  • "Start spreading the news (dumdum-dee-dum dum) I'm leaving today (Dum dum-dee-dum-dum)..."

The moment of truth at last. "Leaving on a Jetplane" has been playing in my head all day. Debbie has been singing Frank Sinatra at me all day. I've been bouncing up and down for the past week.

I LEAVE FOR NEW YORK TODAY!!!!!

In fact, I'm leaving the house in an hour, and I leave Wellington in three and a half hours, and I leave the country in seven and a half hours, and, andandandand, I'M GOING TO MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH. I mean, I'm WAY EXCITED, because NEW YORK!!!

I didn't say that loud enough.

    NEW YORK!!!!! *_*

    Meh.

Anyway, for two weeks, "this is goodbye..."

    Miss ya.
    Love ya.

Yay!! Go Tui! *huggles for good luck* You're meeting Rysade there, yes?
      Or am I misinformed?
Anyway...have fun...and remember everything to tell us.

The important thing about adventures, thought Mr Bunnsy, was that they shouldn't be so long as to make you miss mealtimes.

*huggles back* I'll talk to y'all in two weeks, I expect. Thanks!

Have great fun! We expect a full report when you have access to a computer. Go see the Rose (formerly Hayden) Planetarium -- it's neat. And the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And the Guggenheim, if only for the architecture. And the Museum of Natural History. And... um... *decides to let Tui do some exploring on her own*

Bring warm clothes; there are undoubtedly waist-high piles of dirty snow all over New York now.

Tui, just one little note--our money may drive you a little nuts. All the denominations are the same size and color, so you actually have to read the number in the corner to see how much the bill is worth. (Every Canadian friend of mine ends up fumbling money at the grocery store and muttering, "It's all the SAME color...!") And we still use bills for $1. You might get lucky and pick up a Sacagewea Dollar coin, but it's unlikely.

Have a marvelous time and tell us all about it when you get back!

Congrats, Tui! I'm so jealous; I've never been to New York. Tell us all about it!

Heh. I suppose currency is an issue. To me, it's all easy, but hey! I'm an American. And with Bush in the office, I'm not so proud to be an American.

*hugs Tui, even though she knows she's already gone* HAVE FUN!! HAVE FUN!! HAVE FUN!! Best wishes, you might come back to find democracy has crumbled and the KBA has taken over as a mad dictator...but don't worry! We'll be fine! HAVE FUN!!!

And, OF COURSE, we sang "New York New York" in chorus, and now it's stuck in my head, alongside "Already Gone" (I think that's what it's called) by the Eagles. Song-O-Matic. HAVE FUN, TUI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN THE GOOD OLD USA!!!!!!

But maybe not so great with Bush leading (I swear, if that amendment goes through...it'll be the first time discrimination's been written into the Constitution. Ugh. Bush.)

It will be a sad, empty two weeks without our beloved Tui. But in the meantime...we might as well party in this thread! Of course, a party dedicated soley to Tui and New York.

Apparently, when she said that she was going to NYC in chat, Dave said he might be able to make it. Upon which she said something akin to '...'
And then her mom asked her if there was anyone she wanted to meet in NY, upon which she said something akin to '...um, yeah.'
That's pretty much all I know.

Ella: I think the state of 'one-linerness' is more defined by content than the actual number of lines. I mean, a post that reads:
                              lol!!!
                              ya i totally agree!!!
has much more one-linerness (although it isn't technically a one-liner) than, for instance, your post, which actually says something.
                              </randomness>
