      As she was about to take off, Nightshade glanced back at Sirius one more time...and was almost knocked over by the force of the call.
      I'm just leaving Sirius. Vampires attacked him and Diego isn't anywhere around here. Either they're desperate for blood, or they've acquired a taste for dragons...
      You were right the second time, dragon girl.
      Nightshade breathed in sharply. That voice...it had fangs, she could tell...swallowing slightly, she sent an urgent thought back to the fortress.
      I can't risk opening my mind any more. If any news comes, send it...
      She paused. Was someone listening?
      Send it the usual way. You know what I mean.
      A faint echo of dry laughter sounded in her head.

        OOT: KsSk8er, the vampire's aren't at the fortress. They couldn't get in. Besides, vampire's aren't much for the 'swooping down in full force.'

              Suddendly they decended. By that time Diego was trying to find with his mind any nearby wizard, so he could send a thought. He didn't know what they were gonna do to him down there so he was trying to send the thought before they came down. Suddendly, he found someone. She was far, very far, but she was the closer one.                 Nightshade felt a familiar, insistent buzz at the back of her mind. She shut her eyes briefly. Well...it might be Diego...she opened her mind.
                --me. Help Sirius. They are taking me to their Hide-out. Help.
                Diego! she screamed, both out loud and in her mind. Diego, where are you? Are you okay? Don't worry about Sirius, I put a shield around him, can you see any landmarks? She was frantically wheeling and circling, unmindful of her surroundings, of the eyes glowing faintly red and the two sharp teeth in the bushes on the ground...

                    Nightshade flamed, this time icy white, and flew into it...and vanished. She was invisible. She was seeing things through Diego's eyes for an instant, and then...blackness. But the instant was enough. She shut her eyes, bringing the brief picture into focus, took a deep breath, and Transported herself to the spot.

                      When she arrived, Nightshade saw Diego just disappearing around one of the boulders...
                      Diego! But when she vaulted up into the sky, she couldn't see him anywhere below. Sighing, she landed again.

                          Sirus is safe? Nightshade cloaked him in a protection spell?

                          If we can get a location on Sirus Ice can go get him in the sled. I know Sirus is huge but Ice can grow in size and the sled is as big as he wants it to be.

                          He just needs directions.

                            meanwhile, back at the fortress, a new troop stepped from the shadows. she was dressed in dark green pants and a black turtleneck, a billowing cloak flowing behind her. looking around she spots Ged and thinks he may be in charge...hello she says simply, my name is alyra, i was sent from the planet algaeru to tell you that around 100,000 of our troops are on their way she looks around and asks, in a very grim voice, got any dr.pepper? i'm parched...

                                She opened her eyes.
                                "Ged? We have problems- vampires. I got hold of Nightshade and she said she found Sirius with what looks like vampire wounds- she didn't say, but I think he'll be OK. But what's worse, Diego wasn't there. I don't know where he is, but I think Nightshade's on it. We're going to ned archers- with wooden arrows, and we're going to need them now. Battalions, up on the battlements- and anyone who's good with fire. Anyone else will need to stay out of the way. ASnd you'll need to send someone out to look for Sirius- I got a picture off Nightshade." She carefully sent a slightly blurred picture of the dragon to Ged. "get someone who can draw to put that down- but I don't know where, exactly, it is."
