and hey! i just finished this book by agatha christie (death on the nile) and it was so freakin awesome!! i've only read one other book of hers (a pocket full of rye) but i loooooooooove her so much!
      ABSO-FRIKIN-LUTELY!! *ahem* excuse me.

Agathe Christie is one of my absolute favs. Me and me friend, T, got sooo angry when we went to the museum and this guide was like, "And for all you older people, Agathe Chrisite was a big friend of blah blah blah, this archaeologist!" Grrr. assuming. psh.

Shade's Children, by the way, whoever mentioned it, is a really good ages-15+ book.

WEll, it's prolly a bit over my head, but I've read a few adult books, so I don't think it could be that bad. Unless its like that book...ooh, whats it called...back in a spot, and aha! The Cobra Event. I didn't read it, but it is supposed to be soo...scary.

      WEll, must go

      • I had an awsome dream last night!! Ok you have to know some background info first. I want on a choir tour with my church choir about a month ago. We went to Washington DC and NYC!!! I just wanted to scream because we were going to Manhatten!! but i couldnt because we were on a bus, but whatever. So on our way back to boring old IL, we stopped at Cedar Point (an amusment park in Ohio) so at CP my friend, Troy *who i have a huge crush on *, and I were arm wresling kinda. We were arm wresling in the air because there were no tables. then one of me other friends was like, "what are you doing?" and then my other friend, Jen, says, "They're holding hands!" so thats when my dream started.~~~ Jen says, "they're holding hands!" and we were! it was weird, but nice. And then after a while everyone else was gone (well my friends anyway) and then Troy kissed me--and i kissed him back . Then i woke up. But when i woke i was happy but kinda weirded out at the same time because i know that Troy would never kiss me because he has a girlfriend. Oh well- i can still dream!

        • SEND ME BACK TO NERD CAMP! That's where I was for the past week, by the way. It was...to put it mildly, the best thing I ever did. It was at a college, and I took a class in philosophy while I was there...pretty cool. And the food there? Excellent. Yumm...

The only problem is all the great people I made friends with there? None of them live closer than 30 minutes away from me, so I probably won't see most of them again. Of course, the guy who lives 30 minutes away wants to keep in touch, so I'm cool with that-he admitted that he liked me, and since I like him back, why not give it a try, right? I think it'd be worth it to stay in touch with him-he's a runner (like me), he's extremely courteous to everyone, and is just an all-around great guy. And, he's single. Trust me, if you lived in the same building with him for a week, you'd know that this wasn't all an act.

But how do you talk to a guy on the phone? I know absolutely nothing about what to say to him, or how to ask him to do anything, or anything like that...can you tell I've been thinking about this a bit? Oh well...

I like rock climbing-I finally made it to the top of the wall at camp, even though I'm terrified of heights. Pretty sweet, so...yeah.

Has anyone read anything by Diana Wynne Jones? Is she any good? Because my aunt gave me a few of her books for a late birthday present, and I'm just sort of wondering if they're any good, since I haven't read anything by her before.

I guess I'm going to go take a shower now, since I stink from cross country practice. Adios.

Edit: hehe...Happy 500 pages TOGR! Lol, and I'm the first post! Yes, saying I'm first is a bit random and childish, but oh well.

          • Hungry, damn you!

...just kiddin', sheesh. Don't get all offensive on me!

            Hungry:

WEll, it's better then when my friend, K, went to Johns Hopkins. Some of the people ther live literally as far away as California. Woowww.
EDIT: Oh, er, we live verrry far away from California. It would take like a week in the car. longer, maybe. prolly. I don't know, I've never road-tripped.

            It is She Again:
But how do you talk to a guy on the phone? I know absolutely nothing about what to say to him, or how to ask him to do anything, or anything like that...can you tell I've been thinking about this a bit? Oh well...
My advice, just be yourself. Talk about the random stuff you normally talk about. Normally, if you really like a guy, you'll never run dry of conversation (or almost), or so I have read. I've only talked to a guy once on the phone, but my brother has been on the phone for hours with his girlfriend. Trust me, if your the one who need to get on the phone, it's annoying. Unless the girldfriend (or boyfriend) is totally sweet and you can't get mad at them.

Yesterday was soooo weird. I was sitting outside reading, when the sky began to darken, like really creepily. Then, out of nowhere, the wind picked up. Reeeeeaaaaaaly hard..Then, I saw lightning in the distance, and then trashcharns started blowing. UP THE STREET. It was soo crazy, we had to put all the trashcans away, and my hair dried within like five minutes (I had just taken a shower). Then, it carried on for like a half an hour, with full blown lightning and rain, and the wind still going crazy. Then, before I knew it, I had both finish Abhorsen and the storm had passed. Weeeird o.O

Ok, I'm kinda psyched. We're going to Knoebels, and amusement park in some mountains near us, and we only go there once a year, and this year has been especially hard on the money, so it's a blessing we can go this year at all, and I'm really happy and I can't wait!

Ok, I think I must go soon. The second to post in the 500th page of ToGr! Woot!

            later days!

              • Well, Well, Well... The 500th page of the TOGR...

HAPPY 500th PAGE TOGR! I'm waiting for the other milestone that will come with the end of this page however .

Slash: .. I am board... sea sick... and mad, my laptop downloads stuff so slow! and the worce part is i am in year 1789...
Umm... do you mean 'bored' and 'worst'? Just clarifying.

I have a new sword - So that makes two of them (Watch out Wizardling ). 't'was a bargain too . AU$50 - and its a really good one. Its a bonus that its short enough not to bump against my ankles when/if I wear it. It looks like this
I'm very happy with it. I'm also making another couple of costumes for medsoc I've discovered that I actually really like sewing, although I'm not very good at it.

I've been looking into what I"m going to be doing subject-wise next semester, and I'm going to have fun. All the course notes and assignment information for Palaeobiology have been uploaded onto the internet and aside from the discussion topics (We have to DEBATE - I've never debated before ) It looks awesome - even the discussion topics look awesome once I get past the whole debating idea.

Aanyway, my uni holidays are nearly over - the fieldtrip ate them up nicely - I start back again on Monday. I'm looking forward to starting again actually. Need mental stimulation.

The field trip was fun. Spent it in, well, a field (strange that) climbing up hills and down steeper hills and traipsing and bushbashing through scrub to get to the outcrops that we need to examine. Found some cool fossils, though . I'll post links to pictures later if anyone wants to see them. One of my friends and I have decided that when/if we can, to go back there and camp out at the caves to have a better look around there - you can do adventure caving and abseilling! Anyway, I have updates that wish to restart my computer and sewing to finish for a friend.

Back. Ugh, now I feel like I am going to puke like I did like... Okay, now it is midnight so 3 nights ago!!! Man, the scent of old barf brings up new... Sorry if I am making some of you sick but my brother had to go and make me feel sick after eating a delectable chocolate pie... *licks lips* Only a piece of course...

Amanda, Drumming_Dairine, Panda, is asleep on my bed! YAY!! She may just get more than 2 hours sleep tonight!! Heck, I'd sleep on the guest bed just to keep her asleep... She talks to Nate too much. Even with her "free minutes".

Now it smells like Odo-ban up-stairs because of the dratted fan on the 2nd floor... I am gonna be sooooooooo "high" on that stuff I'll be insane...er than I am right now... *shifty eyes* I swear I don't have radio active bananas... Awww, little monkey got bit by a bug...

By the way, for those of you who don't know. This is just an FYI: If the name says MonkeyMum I am really Monkey... *rolls eyes* Lee made a tad screw up. *will delete that when name is changed back*

Ummmm... Hmmmm... Do I have anything else to say?... Uh, no. I am happy with what I just said.

I am making a: monkey hat, panda hat, frog hat, and a kitty hat!! I feel so special!!

                  • Wow, I can't beleive we reached 500. And when I was off on vacation, too. :P

This is a message for all of the VGDawn members. We're working on a revival of the site, and there's a topic going on in the forum called Updates and Messages from the Admins. Here's the link.. Your input would be appreciated! Also, if some of the forums, such as Kanata, were your work and you would like to hold onto them somehow, please message/talk to me about; I'm clearing out many of the excess forums.

For newbies and clueless in general ( :P ), Dawn of the Conqueror's Age, more commonly known as VGDawn, is a fantasy roleplay I started up several years ago. Its peak was stunning, but after completing the original plot, it fell into a slump, and we're trying to bring it back up to speed. If you're interested in writing -- whether you're good at it or not ('cuz the only way to get better is to _write_!) -- come check it out. http://vgdawn.avidgamers.com Even if you're new, you should check out the Revival topic because you can help shape what VGDawn will become.

                    Thanks.

Yesterday was... oh wow. So my day started out with five bored kids stuck inside with only one DDR pad an crappy game for PS1 that didn't even work most of the time. B had a better DDR game for XBox, but his pad was broken and his uncle was over at his house -- so we wouldn't be able to play there even if we walked our DDR pad up the street. BW had an XBox, but no game or pad. So what do we do? We run up to B's house to get the game, beg mom for a ride in the van, rush the pad to the car in the pouring rain, and set it all up at BW's house.

We played DDR for over six hours.

In the middle of it, BW's friend R comes over with another pad, and BW's mom buys us pizzas. But it didn't end there. As soon as it was beginning to get dark, we drove back to our street and played flash light tag.

A lot of people like Diana Wynne Jones; I'd give her books a try. I'm not a big fan.

                    Slash: I <3 your pirate.

OMG I SAW PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN AND LOVED IT. AND THEN I SAW IT AGAIN AND LOVED IT. AND I'M GONNA SEE IT AGAIN WITH MY FRIENDS A THIRD TIME AND LOVE IT.

Alla! One of my friends is in Australia. She sent me pictures. In one, she's feeding a kangaroo.... so *cute*.

Monko: what did you want your username to be? Ugghhh stuff happens when you're gone for three weeks. Like Bush vetoes embryonic stem cell research. Or we completely slack off in rescuing Americans in Lebanon. Or people change their usernames. What is this world coming to??? XD

                          • Whoa. I havent posted since like what, 15 pages back? Heheh. Im so lazy these days. And there is rarely any WiFi's for free. Well, for the update we have been moving right along, heading down to Trinada, and for the moment we are in Grenada. We were expecting a friend today from Texas, but she didnt have a passport so she couldnt get on the plane going off for Barbados. So she had to get a hotel and now tomorrow morning will go to the Couthouse and get a "temporary passport" I dont know how long that will take, or if it will even work. So yeah, kinda hectic.

Next, hm, lets see. Oh, i put purple in my hair today. On the lower part oh my head, about, uh i call them half up half down, like half pony tails, and the hair left from the half pony, i bleached then colored purple. 'Cept, the purple isnt so purple. Its more lavender, so im gonna re-do the color tomorrow and if i have enough most likely maybe will do over-all color. Scary thought, hehe.

Oh and another big thing. Just about 3 weeks ago i made the call that we are now going around the world. Yes, the world. Through the Pacific, and then the Med. and back to the Caribbean in 2009, or somewhere of that timing.
My sister and I will do school in New Zealand for half of our next grades, the schooling terms in NZ are all creepy, they start in Feb. and end in Dec. Weird, I know. Its basically like, year round. And they love their boarding schools. And the seasons are reversed. Which is kind of cool. Hehe. But yeah, so now we have to get a ton of things prepared and made for the boat before we endure on our trek of the world. Hm. Lots of making things, and more books, guides, charts, GPS chips, etc. You get it, hopefully.
Scary thought is, that during the time in the Panama Lock is like 2 days long. Going in and out of locks. Although if you were to go along at 7 knots (like MPH) you can do it in about a day. Still kinda creepy. And from Panama to the Galapagos is like 9 days, maybe more. Doldrums arent very fun to think about either.

Im lazy, I already feel like not wanting to type anymore. I will do more someother time this week. Ta. And i wanna see Pirates of The Caribbean 2 really bad.

                            Ta Ta
                            Love and be loved

                            • 10 more posts to go, cousins.

I'm actually vaguely curious how much of ToGR you're responsible for, Gryphy. You do have 1747 or so posts...is it rational to assume at least 1000 of them are ToGR posts?

Pirates 2 was quite good as a movie, and as a sucessor to Pirates, but it lacked a certain finishing touch to it. The ending was reminiscent of Empire Strikes Back, but without as substantial an ending, methinks. Empire made you go, golly, what a good movie, what a good ending...whereas Pirates just feels like half of a movie.

Ooooh, DD chat next week, almost forgot. Need to go, especially as there won't be one in August.

                              Gah, I've missed too much!

hungry - Diana Wynne Jones is quite good - I read Dark Lord of Derkholm and Year of the Griffin first and I like them the best for their light satire.

It is She Again - talking (on the phone or in general) probably isn't something you should be forcing. When you get on the phone, talk, and if it gets too awkward, then stop talking. But as Mel said, be yourself...and it'll all work out.

Slash - avatar may be too big. Refer to guidelines.

Alla - that reminds me - I'm thinking of staging a nice little lightsaber fight, filming it, adding some rotoscoping effects, and seeing how it comes out. I was inspired by a couple of fan films that were really good, but I think I can improve on the swordplay.

                              *takes out a lightsaber* Engarde!
                              Omnia mutantur; nihil interit.
