wow, did this thing get off topic. cool off topic, but waaaaaaay off topic.

my school library now has every single book in the yw series. (sister recgonizes that she has absolutely no idea what teens read, so she delegated the job to me, because i read prolifically. ironically, we (a catholic school) also have a good deal of teh Sweep series (about wicca).

All of them! you are lucky. My school library only has SYWTBAW.I have to go to the public library if I want to read the other ones.

I myself am an avid reader I finish anywhere from 1 to 3 books a day. Most of the ones i read are at least 300 pages in length. I have read all the YW books and I have almost read every starwars book in print. (I have no life at all) heh.

there is a benefite to being the one that picks out all the new fiction. you get what you want in the library.

hey! it happenned again! only this time it was my local library's book club. we were picking a book for next month, and *poof* the first book i grabbed off the shelf (i had my eyes shut, but know my way around our -miniscule/two bookcases long- library's yas section so well, i knew EXACTLY were my hand would land. wel, give or take a few books) and everyone LOVES it. whoo and freaking hoo!

I never thought that I would be able to do this, but I've managed to convince some people from Uni to read SYWTBAW! One person has had it for about two weeks now, and she also has my copy of DW, but I already have two people lined up to read it after her Long Live the Nerds at Uni!

24 hmmmm thats what about £17 in the UK? Thats about right but they are a little expensive, hahaha I remember when I bought 6 SYWTBAW books in one go! WOW what a decrease in my bank acount! But when they come out in paper back they are not that expensive (I dont think!), and hardly any come up on ebay! In fact I have seen only three in the last year!

I have mentioned these books to loads of people, I have converted one whole family and I tried with my little cuz's but they have not got into them! Here at Uni its way to hard!

In the U.S., a paperback SYWTBAW costs only about $6, though the hard cover is much more expensive, at about $17. ( Boy, this topic has gone off topic with time)

I told a couple of my friends to read this series last year. Some of them liked the idea of wizardry, but one of my friends thought it was silly and said that she would only read it if I promised to read a book for her that SHE liked. I ended up not even reading her book, (which, I think was one of the Dragon Rider books by Anne McCaffrey...erghhh, I do NOT like that series, though the author is Ok, if I spelled her name right) and she got angry that I didn't read HER book so she claimed that she didn't like SYWTBAW. I don't really know if she was lying or actually being honest, but I didn't really care enough to investigate. We are all open to our own opinions.

None of this has anything to do with "When you see someone in a store with SYWTBAW, what do you do?", though. Look what Caitlin said at the beginning of this page,
wow, did this thing get off topic. cool off topic, but waaaaaaay off topic.
I'm not saying that going off topic is BAD, at all. On the contrary, it seems to liven up dwindling conversations, which is a totally good thing. And wow, it's something that I have just achieved. What does this have to do with seeing SYWTBAW in a store? Nothing, exactly. Ok, I'd better go before I get TOO off topic and start babbling about a certain White Dragon duelist...Oops, too late for that.

I was a little disappointed to find that the paperback with the Anniversary Edition's artwork on the cover does not contain the short story "Uptown Local" the way the hardcover anniversay edition does. It does have a teaser from Deep Wizardry, however.

(and maybe that was a bit off-topic. and maybe this is, too: we have extra money in the fiction budget! I am agitating for more YW books.)

heh. a very good point. I just wanted to see what ya'll do when you happen on someone with a YW book. yet another case in point: i was at borders last weekend, and I was sitting there debating the merits of getting the son of summer starts (meredith ann pierce, 3rd in the firebringer trilogy...FANTABULOUS books, i totally reccomend those, too) and the reading teacher at my school, mrs. melfa (the coolest teacher there, too, even if she does only teach jr. high) comes wandering past the lone shelf looking at the books. so we strik up a conversation about... well, what else?... books, specifically sci-fi/fantasy ya books. apparantly, she wants to teach a good one, but isn't real sure what to do. so i grabbed sywtbaw off the shelf and reccomended it. i caught a glimpse of her when she left, and it looked lie she bought it. so whoo and hoo! i LOVE reccomending books. now if only borders wasn't so far away, i'd work there this summer... ::tear::

dai stiho, forest! if you want your library to have more, talk to your librarian (unless he/she's an old dragon that strikes frear even into the hearts of the teachers, like mine) to see if you can get some good stuffe. most librarians are cool like that.

                                whoo ten posts to 200!
