Best YW book? I think they're all way awesome. But I'd have to say the 2 that stick out for me are Deep Wizardry and The Wizard's Dilemma.

I don't know about anyone else but my reson for liking the seiries so much is 'cus they give ya that whole "relistic feel" while still giving ya a dark, twisted and unpredictable storyline.

When I read those 2 books, it was always like, "how the heck are they gonna get outta this?" or "what else can they do?"

Story cut short: DW and TWD have a storyline where it builds up suspense and ends with a sweet and a worth-while ending.

'Kay, I'm done with the critic show...

After much contemplation, I have figured out what the best YW book is.

The yet-to-be-published-but-hopefully-someday-in-the-future YW series OMNIBUS!!!! With ALL of them in it. THAT is the best YW book ever. (Or will be... um....)

I loved this book. I thought it was the best. I only started reading the series last year, but I loved it when Nita and Kit are saving the whale and Nita talks about how she could feel the whale's pain and struggle. I also loved when Nita was telling Carl she didn't want to die, but that she knew everyone would see her again. My favorite part of all was when Nita and Kit told her parents about being wizards and showing them some of the things they could do.

I loved it when they took Nita's parents to the moon, with all the political leader talk.

That said, I have a natural affinity for A Wizard Abroad (even though I know I'm vastly outnumbered here.) There's something about the old Irish Mythology that gets to me. And Ronan, of course.

            They're all so good. I can't make a choice!

I agree with you, Drea. I LOVE the old irish mythology. And it is very very nice to find someone in here who doesn't hate Roana's guts. Amazingly enough, there are a lot of people in here who hare him. I wonder...

I don't know if this is my favorite book, but it definitely is the one that made me realize these books are different from anything that I've ever read.
But, I really do love that one scene where Nita and Carl were talking...It choked me up a little bit.

Dai from a newcomer, everyone. This is my first post. (I hope that doesn't mean I'm on Ordeal. )

It's a good first post - sorry I had to edit it. If you select all this white text, you should still be able to read it. As this is the Deep Wizardry forum, spoilers for later books have to be hidden, so that people can read the forums for the books they've read, without having later books spoilt - Peter

I have to agree that DW is the best book. Number 1, it's one of two that I actually own, besides WH. Two, it was the book that got me started on the series. I read it before I read SYWTBAW because it had whales on the cover. You know what? I really am weird sometimes.
But still, it's one of the best books in the series, possibly because of the choices Nita has to make in it.
I agree with L.Raven. The characters do feel very real in the series. But as she said, that's another post.

That one was really good. I admit I even cried over it But my favorite one was WA.

I certainly agree that Deep Wizardry is the best YW book. I like the referance to Jormugand towards the end, and how he actually appeared, though not as the Norse invisioned him. Like there is truth in myth...

                          ...Don't make me choose, please...

Ok, this book wasn't my favorite. W@W was the best, I think. After that comes AWA and DW tied for second. DW was a really emotional book, and I really liked it, but at some points, i think that they dragged it on talking just a little too much for my liking.

I really liked when Nita was talking to Carl about her realizing she was going to die...
I don't know why.. I guess it just seemed real in an unreal situation...

deep wizardry was definatly not the best book in the series. it was one of the best, but i think that the best was so you want to be a wizard.

Apparently I'm very much in the minority. I love all the books, but I can think of at least three that I enjoyed more than DW. I'm not really sure why.
