      • I've finished burrowing through Princess Diaries, enjoyed it quite a bit (yes, even though I'm male. What can I say?). I can't find any of the other books except for Timeline, which I've read many times over. The idea of a YW graphic novelification sounds truly intriguing, I for one wouldn't mind seeing such a thing spark into existance.

        • Heck, I'd just be happy if someone TPB'd all the issues of The Dreamery, just so's I could read all of DD's Prince Ivan the not-too-Experienced stories in one swell foop.

          • Heh. Are graphic novels fair game? That's a dangerous button to push with me; I'm doing a project on them for my Library Science class. Some suggestions are:
            Watchmen
            League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
            Sandman
            Transmetropolitan
            Kingdom Come
            Girl Genius
            Elfquest
            Usagi Yojimbo
            Buck Godot

All but Girl Genius, Elfquest, and Usagi Yojimbo should be rated at least PG-13 (well, sometimes Elfquest slips towards the higher end), with occasional flashes of R, but they are all good reads. I'm sure kli6 and/or Rysade have further elaborations on my list; this was discussed in another thread. I don't follow manga much; I leave further elaboration upon that as an exercise for the student
"Thus is Balance maintained." A Wizard of Earthsea
"Condensing fact from the vapor of nuance." Neal Stephenson, Snow Crash

              • Earwen? Sure you don't wanna be called Kat? Earwen makes me think of earwig. And earwigs mae me think of this one book with talking earwigs that could read people's minds. What was that book...? The Hounds of the Morrigan! Oooh, I HATED that book! Sorry, just my opinion. Loathed it, I did. GRRR.

                Sorry 'bout that, Kat. :P

So far I don't have ANY of the book swap books that I swapped for. Aug. I oughta just drop out of this. It isn't going well for me.

I'll just sit on the sidelines and suggest books. Does that sound good?

DB, I'll swap the Once and Future King (T. H. White) for Lost Years of Merlin. It's about King Arthur. Right now I'm in the whole Middle Ages thing. ^_^ King Pellinore was my favorite character, full of medieval randomness. If you've read that I'll gladly go dig up another.

                      • Gryphon - Earwen is elivsh for sea-maiden. If really makes you think of earwigs then I can use the spelling of Eaerwen instead as it is meant to have umlutes (thoes dot things above the vowels in German - I cannot remember how they are spelt) which are not anywhere to be found on my computer and the extra "e" replaces them. So it is suppoesed to be said e-air-wen. No ears invloved.
Soooo, anybody want to swap "Good Omens" with me?

                        • Ooo. Okay, I'll try saying it like that. Good Omens. Isn't that by Terry Pratchett? Might be one of the ones my library says it has! Maybe. Oh. I think it is by Terry Pratchett because you're from Ankh-Morpork. :P I'll swap! Hmmm....... Maybe I'll have you read Crusader too.
