  • one. OW! *hopes you're alright* and two: happy birthday emi! and three: um....*isn't sure i have a three, so i'll just wing it* well, everythings actually going good...my new site will be up soon *cheers* i've actually got people to participate in the contest for a logo/banner *cheers* and i might actually be able to get into sean's chat, though the one that's actually HERE makes my computer go crazy (as does the site itself) though i do hope the young wizards chat one day reoppens...
    I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
For those of you who don't recognize WHO'S back, I'll give you a hint, and I don't mean the typo's in my posts - YR.

    • Ow that must of hurt ALOT! I'm always clumsy too so I sort of know how you feel. Hope you get better!! AND THANK YOU YR!!!

Anyway, can I say that I'm probably the worst party goer ever?!?! One of my best friends had her 16 b-day party today, and I went because I haven't seen her in like forever! She goes to a different school so she invited a whole bunch of people that I don't even know. The one person that was supposed to go (who is also my other best friend) didn't even show up! So, I was stuck at this party with people I don't know, and my friend was barely seen the whole time. The GOOD part of the party was that she had some guys there and they decided to play football, skins vs. shirts... I have to admit that was pretty sweet. But other than that I was pretty much feeling like an out cast. I didn't even get to jump on the moon bounce. Thinking back on it I probably should have engaged more conversations with other people, but I'm just not like that with people I first meet.

I used to not be like that at all. When I was in kindergarden I made friends in and instant! But somewhere between elementary and high school I got wicked shy.

On the brightside of the day I got some new jewelry! yay...

      • Emi: I know, HSM coulda been better. But I'd have to say it was better than the previous movie...though Zac Efron going all crazy in "Bet on it" was a little freaky....

And I understand the party skills. I suck at parties too, lol

Hungry: Ouch, I know how that is. I just went to the doctors (two shots, ouch) and they said that I might have something going on with my shoulder, so I had to get it x-rayed. It's ok, though. X-Rays aren't too bad (except for the gowns...:/) I hope it's not too bad, and that you are running again very soon!

Today has been a horrible day. It started out ok. But by the time the night passed...

You see, I'm fourteen years old, just barely. And when I said before how my friends and I walked to DQ...well, we got honked at 3 times. It was amusing at first, but then/... It's freaky a little... the worst was tonight. Me and my one friend were walking the other home. She lives a couple of blocks away and we usually go halfway, but it was dark and I had a bad feeling about letting her go the rest of the way by herself, so we decided to walk her home...

And so we get there with no incident. On the way back, we're walking, and this U-Haul truck pulls up on our side, a little in front of us, in front of a house. Ok, there's nothing wrong with that. The door opens on the passenger side. Ok...but I'm a little weirded out 'cause we've just been talking about defending ourselves in case of an emergency, and it looks like this person is gonna get out as soon as we walk by, right next to me... ok. He does. And he just sort of eyes us and says, "Hello," in that really..you know, way. And he's within centimeters of me, and I'm freaked. We mumble hi. He takes a couple of steps toward us, and I start to speed up. My friend keeps her cool. And so we keep going, and I'm really, really freaked. And then we're a nice distance away. So then we're on the main road and this guys sings out to us from his car, like he's drunk or something, and it freaks me out even more. And then we're almost home. And my mom's there in he car, worried. And I'm not allowed to walk her home anymore, even in the day./ And I'm not really....I don't think I want to, after that.

I'm just really , really scared right now, and I think I might just go and cry, I think I really need to. And maybe tell my mom what happened.

        ...I dunno, just....

EDIT: I told my mom, and my friend who's going to tell her dad. So it's cool now, and I feel better. And things are in motion, and I think things are going to happen. The ball is rolling.

        • Well, it's been a while since I've posted randomness.

Hmm... well tonight we're going to my aunt and uncle's house to have dinner and play dominoes again. I'm just enjoying the hot weather, stuck in our "greenhouse" as I call it, with it being even hotter outside.... But at my aunt and uncle's their house stays nice and cool without AC, so it'll be nice there.

A few days ago I got a message from my neighbor asking if I could feed their horse whenever they're gone. I called back and said sure, and the next day I went over there and met the horse, and I was shown where the hay and grain is, how much to give her, how to do the water, etc. And the horse is really nice- Gypsy is her name. I've talked about Einstein, the Nut Job, the other neighbor, in here numerous times; well he has a horse too, that he probably doesn't take care of- he lets her loose to eat grass off his lawn so he doesn't have to mow it. That's his problem, when there isn't any more grass and and she runs off to his brother's house or anywhere else to look for fresh grass. She used to come to our house, eat our grass and plants, put indentations in the lawn that made me furious (I'm obsessed with the grass ), and sometimes even poop in the ATV trails.... But now that the other neighbors have a horse and there's hay and grains, Einstein's horse goes over there, breaks Gypsy our of her pasture, and eats her hay.... When I was being instructed on feeding Gypsy, the neighbor said sometimes Einstein's horse will be around, and the best thing to do is to give her a little bit of hay to eat while I tend to Gypsy. And she said if I just nudge the whip against Einstein's horse that it'll scare her and keep her away. (I'm scared of whips myself, I don't like them, they're mean, but she said I'd never have to crack it at either of the horses, which I'm glad for) Tomorrow morning I'm going to give Gypsy her morning feed: two "slices" of hay (when you cut the ropes around the bales, they kind of separate in to sections, which I call slices), about a quart of grain (it's kind of like rabbit food), and a palm full of vitamins (powdery like ground cinnamon, but smell dreadful to humans).

Well that's all the randomness I have for now.

            • Well, I have my first car. The only thing is, I don't know how to drive yet, in fact, I don't even have my permit to learn to drive yet My grandparents gave us one of their cars, so my dad gave me our oldest car (it's a Subaru station wagon, probably around 15 years old). Luckily (or unluckily?) my parents tell me that I'll just use it to learn to drive, not if I want to go somewhere; it has issues with dying in intersections But owning my first car is so cool! Now, I just have to think of a name...My sister suggested Crash as its name considering that I'm going to be learning to drive in it, I don't think it's wise to tempt fate like that And on a completely different note...yeah, wizy, I know exactly how you feel-my school starts in 2 days

              • I fed Gypsy this morning!

I rode my bike over there, and grabbed the grains and vitamins, and walked over to the pasture. There she was, standing at the gate, expecting the food. I put the scooper down and I was opening the gate, and she started eating it right out of the scooper! I opened the gate and started petting her. I was waiting for her to get out of the way so I could walk over and dump the grains in to her food bucket, but she wasn't moving. So I walked past her. She kind of made to walk out of the gate and get loose, so I said in a raised and firm voice, "Gypsy, no, get back in here! No!". I must have scared her, because she ran back in to the pasture and went as far away from me as she could. I poured the grains in and went to get the hay, and when I came back I left one slice outside the gate, and took the other one in. I unhooked the hay net, and was struggling with trying to get the hay in to the net. I hung the net on a pole of the fence to help hold it open, and Gypsy starts eating the hay off the ground! I let her eat some, and then I grabbed it from her and shoved it in the net successfully, and I went back out to get the other slice. I came back in, and while I was fumbling with the second slice she was eating hay off the ground... and without warning she comes over and bites the bale of hay I was trying to get in to the net and tears a whole section out of it and starts eating it! Then I got the second piece in the net, and she started eating the hay there... I didn't dare grab the net away from her and try and hang it in its usual place; I didn't want her angry, because before while I was going out to get the second slice of hay she was swinging her tail around and stomping the ground.... So I stood there for like fifteen minutes waiting for her to stop eating, and she never did.... So I was forced to leaving the net hanging on the fence and I came home. My friend is coming over at 2 (wow, that's in a little more than fifteen minutes already!) and maybe we can go down and I can hang the net in the correct place.... Well, the most important thing is that I got her fed, and I changed the water, and gave her company for a little while (even if she didn't like it, I still was there!), and the net was off the ground so she won't eat sand or get her hoof stuck in the net. That's all that matters. I'm beginning to think I should have just thrown the hay and grains over the fence like the neighbor said I could.... But I decided I wasn't too scared of Gypsy, and I said I'd go in, so I did, and I guess I got Gypsy angry, but neither of got hurt....

Well that's my excitement and randomness for the day.

                • I think I've been jinxed. First, there was the whole running into a wall and bruising and/or fracturing my arm. Then, at cross country on Saturday, I had a little accident, and ended up blistering my heels extremely badly-I can't even put on socks, let alone shoes, it hurts so bad. Then, today as I was running to get the phone, my favorite pair of sweatpants got caught on my sister's bedroom door and got a little hole. Oh, and did I mention that I got next to no sleep last night because I had to wake up at 4 AM to go kidnap the newbies on the cross country team? Something is seriously wrong if I've got this much bad luck right now. And it's painful bad luck! I'm not happy, if you can't tell. XD

I miss horseback riding. We had a cross country meet on Saturday, and my friend E couldn't come because she was in a horse show with her horse. She's seriously lucky...I didn't quite realize how much I missed riding until I started hanging out with E last spring.

Cross country yesterday was...hard. The race started out alright...I was in the top 20 girls, which is EXTREMELY good! But then, my heels started hurting from the insane blisters that formed, and I got a cramp, and it was really hot out...and a bunch of people from my team who shouldn't have passed me (including my sister! ) passed me. I'm just mad...the race started out so well, and it just went downhill from there. Also, I'm not sure how I'm going to practice tomorrow, since I can't really put on running shoes.

Eric, be careful with Gypsy, ok? Horses really are seriously big animals, and can be a bit well...dangerous if you aren't exactly sure of how to handle them. 1000+ pounds of animal is a lot of animal. Watch out for your feet too, if she starts stamping like that again-hope you're not wearing sandals. Just...be careful, and try not to agitate her. If she really doesn't seem to like it when you go in her pasture, maybe you should just throw the hay and grain over the fence-horses don't mind a little dirt/sand in their food. XD (I'm not trying to criticize you or anything...I'm just offering a little advice that you can take or leave. )

Well, my sister's friends are here for her sleepover...oy. Guess I should go be the responsible senior and try and finish my summer reading before school starts on Wednesday (of course, every senior in my school knows that while school starts on Wednesday, summer reading won't be collected until at least the Tuesday after that, if then. I love being a senior. )

                  • Oh, I didn't take any chances with Gypsy, nor am I ever going to. I think that what I can do is find a place on the fence that I can ask the neighbor to put the hey net on so I can lift it from the outside, put the hay in without her eating as I struggle with it , and move the grain bucket near the gate as well. The water bucket is already accessible from the outside.

And apparently the husband/father of their house is scared of Gypsy. He's a "city slicker", so he really hasn't been near horses, cows, etc. at all. For some reason this thought struck me as amusing; however it's safer for both the horse and himself to be scared of her, right?

I rode to their house on my bike again today with my friend who came over, and we went to give Gypsy some attention, and I walked in and fixed the hay net. So every thing's OK, and after we went miniature golfing with the friend, we saw that the neighbors were back, so they got back fine.

                    • Hungry: Don't worry your luck is going to come back!!

Mel: I know what you mean "Bet on it" was (according to my mom ) a little close to Micheal Jackson... hee hee..

Rhi: I have a Subaru too!! It's an outback, and I don't know the year. It's my dad's, but I'm taking it as soon as I get my license. Good luck on your car!!

So I am having a party for my birthday this weekend and I had a little trouble figuring out who the second person should be that I invited. I have one friend, who I'll call MB, that's definitely set. Then I have two other friends, HG and MC that I have to choose. HG is the friend who had the party I went to last week, but MB would be just wanting to hang with HG if I invited her. My mom and my sister kept saying "invite the person you know would want to do what you want to do, not what MB wants to do." I know MB probably sounds like a brat and want things her way, it's semi true, but she will do what I want to do. It's so confusing. So anyway I decided to invite MC because I know she would want to do what I want. BUT I feel bad for not inviting HG. Ugh, I wish I had a big enough car to fit everyone... Do you guys think I'm a bad person leaving out HG??? I mean I did ask her if she was free, in case I had a party. I don't know I think that it is just me.

Two more days of summer vacation for me and I'm getting anxious... eep! I'm not looking forward to wearing a school I.D. and getting up early every day.

                      • Rhi: I know how you feel. Those kinds of problems are the worst. However, it is your party, and even though it's sad that you had to leave out one friend, at least it'll be okay and your friends will listen to you and you'll have a lot more fun.

Wow, that was a big almost run-on sentence, :P

And YES! HE WENT MJ ON YO BUTS!! *couf* yeah, come to think of it, he really did, lol. Did you know MJ just turned like 42 or something yesterday? Weiird, I thought he was older, he just looks kind of inhuman, I guess. *shrug* Weiiird dude.

Hungry: I'm sorry, I might have passed my leftover bad luck onto you... Sorry 'bout that. I was having... a bad week. Things gotta get worse before they can get better, but I don't think ... I think you should be in the clear soon. Just try to think happy thoughts, and try to laugh, and you'll be ok. And rest your feet. Yeah, that would help.

In other news....first day of high school today. It was pretty awesome, I gotta admit. It was a half day today and we could wear whatever clothes, and we had 15 minute periods so we got to know kinda were everything was. I made a buncha new friend, got a locker for the first time, went down the up steps, and couldn't find the down steps.... my homeroom was changed so I couldn't find it....I danced for the first time in a long time with wild abandon...I had a mostly melted ice cream sundae (haha, the girls _pounced_ on that ice cream, it was hilarious. Whipped Cream was flying everywhere!) Though I did get amazingly heavy textbooks....but it'sokay. I can tell I'm gonna be really, really busy, so if I'm not on so much starting next week, don't be alarmed. I'll just have 3 hours of homework, piano, cello, and chorale to worry about. That's just a disclaimer. But I'm really excited, I gotta say. It's nice ito be challenged (I'm gonna bite those words, I know it, XD) and I feel as if another big, big, heavy shell of me is starting to crack.....

                        • Yeah I'm ending up having to invite HG because MC never got back to me. Whatever! People are so complicated sometimes...

I start school tomorrow and I'm a little upset that my summer is officially over! The best thing about this week is that not only it's going to be my birthday, we have our first and ONLY home game for football on Friday! The reason it's our only home game is because our football field is getting renovated to get a track built around it! Yay our small town has some sense!!

The best part is that the game is against our rivals, so it's going to be one exciting game.

Oh and I'm rereading the series again and now I'm at a stand still because I lost A Wizard Abroad, and that was the book I was looking forward to rereading!! Now, I'm just stuck trying to sleep with out reading. Which by the way doesn't work well, I kept waking up every hour after I tried to go to sleep.

Well I guess that's all for now!

                          Dai all!

Edit: I GOT IT!! I GOT MY CAMCORDER FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!! Yay!!!!! Happy Birthday to me...

                          • Oh yes. Dai all; I don't know when I'll ever be seen around here again (I feel like I'm moving to the Arctic for a couple years). School and the height of IB waits tomorrow: I already know at least a quarter of all my classes and I share my schedule with at least three other people.
                            I sound pretentious now, don't I? Crap.

So. Last Tuesday was the total lunar eclipse. That night/morning, I had a spontaneous sleepover (my first sleepover! Oh, the joy) with a couple of my friends. I got three hours of sleep. I had to go to school (textbooks/photos/etc) the afternoon after the eclipse. My only regret: that we couldn't go to the observatory to watch the eclipse- apparently it was too 'late'. (Well, it was, but it was for an educational cause! And you're -supposed- to go to an observatory past midnight, not in the evening.)

That's one of the absolute most beautiful nights I've seen in the city for a lunar eclipse. Which also explains why it was so zarking cold (there was frost on the ground!). Cold, but not so much that I was shivering half an hour in (we were out from 3-4:30 in the morning in the backyard, and tracked the moon out to the front until 5 or so. And then we played piano for about half an hour. xD).

The moon started entering the prenumbra around 2:50AM (we'd get so blasted in IB for saying "around" but I don't suppose anyone was timing it?) and entered totality around...4:30? Started progressing out of totality at around 6 (there was a small sliver of cheddar/mozzarella cheese coloured light/moon on the top right hand side when I went down to give my friend some Asian cough medicine) and was two thirds out of the umbra at 6:30ish. The shadow progressed from the top right corner of the Moon toward the bottom right.

So, we saw/recognised in addition to the full moon passing through the Earth's umbra (darkest part of shadow):

                            * Cassiopeia- almost directly overhead
                            * Cygnus- in the west (the head star was just above my fence and appeared to be dive bombing it)
                            * Orion- oriented on his side, with the head pointing east. His sword was very very faintly visible.
                            * Vega- though either the rest of Libra is too faint or I didn't recognise it- we didn't see the rest of Libra.
                            * Milky Way- very very faintly, spanning east-west directly overhead
                            * Pleiades (M45) open star cluster in the east (grew much more visible as the eclipse entered totality, of course- which is why it's so cool observing during an eclipse- you see the eclipse and get to observe like it was new moon)
                            * Mars, below the Pleiades and above Betelgeuse- you really can see that it has an orange/red colour, and...pretend you can see a tiny bright disc when you look at it with binoculars. xD
                            * Three satellites between- was it 4:05 and 4:10?-, one passing north-south, one passing south-north and one passing east-west. Ish.
                            * Meteor or meteor like object in the southeast, lasting...half a second is my guess. Magnitude? Uh...Maybe about as bright as Vega, maybe a bit more.

Of course, since we only had a general star chart, I can only use vagueish relative directions. (Did any of us have a compass? Heh.)

Wish school could be this...flexible. Perhaps we could get more people out the next lunar eclipse visible from hereabouts.
-Tell me and I may remember; show me and I'll understand; involve me and I'll never forget. Thank you, PM. Your light lives on.

                            • So, I've just found a little air pocket to breathe in. School's been....really busy. The second week, and I'm swamped already. But it's okay, it's kind of nice in some ways. And it's getting me more in shape (i.e., I have gym class first period (uck) on tuesdays and wednesdays, which is actually a challenging gym class, + the countless flights I go up and down all day...taht's all my school is, really. Steps.) Then there's orchestra, chorus, chorale, piano, cello (yaaay), maybe the play...Pretty busy, yeah. Plus homework, and trying to grasp Algebra 2, Great Expectations, Latin (ooh, be afraid), and the hardest of all: Biology right after luch...^^

                              Aight, I gotta go.

                              Happy (belated) Birthday Emi!

ATWM, you're a genius with stars. I couldn't do any of that, really. Sounds pretty cool, I gotta say.

Well, dinner, and then studying for my numerous tests. I'm outta here.

just let your heart take over and sign with a flourish

                              • Mel: Oh Great Expectations... I loved that book.. *cough* *cough*. Don't strain yourself too much!! High School is all about fun! GO for play!! and thank you!!

Alrighty, school's been well... I already fell behind on my reading... oops! But I caught up tonight. I've been basically super busy with school. Between my American Studies and English it's a lot of homework. Chemistry is boring.. and then marketing 2 is just plain stupid. I don't even know why I took that class again. But I'm going to start drivers ed next week!! yay.

Oh and I met this really nice looking exchange student from Norway... Does anyone know how to speak Norweigan? Or even write for that matter? he he... just kidding...

hmmm... My school decided to raise the prices for some of the drinks in the vending machines. It's now $1.25. BUT the sad thing is they also made the bottle smaller. They're trying to make our school more healthier. I guess my town's probably one of the last ones to make these changes.

That's all to report... I gotta catch some shut eye.

                                Dai!
Time passes. Even when it seems impossible.
Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise.
It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me.
