The only reason you don't like them is because you wrote them. Stop being so modest. They're good. And, sorry if I'm a little blunt. I've been told by many that I am. *sheepish grin*

Also, they make sense to me. So don't worry, you're not writing meaningless jabber.

If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?

For I am joyously, wonderfully alive!

I just caught up here, all of the poems since my last post are really good! I like them.

BC: littlehorse is right, you don't like them because YOU wrote them, I hate everything I write but I've been told by many that they are pretty good.

Thank you. Why does it say that db was last to post in this topic, when Sam's last? Minor malfunction. I just kinda write as I go...y'know? I mean, if I were to sit down and write...I can't do it. Sam, write something! I'm sure you'd be great. Come on, if you mess up, which I have done a million times, we'll still love you!

I'm too tired BC! I'll do something tomarrow and post it, I've been working on my new story and now I've gotten out of the habbit of writing poetry. But I know one that I like from a book and it is called Come In! it is by Shel Silverstein:

If you are a dreamer come in
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
          A hope-er, a pray-er, a Magic Bean buyer,
If you are a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin
          Come in!
          Come in!

OK I like it, but you might not. Anyway, I promise to post a new poem by me tomarrow.

It's awesome! I think it's great! I love Shel Silverstein.
I can see nothing in this darkness
            All I feel is black
            All I see is black
            All I know is black
In the distance a light gleams
Always distant as if it runs from me
Am I truly such a black heart?
Am I truly such a black soul?
If I were given a chance
            One chance
            I would take the light
            Embrace it
            But no chance will come
            My soul will stay black
            And I know I've lied
            And I know I've hurt
            And I know I've screamed
            But with a chance
            I would tell only truth
            I would only heal
            I would only sing
            But it's too late
            And my soul is black

              some devoured,
              but only a few
should be chewed and digested thorouchly.

Oh! I completely forgoit! I had this awesome poem that someone wrote in my school magazine... it is SO good. But my mag is at home and, at the moment, I am not. *hits self* But you've reminded me now...

That Shel Silverstein is net. I was re-reading Abarat the other day, and i noticed that the poem in the front of the book, which CB wrote himself, I one of my favourite bits of the book.
Hmm, I don't think I can find it, but the first bit goes...
                "I dreamed a limitless book
                A book unbound
its pages scattered in fantastic abundance."
                .. very cool.

... mm. Poking around at his website (very strange, very dark, very unsurprising: it's a lot like his books) And he has recently turned in the text to Abarat book 2. He mentions a bunch of stuff, ABARAT people. Go Here to read the interview... first bit very interesting.

lol, most of my poetry is written early in the morning/late at night, whichever way you want to look at it. It starts getting angsty and depressive around two-ish...you really, really don't want to see it around three or four.
Anyway, that was my very strange way of saying that I'd like to put something up here but don't have anything fit for general consumption.

Words are the litmus paper of the minds. If you find yourself in the power of someone who will use the word "commence" in cold blood, go somewhere else very quickly. But if they say "Enter", don't stop to pack.

Oh dear. Perhaps you should write at other times? I find writing in exams when I've finished the papers very relaxing. (Only on mock exams, guys, don't panic. I'm not stupid, just silly. )

                    • ha, I doodle. The pages of my notebooks are filled with dragons, people, and various strange beings. But at two onwards, I'm not particularly in the mood to keep working on whatever's in my sketchbook; besides, I can't draw angst that well.

                      • *laughs* You just reminded me of something. This year we had, as we all ways do, mock exams in preparation for finals around, oh, September. This year, for some insane reason, they told us that even if we had finished the paper and checked it eighty zillion times, we still had to stick around. *whimpers* That's right. Stick around, in an exam room, for up to one and a half frickin' hours (because exams take three hours. Even I can't finish and check throroughly three or more papers in much under 1.5 hours.) So, as you can guess, we did a LOT of sitting around. (I got a LOT of poems written, and re-writted, and checked. I got some nice work out of it, which is all good.) French was one of the shortest exams: very, very short. possibly even less than 1.5 hours. >.< When Madame Morrow was handing out the papers, she said to a couple of people: "I was almost afraid to makr these!" We look at them:
Each and every single pages is hugely and elaborately decorated in these massive patterns. SO pretty.

                        So, heh, yeah...

                        • Rain is pouring
                          And I don't think
                          You understand
                          You made it rain
                          You made it pour
                          When you touch her
                          When you smile at her
                          I'm so jealous

                          Dawn is breaking
                          And I don't think
                          He understands
                          He made the dawn
                          He made the sun

                          When he smiles at me
                          She's so jealous

                          Are you happy now?
                          Do you feel pleasure
                          In seeing that
                          I'm not full?
                          Well soon you'll see
                          That someone loves me
                          And someone cares

                          I warned you once
                          And then it came
                          She left you didn't she
                          Well I'm with him
                          So don't look at me
                          Cuz now you know
What it's like to be empty

So HA HA! to you, Boy A! I don't think any of you are him, but I'm with Boy Z now! He's number 26! You're 1! But remember how low down that is compared to him...
