Aurora: *huggles* Sounds nasty...I'm lucky, I haven't had to deal with much racism. Actually, I only know a couple Asians...most of my friends are white or Latino. And the couple Asians I know, I met through white friends. Odd. Wonder if that says something about me, about Michigan, or about life in general.

I don't really have to deal with that much racism. Livin' large in Minnesota. Even though I'm Eithiopian I have Eithiopian friends and white friends and asian friends. But most of my friends are white.
I talk to my cousins and they don't believe me. They're all like: your friends are white? Don't ya'll got any black friends?
That's okay though, I love my cousins, they mostly live in Philly or DC. They're all really nice about racism too.

Most people call me by my first name, Rebecca, though there's one weird kid who calls me Rebec. And then there's my other friend who calls me Feeki, like the baboon in the Lion King. See, another friend started calling me Rebeeka, which led to Rebeekie, which led to Rafeeki/Rafiki (the actual baboon's name), which led to Feeki.

My school is made up of preps, geeks, weird people, and those-who-don't-fit-in-a-group, and those who belong to more than one group. I belong somewhere in the middle of the geeks/weird people/those-who-don't-fit-in-a-group.

Z-I totally understand having realatives asking you if you have any friends who are "the same." I am CONSTANTLY told to find a "nice Jewish boy." My cousin thinks that I'm a nut because I speak more Chinese than Hebrew. I, personally, couldn't care less. I'd rather have friends who like me for my personality, not my race.

That's probably one of the easiest things about the internet. Because unless someone tells you or you're in a race-specific forum, (I assume there are race-specific forums. There are country and religion specific ones, so presumably race too.) you have no idea what race people are- so you can't judge on that. It must make it really hard for racists to function on the internet....
