Heh, well at least you're not alone, Nature_wind.

'Nella! (Leah) There are three of us. My favorite was actually A Wizard Alone, and that happens to be everyone's least favorite. *grumble grumble* Maybe that means I'll need to reread the entire series; I think I might've put a year a time between them.

I put "don't make me choose" because my favorites really depend on my mood. Most of the time, DW is my second favorite of the series, only beaten by AWD, which is also my favorite book of all time. I really liked the whales' songs in DW, and I have a few of them memorized from reading the book so often. "Not old enough to love as yet / but old enough to die indeed..." The poetry is so beautiful! I also like the scene where Nita and Kit tell Nita's parents about wizardry and have to take them to the moon in order to prove it.

Too difficult a choice...don't make me choose, hehe.

I love DW like the rest of the series, but it makes my stomach knot! Doesn't matter I know how it will end, no matter I've read it at least half a dozen times.

I just started reading DW again. I love that book. I'll probably get through it in a few days, a record for me. I tend to take longer to read a book... But this is still my favorite. Or maybe the one when they go to Ireland. I love the ocean, cats, and Europe, so yea. I still absolutely love Deep Wizardry!!!!!

Okaaaay... That post was completely useless... But oh well!

I love DW too. It's deffinatly one of my favorites. I absolutly love them all though. The first time I read it it made me cry. I love the one where they go to Ireland too. That was a good one aswell.

Out of all the books, even the first one, this has always been my favorite. Maybe it has something with the setting being by the sea but I LOVE this book.

I think that, for me, DW is the best of the books, but HW's computer stuff and the fact that I identify with Dairine makes it more fun for me.

The thing is that DW also has the added bit of Nita coming clean to her folks. This is the bit you generally don't see in -any- YA fantasy novels. And I like the way that the time-flowing-differently thing works in the opposite direction of your Narnian expectations.

I have read only the three first books, so I'm not the right person to choose...

Well, because I'm from Finland (Thats why my bad english =D), I read the books in finnish. The text is not from DD's hands, because Kaisa Luntinen has turnet it into finnish. Um, is that way to say it in english? In Finland we say it like that... Anyway, I liked the first book ver much. I loved it. I was only about nine when I read the second one. First it was almost too scary and dark to me! But when I found it again, I thought it was better than the first one.
The third one is now really new. I have readed it only once, and I think its good. But not so good as first and the second. But I cannot make a choise yet... Sorry! ^^

Offtopic: I'm really new here, and looking for PM friends. yes, I can talk about DDs or weather. Or scool. Or nature. Or anything. or not. Okay, that was only a joke... Me and my great humour...

Edit: Thanks, Fox! Forget the PM's, I recognised that here's a chat! And I have read the youngwizards.com completely, so I know that there is eight YW books, but in stores there is only few english books. No YW. :/

it's up there with High Wizardry and A Wizard Abroad. I think that, like Caitlin said, there is no best YW book.

Bah. Can't choose a "best YW book".

That said, however, I do rate DW as being one of the best in the series. It was actually the first one of the three that I picked up, and it stuck with me for years afterwards, even when I hadn't read the other ones yet.

But this one, AWA and WH are my favourites. I think. For right now, anyway.
