbane City and the northern suburbs? Ok, so it was a hail storm, but there was so much of it that it actually looks like snow!!! Last night, a storm pretty much came up out of no where and dumped 6 inches plus in hail over some areas of Brisbane City. Some areas got buried under 50cms worth! The reason I mentioned snow at the beginning of this, is that it wasn't large chunks of ice, but rather smaller, half pea sized ones, and in quite a few places it has built itself up into banks of what _really_ looks like snow. (and before any of you ask how I know what snow looks like, living in a subtropical climate as I do, I have been to the Australian snowfields down south of where I am)

So yeah. There's forecast for another storm tonight, but its really freaky. These storms are like totally out of season...

          • Not good at tests?? I don't want to sound critical, but, SHUT UP! You just said that your lowest grade was 89%!! Tell your mom that an 89% is a perfectly AWSOME score. And if it's your WORST test score over the course of a whole year... that's literally unbelievable! I'm envious.
Weeellll, one of the worst in algebra, in any case. I'll just say that I stress over tests, irritating my friends. *sigh* Lovey knows what I'm talking about here.

All hail the Supreme Annihilistic Dictator!

It's storming here, so I prob'ly shouldn't be on the computer. Oh, who cares... Toodles for now!

              • Happy belated birthday, DD! (Heh, yesterday I was going to post, but it was late enough that the clock would've shown it as being posted today, and when it's that late at night I don't make sense at all, and probably would've ended up wishing my cat a happy birthday.)

Speaking of cats... the cat that was up in the tree is now our cat. Her owners moved and left her here, so our neighbor brought her over to our house the other day. We've named her Mel. She's a kinda tabby/tortoiseshell mix.

I'm listening to Nightwish... Rad linked to a Nightwish site in chat, and now she's got me liking them too.

Current rant: quotes... more specifically, people who use quotes without saying what they're from.
I used to be on a forum that didn't have anything to do with books, but there were a lot of book quotes in siggies. I was on for a little while today, and scrolling down one page, half the people had Harry Potter quotes. One from the books, saying it was from HP, but not mentioning JKR. One that did credit JKR, but it turned out to be a quote that was only in the movies. One from the books, crediting a character from the HP books, but not the books themsleves or JKR. The rest crediting no one.
It's mostly HP that has the problem, because so many people read it, but I've seen quotes from a lot of other movies and books not crediting anyone. Oh, and lyrics. Lots of lyrics, without saying the song or who wrote it. *bangs head on desk* </pointless rant>

Hmm... I like charcoal pencils. I had one with me the other day, and I was randomly drawing stuff on my arms... I ended up with the Chinese symbols for Moon and Fire on one arm, and Beginning on the other.

                Tests? *groans* not fun.
Still waiting for the results for my Latin test. The teacher's going to email them, and I took the test a couple weeks ago. Used to get them within a week, but it's probably my handwriting. I write really tiny, and really messily. And I had a half a page of memory work for extra credit on the back, because I'm going to need it. Roman history section was long this time, and I'm not good at that at all.

Not so mad at the library right now... I got most of the books I was mad at them for not having, anyway. They got in three of my requests the other day (one of which was a book it took them a few years to get), and I bought some other things they won't get for another couple years.

                Gryph:
500 is insane, and we're nearly a fourth of the way there (from 400). Half of a thousand.
*nods* insane... I wonder how long this thing's gonna get? If it doesn't collapse/get deleted/get closed to start a new one, it could go on forever...

Lisa: to avoid starting an argument in the 'Movies' thread, I beg to differ with you about Anakin. I don't hate him - not out and out hate him anyway. I actually feel sorry for him, <span class="ev_code_white">because really he did it all for his love of Padme and that he didn't want to lose her. The only thing I hate him for is what he did to the younglings... I still can't think about that without getting emotional.</span>

so yeah. I do wish he had just been out and out evil from the start though... seeing him turn from being a hero was probably the deepest thing emotion wise that I have ever seen in a Star Wars movie...

                  Yeah.. so...

W00t!! I'm home alone for the weekend. Anyone want to come around for a party? Tomorrow night (or saturday night my time anyway. All are welcome

I don't hate him either. The one I hate is that lying, scheming, manipulating jerk Palpatine. He's so messed up. *twitch* When he was talking to Anaking in the opera house (the place with the swirly lights and weird noises) and twisting Anakin's weakness to his own profit, I was almost screaming in rage.

I also hate Darth Vader. No, he and Anakin are not the same person. The little boy in the first movie is Annie. The teenager in the second in Anakin. But that monstrosity at the end of Episode III is not the same. There's been a change in him that causes him to be evil, to want power. There are lyrics from Wicked (which is remarkably parallel to Star Wars--there's at least one other song that mirrors the plot of the movies) that go "...I can't want it anymore./ Something has changed withing me/ Something is not the same/ I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game." That's what happens. His world changes, and in order to keep it from changing, to keep him from having to "let go of the things you fear to lose" (Yoda), he needs power to force things his way.

(I really tried not to make that spoiler-type material. If I failed, go ahead and edit it.)

Wildflower/libraries: My library is pretty cool about having the books. It's just that we don't ever have them IN the library. They're checked out, or unshelved, or plain lost. Advertisement from Lisa, Library Wondergirl: Is there a volunteer program at your library? What about a Teen Advisory Board? If you don't know, you should find out. Volunteering can be fun, especially when you get older (yeah...all I do now is organize the JPs and JRs [Junior Picture books and Junior Readers] but when you get older, you can sort the JFIC [books with actual small print]). It's an easy thing to do if you need hours of community service for a class. I myself already have over 40 hours of service! The Teen Boards are fun too, even more so than volunteering. At my library, the Teen Board members are allowed to go in the back and check out books that haven't been shelved yet because they're so new. I got the Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith book that way. SO go to your public library today, and see what programs are available for teens!

                        Yeah...I'm different...so what?

Cress, those song lyrics are...different. (Refer to comment just above.) But they're funny! And different isn't bad!

Hmm...I was so hyper during English today. We had a party (which I forgot to bring in stuff for) because all of our class turned in our essays on time. We had Starbursts, and cookies, and sodaaaa. Yummm...soda...

                              • I'M GETTING A HAIRCUT TODAY!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!!!!! I'm sorry, just really excited, since I've had all of one haircut in the past...three years I think.
Only eight more days of school. I so can't wait. This year cannot end fast enough. We had THREE tests yesterday, and technically our teachers aren't supposed to be allowed to do that, since we don't have finals yet. And we have to do two tests in LA, plus a final project for Romeo and Juliet worth 100 points (equivalent of a test) plus all the journals etc. from R and J, also worth 100 points. It's CRAZY! And the final project is HUGE. We have to stage a scene from the play, but not just like a little bitty staging, like full blocking and costumes and everything, plus do a whole bunch of character analysis etc. In four days. And we have to "translate" our scene into plain English. SHAKESPEARE IS PLAIN ENGLISH! When will people get that through their heads? It's just English, it's really not that horribly difficult to understand except for the stuff with references to customs that they had that we don't (eg-women walking next to the walls so that they won't get chamberpots emptied on them). Other than a few bits like that, it's completely plain, and the main reason to read Shakespeare is for the language, so "translating" it, ruins the entire thing. Uberly not cool. And I'm majorly stressing now over English, because we have to do not test final stuff. I like tests. I generally do really well on them.
And yes, the lyrics were crazy. I'll post one of my favoritest favorites songs ever. Whenever anything goes wrong I start singing this song. Or if anyone mentions anything about shopping. So enjoy, it's very fun. And just so that everyone knows, it is a sarcastic song. They don't actually mean this.
