Sorry, this post might be in the wrong thread, but I thought I should post it here because it's about this thread.

I think that this thread should have a permanent place next to the recent postings because if it's not recent when a newbie comes, and they can't find it, they won't be able to introduce themselves. Just a thought.

Gwendi, you don't need to worry about that. This thread is "featured" so it always shows up at the top of the Newbie forum, just like the FAQs (that's what the red exclamation mark means). Newbies should be able to find it easily, as long as they enter the Newbie Zone. There's no need to continually bump it with new posts.

About your display name question. You can always PM one of the mods, kli6 or Garrett Fitzgerald, and ask if you can change your name.

There used to be a thread on that... Anyway, I hope I helped!

Be aware, however, that we don't do this often, so make sure the new name you pick is one you want to keep for a while. Try to futureproof, as it were.
