Now, now, let's keep the spoilers in their respective topics please!

Also, remember that the LP is going to be some sort of ally in this book. That's what I've gathered from the (heh)... Blurb. Ilovethatword...

Why would It bother with subversion like that when It's going to be all plain and obvious, as the ... blurb

Yeah... if it was going to be anybody, I really think it would be Filif or Sker'ret. Not Roshaun... he's SO obvious it's impossible. I'll bet you three chocolate bars that if anyone's working with or for the LP, consciously or unconsciously, it's not Roshaun.

Anyway, aren't we all arrogant? I know I am very arrogant. I bet you can be- and it's kind of the natural state of all teenagers (or even humans) to think the world revolves around you. Being brought up the way it's implied the Roshaun is would just exacerbate that- it doesn't neccessarily mean he's evil.

Less concealing? No, I don't think so... but we know that it _is_ changing, slowly...

And you might want to kill that spoiler sometime.

Fine. 3 chocolate bars then. I guess he's an ally..... BUT that's just ONE of the versions of the LP, there's lots of them wandering around making chaos.

That's true. There are a bunch of 'shadows,' I think he called them, abroad in the universe. But they're all changing, as well.

I was referring to that great, huge, gaping spoiler Agent M had in her last post... you know, the ****** dies one... some people might get quite offended.

And eventually, hopefully, all the LP's shadows will be gone... and then the "long fall, upwards, into the light" will properly begin...

It occurs to me that many people who end up falling in love with each other start out by being violently irritated by one another.

                Just speculation, of course.

Well DD's blog did say that Dairine would be upset if Roshaun ended up dead... then again if someone was staying at my place and they wound up dead I'd probably be upset no matter how annoying they were.

My bet is that none of the 3 are working for the LP. I reckon he'll be making his impact some other way, possibly even through Nita's fridge.

                      • Hell yeah.
As for the name... well, it's an utter coincidence. It's not really an odd number, anyway... *counts in head* Offhand, I can think of five other people in the books with the same number of letters... and also, no-one would ever have known unless you'd said it...

                          • Clearly in the books there's such a thing as evil, The Lone Power is evil, no one can deny it. And how about Saddam or Osama bin Laden??? Huh??? They're evil. Whether you like it or not Rysade there's evil in the world.

                            • You need to be careful, there, Agent M; in many (all? most?) cases, right and wrong depends on your point of view.

OK, so you're you; you have your morals and your beliefs and your personal code, right? And you spend your life acting on it. You probably won't go against it, except in minor ways (like stealing a biscuit from the draw, or some change out of your parent's purse, or something. Not that I'm sugesting you're a thief... I'm just trying to find an appropriate example...) and when you do, you feel guilty. Sometimes, that code of belief will lead you to do something that disagrees with someone else's code (for example, you think it's nice to look good, so you wear a purple skirt. Someone else's religion thinks that purple skirts are the work of the devil. Bear with me, I'm looking for examples here.) Depending on the size of the transgression, that other person could label you evil, or bad, or wrong. Right? But from your oint of view, that's rubbish; you're just doing what you believe. Who's right? Who's wrong?

Now, it's a given that the actions of Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, George Bush, John Howard, etc, are on a slightly different scale than wearing a purple skirt. This is other people's lives; fair enough. BUT. These people are still acting on their moral code and beliefs, just like you do, just like I do, just like everyobody else does. What right have you to condemn that, and say, "This code, my code, that's an OK code; So are these other ones; but that one over there, that's wrong." Whatever people do, almost invariably they think they're doing the right thing; they believe there is justification for the actions. I believe that certain actions, namely killing, torture, persecution are evil, wrong, etc(no matter what the justification at hand. Thus I think the army of the US is just as wrong as the Iraqui one; however, I do see that... the action is wrong, but in some cases and only some, it is a neccessity. I still believe the action is wrong. Example; the Second World War. Though I firly believe that all those deaths in abttle are a waste,at the same timeI think the Britain, America, etc had to act.) ; but I do not think you can condemn a person as evil.

Now I need an example. Take Nita. In Dilemma, she was seriously considering selling out the the LP to save her mother. Now, that action would have been wrong; even evil, aespecially as she knew the consequences. However, to Nita, the action mgiht have been justified- to save her mother's life. The action would have been "evil;" Nita would not have been.

Also, when people are thinking of examples of modern evil, the kneejerk reaction is to say "saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden." I think watch that.

                              • I agree with Birdhead. You can't really say that a person is evil. That depends on your morals.

Osama bin Laden believed that he was killing the "infidels" for Allah. So according to him, he's a saint.

I have my own opinions on who and what I think are evil, and I do believe in evil, but I don't feel like debating with anyone, so I won't go into that.

I don't think Roshaun is evil. I think he's a spoiled, selfish little swear word that I'm not going to say. I'm sure you all can guess.

But, then again, I don't know that much about him. Maybe he'll change later on in the book. I hope so. If he doesn't, I'll just get really pissed off at him and wish he was there to strangle.
