Anyway....Aurora, maybe he's preoccupied. Guys don't understand us. It's a fact. If they buy us too much one year, we tell them so, and then they buy us NOTHING. I would send him an email asking if he really loved me, but don't take advice from a girl who's afraid of makeup and daring in the face of boys...yet ends up with no boyfriends.... My email would be like:

strapless....you better have an awsome bra for that. you should try to find another dress but as for the money aspect what u need is what you need you can take help from your parents this is an important occasion but u gotta be careful bcuz u might need the money for more important occasions!.

Wow, the dress sounds beautiful. As for the money..... *sigh* I would normally say go for it," especially if your parents are offering to help out: parents generally know what they can and can't afford, and will tell you so. (My parents will, anyway: they paid for my dress.) Balls are expensive things. But look at it this way: you're 16 or 17, right? So.... you're probably not going to grow any more, not if you're as short as you mentioned. So you will be able to wear it at other occasions- my mother told me that there would be heaps of them, things like university balls and stuff. I don't know about that for you, though. If you love the dress and you look good in it, I would get it. But only you really know how much you can afford, I guess.

I agree with most of the other posts here... if you intend to do any dancing, or walking, or anything more energetic than sitting around and looking glamorous, strapless isnot the way to go. It's an accident waiting to embarrass you. See if you can at least find something with spaghetti straps.

As long as the waist is tight enough and the stomach and chest is stiff enough, you're ok, but I would always go with straps. I always get straps. I think it's kind of a personal preference--how much you prefer dancing, what you want showing...with guys it's so easy. Nearly all tuxes are the same...to me at least.

I mentioned I added straps to mine, didn't I? It's really not hard, though I don't know if your dress would take them like mine did. I got my grandma to do it, I bet you have a sewing-friendly relation somewhere.

Oh, someone mentioned bras? This is going to soudns REALLY bad, but I got one of the ones that are kind of corset-y. I didn't get it because I wanted it, but because there weren't any strapless ones that fit me........ but it worked REALLY well, and lame though it sounds I would suggest it. (Mind you, it was quite expensive, more than a strapless bra. But it had a lot more security: it might even be enough with strapless.)

Uh oh... It would appear that Alastair got punched in the ribs last Wednesday because I complained a bit about how I felt ignored...

But at least he's not going to beat me up for it. He wouldn't lay a finger on me unless it was a sparring match....

I don't even wear a bra... Hahahahaha... I don't need to because I'm flat! Okay, part of me is resentful because of that fact, while the other have chuckles because from my experience with them... they're very uncomfortable.
