Awesome book, totally awesome - even if a lot of what he said about Judaism is false. I also saw a picture of the Last Supper - very cool, no? I want to go to the Louvre so badly, to see the paintings and everything!

Hmmm. I just got the weirdest feeling that I've said this all before...

WHAT??!! You've never heard of the DaVinci Code!? Wow.... guess it's only popular in the states..... It was a bestseller, I think it still is and it came out like a year and a half ago or something... Anyways, it's about the Holy Grail, this guy, Robert Langdon, is a historian/writer of some kind and he's in France for some meeting or something and he gets called to the Louvre by the French police (I think... Haven't read the book since November or December) because there was a murder there, I think he had been the last person to see the guy who got murdered. Yeah... And it's really interesting to read it so I'm not gonna tell you anymore about it, but it's SO awesome!!
FW, I know I'm only 13 (Just today! ) and that causes a lot of ppl to think I don't understand things in a lot of books but I do. I read Jurassic Park, The Lost World, and Timeline last year and I understood it all. I read a book that said: "For 18 and older" on it when I was 10 or 11.... It was a good book, Daughter of Ireland, a little strange and gross at some parts... but interesting. And I understood DaVinci completley, there might have been a few puzzles that I was confused by, but that's the same with most ppl. I understood it better than my mom did. She didn't want me to read it but I got a hold of a copy and she didn't seem to mind too much....... except when I started talking about it to my grandparents. Bad idea.
Sorry if that sounds like I'm bragging or something, but I feel offended when people say I'm too young for something that I know I'm fine with. Especially with books.
Read Angels and Demons if you liked DaVinci code, It was sooooooooooooo good!!! Better than DaVinci code even.

I haven't read the DaVinci Code, but it's on my list, and it's pretty well-known here- you tend to get people mentioning it as the last good book they read, and so on.

As for reading age- keep it up, Agent M. Reading levels are pretty much rubbish anyway: people read where they want to, and comprehension has an awful lot more to do with vocabulary and how much you practice reading than it does with age.

I read it too. And everybody was like "Isn't that book a little complicated for you?" and I was "No, It rocks!" I absolutely loved that book, I might read it again even but now I'm re-reading His Dark Materials.

Diego: I know how you feel, and read Timeline and Jurrasic park, you'd like them, and so would everyone else here... Well most of you guys anyways.
I went to the bookstore a little while ago and asked the info guy where the Michael Crichton books were (I thought they were in Sci Fi, turns out they're actually in Adult Fiction...) and the guy asked me "Are you getting a gift for someone?" Grr...

                    • Ooh, ooh, Count of Monte Cristo! Yaaay!
One of my all-time faves. Dumas is so awesome! Was introduced to him around third or fourth grade via Three Musketeers. Ever read the Black Tulip? Another good one...

                          • Hmm... I haven't read a lot these days... I like sleeping. Sleeping is great. ^^ XD Well, I'm re-reading 'Shogun' by James Clavell right now for school, and it's a heck of a long book... Yeah.

I agree, the whole 'age limit' thing is silly. But for me, they were fairly accurate- not because I COULDN'T read them, it was more that I COULD, but I wasn't interested in them because y'know.. I was still a kid. I liked... kid stuff. You could say that I had the ability, but not the maturity. Hah.

Know what annoys me though? My local bookstore places most of the manga (japanese comics) in the kids section. Know what's wrong with this? For things like Cardcaptor Sakura, nothig. Kare Kano and Hot Gimmick would probably be much more age-appropriate in the teen section, because it's more teenage stuff. And I found Confidential Confessions in the kids section. *throttles bookstore people* Confidential Confessions! I'm sorry... Confidential Confessions is a manga about the issues in society, and the first book ALONE is about suicide and prostitution. *sigh* I mean, I know I just said I don't agree with the whole "age limit" thing, and now I sound like a hypocrite (which I am... ^^''), but... Do you want YOUR kid exposed to issues like suicide and prostitution? Yeesh... the book even has on it a little square thing that says "16+" on it. Obviously, I didn't pay attention to that, but I mean.... Kids section to me means younger than 10 years old. I don't feel Confidential Confessions has a place there.

I am a flipping hypocrite. Oh well. ^^''

By the way, Confidential Confessions, as a series, is one I highly advocate reading. The books are, again, about issues in society.. and the first book, about suicide and prostitution... was really... I dunno, but it had a heck of a strng effect on me. I understood. I finished reading, went "Oh my god..." Then cried at the sadness of it all. Because... it was true. the main character of the suicide story, Manatsu, said "I didn't want to die... but I didn't want to live either." And I'm sure a lot of people have felt that way.
