  • Hungry has crawled out from under her mountain of homework! Rejoice, oh people of the YW forums! Lol, I have too many random things like that in my head.

So...today, I turned a corner and ran right into the guy I like. Literally ran into him...very awkward. Hehe...ice cream is good, you guys.

I like your poem Emilie, it's really good. Well written, and the descriptions are cool too...I'm a horrible critic, but I like your poem!

At cross country today, we were talking about Halloween. I'm not dressing up this year, because I'm too old to go out and beg for candy, and no one I know is having a party, so...what's the point in dressing up? Also, I haven't been keen on Halloween since I switched to public schools; all people dress up as is, um, sexy things like fairies and stuff, and, well...I'm not the kind of girl who can wear stuff like that without feeling stupid, so...oh, and there is no way I'm going as a Doublemint twin with my friends. I've never even seen the commercial they're talking about. Mom says I should dress up as an iPod; I just laughed.

    I really strongly dislike Halloween.

ONE MORE DAY UNTIL THE WEEKEND! AYEE!

    • Emilie: I really like it.

Lovey (you do remember her, right? At least everyone not too newbie-ish should...) is making a list of things she wants to do before she graduates. She has 42 things, but wants 50. Any suggestions? *is brain dead*

Oh, and she said to say "hi" to everyone here for her.

I'm tired...*yawn* I can't think of anything else to say.

      • Hee... They like me..

Yeah. It was for school, but it turned out well in spite of that... My mom's always like "Let me see! Let me see!" whenever I write something, and then I say no because she's very critical--"I don't like it; therefore it's junk." So that made me kinda sad. Only then they liked it at Creative Writing (the class I wrote it for) and now you guys like it! Yay!

        Fred--nice, only until is w/ 1 l...
        Aah! Pedantness! Forgive me, Fred...
Horses are talked about too much in general, I think: if you've ever been around them, you know that the real things they don't tell you are the sweat, and the poop, and the pee, and the shedding hair that gets all over you, and the pervading smell, and the misplaced hoofs (most of the horses I've known were nice, but didn't always think about what they did to you HURTING...) Yeah. But riding horses is fun.

Halloween. For halloween I'm going to be God (someone in this forum suggested it, I think in chat, but I don't remember who. Sorry...) and wear a lei and a little fairy mask and a "Hello my name is" sticker and write GOD on it.
I'm also going trick-or-treating w/ my 11-yr-old sister. She says she's gonna be embarassed, but that's not true, right?
        Right?

        • Ummm...I'm wet. Very wet. It was raining, and I went to a football game. In the rain. For three hours. So fun, I had on about 5 shirts under my hoodie, and my spandex running tights under my jeans, so I wasn't too cold. We lost though, 14 to 28, but hey, at least we scored this time!

I agree with Emilie: horse DO stink, and are everything she said they were. That's why I love being around them. Don't ask.

School was funny today, just because it was a Friday, and Fridays are funny.

OH! One of the girls on my cross country team got a new acoustic guitar for her birthday, and we were at her house before the football game, and she sang us this funny song she wrote about one of her friends. It was so good, I knew she could sing, but didn't know she could play guitar and write music too...wish I could play the guitar. But the song was really funny, and sounded like the person she wrote it about too, so that's good.

Okay...have to go put my Under Armor tights in the dryer, or hang them up or something so they're dry for the x-c meet tomorrow, because it's going to be cold and wet and soggy. Blech. I'm going to freeze before winter even starts.

          • I saw our school musical today. It's nickname was "Stunts." It was really good, but also extremely wierd... it's about this kid who had was made fun of in high school, who becomes a reality TV billinaire, and calls in like the jocks and preps and everyone from his old school and makes them compete for money on an island on an TV show and choke on poisonous mushrooms, all to win a girl's heart for revenge....

I'm also going trick-or-treating w/ my 11-yr-old sister. She says she's gonna be embarassed, but that's not true, right?
            Right?
So am I with my eleven-year-old sis'. Hehe, the people will probably think I'm crazy, a highschool student saying "trick or treat give me something good to eat," but you get free candy...I'll DEFINATELY be there XP...Except I'm very short, so maybe that won't happen...

I went to the doctor today. They took four large test-tubes of my blood. Four, and in the largest size that they had, like each took was six inches tall (they had the sizes out on display >_> ). It wasn't painful at all, and I watched the needle go in my arm and everything. It's very interesting. But afterwards, even if it wasn't so much blood they took, I was fatigued and my arm was shaking my the time she closed the last test-tubeful of blood. The test tubes were warm...

            I really strongly dislike Halloween.
Wha?? HATE Halloween? Halloween is like one of my fasvorite holidays. It's all spooky and they give out free candy, how can you hate that?! I can't WAIT for Halloween.

Does anyone know what they're going to be for Halloween? Is anyone going to dress up at all?? Me and my friend are going to cosplay as anime characters. XD I'm going to be Inuyasha, with long white hair and dog ears... joking... I'll probably end up not dressing up at all.

Unicorns of Balinor? I used to be obsessive interested in those books. I have...I think eight of them, but then they stopped being published. I think it was because of a lack of interest in the series. *shrug* It has always bugged me how it ended on a bad note.
Yeah, I have eight too. Got in a packet. I liked that series, it was not my favorite or anything but I still liked it. They didn't continue it though?? I didn't know that. Awww...

So you just type whatever here? Skittles. Cool. That's fun.

I liked Sabriel, if only because I really liked the idea of all those bells. I thought that was pretty cool. I didn't like Lirael so much, or Abhorsen... but then, I have to read everything twice before it gets through the mess my mind tends to be in... I remember, though, that I always loved Garth Nix's ideas about magic. Not near as much as I like DD's ideas, since you can sum her's up in a few well-chosen sentences and I always liked that... But he had some cool spells in there, I remember... Er, no I don't remember any of them...

Now I have to go to the library and get those books, or else I'll die of lack of information.

You think I'm joking, don't you?

I need to clean out my head. It's starting to look like... hmm... the house of somebody who has four toddlers and a babe-in-arms, and was never the neat type anyway... Dirty dishes and bread crumbs and construction paper confetti... I think I have crayon scribbles all over my mind. No, not crayon. Bic pen. Or--wait, no, it's those one type that write so smooth that--hang on, I gotta go check. Uni-ball! Okay, people, uni-ball pens are THE BEST in THE WORLD!! Except that you gotta be kinda careful with some of 'em, because it isn't hard to make 'em spring a leak. So yeah. My mind is a big arena. And all the walls are covered in paper that I put on with a staple gun, so I go around with my arsenal of writing instruments and write on the walls. And then--you know that scene in A Beautiful Mind where Nash is in this room surrounded by newspaper articles and magazines and printouts and stuff, and he just turns around and looks from paper to paper? Yeah, that's what my mind is like. When the wall-papers are filled up, I take them down and put them on the floor somewhere. And then I'm stitting here scribbling little notes in a notebook and tearing out the pages and putting them on the floor. And I've got sticky notes too. The papers are, oh, almost six inches deep now.

I know where everything is. It just takes a long time to get to it. :/

Anybody else think I need to do some spring cleaning?

By the way, Wildflower, did you know that you can change the settings for your mouse pad so it doesn't click when you tap it? Yup. You go to control panel on Windoze, and I think you go to system preferences on Mac. But I dunno, because I've never done it on a Mac laptop.

Hey Cassandra, where'd you get the fake book? I want one!

I remember one time when I had to do a free-verse poem for English (because my teacher--who was amazing--didn't believe in rhyming poems) and I didn't want to do it, and I had writer's block because of that... So I wrote it about writer's block. It had a bunch of really bad, cliched first lines, each one with a frustrated comments like SAPPY! DUMB! Or something like tht. And then at the end I put something about how much writer's block sucks. Yes, the poem sucked. However, my teacher did think it was funny, if nothing else, and I got a good grade anyway...

I HATED that class, no matter how cool the teacher was.

She was REALLY cool though. She was new, and the type who really understood the kids and wanted to be friends with them. And I'll never forget the first day she came in and winced at the stack of papers she was supposed to give us (first day of school--legal stuff, get your parents to sign this, etc.)--then grabbed the stack and threw it at us like a frisbee. Papers flew everywhere. A couple got stuck in the ceiling tiles. By the end of the year, we had multicolored papers hanging from the ceiling. It was, without a doubt, the greatest class I've ever studied in.

Despite the fact that I only barely passed. A couple of times I'm not sure I really did pass at all.

I liked what I learned, I didn't like the assignments. The rest of school was like that too. I don't like the way they teach. So I got bad grades.

That's what I get for being stubborn, I suppose.

Halloween's coming and I DON'T CARE! Which worries me, so I guess in a way I DO care... Meh. I haven't done anything for Halloween since I was what, ten? Nine? It's kind of sad. I was talking with a friend of mine--he's a hippie type of guy. And he's really weird. Dye his beard red, white and blue kind of weird. I don't know what's going through his mind half the time. But he's funny, so whatever. Anyways, he was talking about halloween costumes. Things like... Pinning those white paper plates and crumpled up printer papers and such to his shirt, calling himself 'white trash'. Yes, they were ALL puns. And they were pretty funny too... Wish I could remember the rest...

                      Okay, I'm done.

                      Randomly yours,
                      ~L

                      • My living room wallpaper has ducks on it.

I swear. I'll take a picture of it sometime and post it, just because it's officially the weirdest wallpaper ever, 'cept purple. Or the wallpaper from the bathroom in Florida, which was orange and had stripes and gears.

                        I had something I was going to post, and I've been trying to think of it for the past twenty minutes. >.<;

Friday night, I went to a Halloween/birthday/sleepover party at J's (J-my-friend, not J-my-brother; J's the friend I got SYWTBAW for), and we had way, way too much candy (I've discovered that, like Roshaun, I crunch my lollipops). J was really sugar-high the whole time, and she was right when she said she wouldn't remember any of it in the morning (I asked). We tried to watch the Birds, but the tape screwed up in the middle. After the Haunting started, J fell asleep; K was already curled up on the bed. I was awake through the whole thing, and discovered that, if you wait for a VHS to reach the static at the end of the credits and attempt sleep without shutting the TV off, the static will get louder every few minutes until you're sure the whole neighborhood can hear it. XD It's annoying.

Saturday, J-my-brother wanted to stay for a while before going home, to play Super Smash Bros. with C (J-my-friend's brother). I joined in after a while, and we (J-my-brother, C, me, and M [C's friend]) wound up playing until four in the afternoon. Heh, it was fun though. I even won a couple of times, but I'm a buttonmasher and the world knows it... XD

If you've ever heard the Garnier Fructis [shampoo and conditioner] commercials, chances are you've heard the song I'm listening to now. It'd bugged me for MONTHS, every time I saw the commercial, because I didn't know what song it was. XDD I finally remembered to look it up... it's Transplants - Diamonds and Guns, btw.

Still don't know what I was going to post, but chances are I've already posted it and not realized.

[adds] Ooh, two of my posts on the same page. How long has it been since that's happened?

Are they supposed to have anything to do with graduation, or are they just random? Because if they're random, it would be easier, not that I can think of anything either way... XD

I'm going to be an assassin... wear all black, carry a badly-made (made in a parking lot, out of cardboard and aluminum foil) katana, do a headband, face paint, etc... only I can never remember how many... what's the plural of S? Overrated with a capital O, huh? I wouldn't say that... maybe commercialized, but not nearly as much as Christmas; I mean, none of the stores even have any Halloween decorations up. They had Christmas ones in September, and all they're doing now is adding more.

                            • Today I have what, maybe 20 minutes before school starts? Instead of playing around in solitaire, I'm coming here (oh, joy!), because, well, no one wants to play solitaire for 20 minutes straight (or not, but whatever). Yesterday. Yeah, yesterday I spent two hours filling up four pages (front and back of all four) with my bio homework. When I was almost done, I nearly cracked while trying to be as thorough as I could so I got as many points out of it as I could squeeze before the next test.

Last week was another history test, but I think I might've done alright. The day before, I crammed by typing up all of the useful notes and text that I could find. Writing it all down might've been better, but I can type faster than I write and I had limited time 'cuz we were going to some awards banquet for school. It was so boring I could've killed myself, and I'm not going back next year. Nooo. I saw some of my friends, but didn't get to talk to any of them because people had assigned tables.

Ohhh, we rented and watched an anime movie over the weekend, and it had previews for Advent Children. XD The next day, I pulled the PS out of my brother's room and hooked it up downstairs so I could play FF7 (Advent Children is the sequal to it). We put the N64 into some cabinet with a lot of cookbooks because we didn't know where else to put it (Bro didn't want it in his room).

Umm... what else. I started reading Magic Knight Rayearth, which was an old manga my aunt got for me, and my friends convinced me to reread it. It's soooo boring. If I ever shop for fantasy/action mangas, I'll look through to see if they have anything other than fighting.

                              • Hello all.
Proceed to ignore me if you don't like ranting

Today we had a play rehearsal at school for a Neil Simon play, The Good Doctor. Okay, you say, so what?

Well, friday is when it's going up. The crew doesn't know when to be quiet: they're loud when you're acting, when they're changing sets, when they're changing sets WHILE you're acting. They constantly run into curtains, are in sightline, or put things in the wrong place. Plus, there's not enough of them. Or at least, not enough of them who actually TRY to be productive. I admit, there are some backstage stars: the guy who brings on a flat by himself comes to mind, as does the guy who pushes a couch alone across the stage. But they're the exceptions.

Plus, the director doesn't know very much about directing, so we kind of suck, except she's not horrible at casting so at least we know what we're doing. Today we were talking about a scene change directly after my scene (they're all vignettes, so we each get just one scene, except for people who play more than one person)...yeah. So directly after my scene the crew says, "there's not enough people to pull this off." So Mrs. Director starts looking for cast members to do this.

Fine. That's great. That's what cast members are supposed to do. But not just after they've walked off stage! However, apparently nobody else was AVAILABLE, so directly after I walk offstage IN PETTICOATS, I go back ONstage and move a (quite heavy) bench with my fellow actor. What about suspension of disbelief, huh?

Plus, the guy who does the lights not only has no idea HOW to do the lights (therefore tech took a long time yesterday, even though it should have been programmed into the computer already) he WASN'T THERE TODAY! Because that's supposed to be really smart, right? And the spotlight was always either on the wall or the ceiling, or unfocussed.

Thank you for allowing me this rant...

                                Emilie
