    PM:
Gryphon: Well, the stag is still in it. Apparently people who haven't read the book like the film better, as they literally don't know what they're missing.
Oh good. *glares at Fox* It's all your fault! :P ((I'm just kidding!!))

Well, if it felt rushed, you can't really complain. Books => movies, naw. It's hard to squeeze a long text into a "short movie." Though I wouldn't call 2h30m, it's too short for a book. So... look for the things the producers slipped in? They added some key things evidentally.

But... no explanations. I can live. I know what's going on.

I really want to see it! But it looks like my chance to go to the movie will be delayed.
Gigo: Hey, it's the person who puts 'asian' in 'caucasian'. Hi, Gryph. | | | wildflower: Hmm... should I side with "Gryph is more insane" based on conclusive evidence, or "Sharky is more insane" based on tradition? | | | [url="http://mariposa-mentiro

There is MAYBE one explaination for the lack of explaination...
Maybe something crucial happens in those explainations that would be too obvious in movie format. I mean, it would have added, what? 10 minutes. That doesn't seem like such a bit deal. Maybe they're hiding something...

And I did notice that they did a nice job highlighting that Harry has his mother's eyes (this will supposedly play a large part in books 6 and 7)

So, did they leave so much out that it isn't worth seeing? 'Cause I was planning on it sometimes this week...

I thought it was OK, and I'll probably get the DVD whenever it comes out (November/December, I'd guess). Yes, there are bits left out, but if you'd notice them, you already know them, don't you?

Oh, and the Lego figures have changed from the normal yellow skin colour to pink *gasp* and the uniforms have changed. (They changed in the film, too - most obviously in the robes.)

I like Cuaron's version of Hogwarts, and (I think I said this before) he's better at atmosphere than Columbus was.

Columbus was an executive producer on PoA, but apparently won't be involved in GoF at all.

It's worth seeing. It's very very good. You just need to realize going in that it isn't going to be exactly the same. Plus M just gave in some. ::giggles:: You just can't except the same. Which has been said enough.

lol. I loved that part.... it was funny, weren't the <span class="ev_code_WHITE">spiders telling him to tap dance or something?</span> Yeah... it was definitly worth seeing, in my opinion at least...

PM: I have a friend who constantly subjects me to a ten-minute diatribe on why the Lego people color change is just WRONG (I pay him back by making him listen to me talk about fountain pens ). Strange as it may seem, there actually are people who care about these things.

Ok, someone tell me something, [spoiler: <span class="ev_code_white"> when they're busting Sirius out of the rooftop cell, why, if they need to be stealthy, is Hermione using an exploding spell instead of "alohamora"?</span>]

Kli... I was also very curious about that one, but I suppose that <span class="ev_code_WHITE">'alohamora' has been used before, and heaven forbid they use it again.</span> On the other hand... it could be one of the secrets that appear in book 6 or 7. Hmmm.... more things to ponder.

Doesn't seem to make sense. Maybe it's like that other lock they find that's been guarded against Alohomora. The other option is that the explosion just looked cooler on film, and fit the mood.

And seemed to be quick too.

And I have to say, I wasn't expecting it... kinda cool.

No Legos in the HP movie... but with every HP movie, more HP character Lego sets are released... in my opinion, they are more popular than the dolls and action figures.

And I like them better... of course, my boys LOVE Lego anything. Like to build it once and then it goes into the ever-growing Lego bucket, where it gets lost in the mass.

hey, there is a MAJOR blooper on Harry Potter 3. You know on hte begginning, Harry is practicing "Lumos Maxima" below the sheets, right? Well, students CANT do magic outside Hogwarts! What is that?
