You could have a subconscious fear of your father. Or you could be seeing some weird vision from the future about yourself finding the secret of time travel...besides that, I have no idea! *is amused at self* Funny, usually I have a better translation for most dreams besides my own.

This was a really long time ago, I think I was in elementary school and I am almost positive it was not because of wizard of oz (only seen movie once - a long time ago - I think)
I was in my hall, and my sister and parents were up. We were looking for the evil witch of the west, who we knew was hiding somewhere. Then I started to go downstars, I saw an extra wall, blocking a chair from view. I called Elsa (a wonderful, sweet dog who was also there) to me (she ran over, got to the stairs), but then (I was now past the wall, facing the chair) the chair turned around and she stood up. She did something and (I was now looking at myself, I think) I fell to the ground (in the way you sometimes see in movies - with a spin) covered in green light. I remember that it hurt, and when I woke up it still did.
Sorry for rambling - it was awhile ago and there was probably more to it - I keep remembering things at different times.

it might have been inspired by wizard of oz, anyways, but it doesn't neccesarily have anything to do with wizard of oz. Dreams sometimes latch onto things that we've seen recently, or happen to have thought about, as a means to convey whatever they are trying to say.I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

I had a dream, about my aunt and uncle and their son sitting on their couch in their house and they were watching yellow submarine, you know, that Beatles movie. Anyways, the dream went on to me walking and looking at the T.V screen and seeing the show.
When I woke up the next morning i remembered it and then three hours later I went to visit their house and they were all siting on the couch watching the same movie. When I walked over to the T.v it was the same thing as in the dream....

Deja Vu!! That happens sometimes...less often to me than it used to, though.
I know it happens to my friends a lot, though. In dreams I read books that I have never read before, and then after waking up, I read the actual book. Then I get a case of Deja Vu when I recognize something from the dream.Dif-tor heh smusma.

Many people go through that. Some of the dreams being a lot more complex, such as playing with something that has suffered damage it has not yet suffered in real life, while a particular person is doing something near you, and the tv is on a particular episode of a tv show that you never watch. ANd then they come true..
The mind is supposed to have a lot of untapped potential. Who knows what part of that potential is unlocked while we dream? what parts of the mind are activated while we sleep? or, if there's a dream world of sort, who knows how time works there? :P If time doesn't really exist, then who's to say you can't travel to the future and recieve memories from than, in order to create new dreams? Who's to say what can or can't be done? We have little to no knowledge of our mind's capabilties...I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

I had a weird dream about vikings...I think. It was either vikings or the Tuatha de Danann. My Sunday school class was going into battle with them against Balor. The battle was being held on a run down golf course, of all things, and all the Fomori were there too. It was weird, but I've had weirder dreams...Dif-tor heh smusma.

I just had a freaky dream!! Last Saturday night, when I was at my grandfather's.
Well, because it was two nights ago it's kind of faint, but.... I had a dream (well, it's actually a nightmare, considering it's "Freaky (lucid?)") that there was this random guy at my house with a gun.... And he was going to shoot my mother and I.... I kept trying to lock the door, but the knob kept unlocking itself, and it was all flimsy and weird.... Every time the lock failed, the gunman didn't come in to the house. This made it unbearable; I kept on struggling to get the door secured. Finally I yelled across the house asking my mom if anyone had called 911 yet. She said no, and I ran to the portable phone, and my fingers were trembling on the keys.... I dialed the wrong thing.... Then I woke up. And then I started hearing this really weird noise coming somewhere from outside my grandfather's house... I had no idea what it was. Between the nightmare and the noise it took me about 45 minutes to get to sleep.... I was really tired yesterday."...Some of growing up is the knitting together of our cognitive webs, and some things take time and experience to make sense...." - Taran

kk: Wow, that's a really messed up dream.
Eric: that really is freaky.
Too bad I don't remember my last dream, since it was so long since I've remembered one after waking up.
The one dream I do remember was from like five years ago. There was a vampire trying to kill me along with some other kids I never saw before. I was running around my house, and the bricks in the walls(how did they get there?), kept geting pushed out and showing the vampire.

Whoa, that's freaky Vashmata! I had a dream similar to that about three years ago...
Eric: That's interesting that you heard something outside right after the dream. That's happened to me before.
I had another abnormal dream, in which one of my best friends was a wizard, and so was I. Funny thing is, he's never even read any YW books, and HATES reading.Dif-tor heh smusma.

I think the craziest thing is when several elements from different sources mix together, like for example, I had seen a mythbusters show, was reading TBONWM, had watched Signs, Night at the Museum and the news that day, and all of them got mixed up in a dream that I had, plus things from work and classes made for a series of dreams that was exhausting to deal with, and looking back makes me laugh....
I think dreams can help us solve things that are bugging us when we're awake. I've had dreams where I've solved a problem I've been working on, and the solution works in the daylight hours....
Just my thoughts on it...

In science class, some kids bring in interesting news articles, and what's funny is that you hit the nail on the hammer(or was it the hammer on the nail?) That's almost exactly what a news article said on nightmares: "Nightmares are created to erase the fears from reality", or something like that."If his grin was any wider the top of his head would have fallen off"

Hmmmmm. That's very interesting. That would implicate that this thread is probably more personal than we thought. I think that idea sounds true, now that I think back a bit, although there are probably still some dreams that aren't like that at all...Believe something... and somewhere, it's happened

Wolf Wizard, I love your avatar! Where'd you get it, did you make it?
I've heard it said before that when a person has a fear of something, they have nightmares until they either lose their fear of it, or go insane. Insanity seems to be the most common option, it said... :P
I had a dream, and I know it was weird, but I can't remember that much of it...I think I can remember the muffled shout of somebody, calling out something like, "We need to find The Chicken!"Dif-tor heh smusma.
