Tui, you must come back to the Northern part of America in the fall you MUST! Are country is the prettiest place on earth in the fall. The leaves on our trees turn (at least in MN) purple, red, orange, yellow, and lighter green. You must come back!!! Try to visit Minnesota...(I think me and Agent M are lonely.) We have 10,000 lakes, the biggest mall in the US and many waterparks in the summer.
Send us pictures! I've never been to NY just to Philidelphia.(Which is in the state right under NYC!

Tui, I'm withya on the dead tree thing. Every fall I used to visit my sister in Seattle and ask her why the trees were all brown and sick and what the heck was all that water doing in the air?

Hope you got to see the Alice in Wonderland statue in Central Park, or the Bethesda Terrace fountain or Dog Hill, or ... well, any part of Central Park is a-ok by me. And don't worry if you miss FAO Schwartz. It's not one of the gotta sees, like the Empire State, the Metropolitan Museum, or the Statue of Liberty (although right now, I'd bet the ferry ride is freezing).

As for delis, if you're a lox & bagels kind of gal, I'd recommend looking to see if anybody's got a smoked sablefish platter. Trust me on this.

Our money washes ok, btw. It's 100% cotton-rag paper, so none of that woodpulp dissolving thingie.

I suppose winter is kinda bare. But with a fresh coating of snow, up here in upstate NY, on all the trees (evergreens and coniferous), it is GORGEOUS!!!

As for the money. I have never had a problem with it, and kinda like it. Yet other countries have better money, i'll admit.

As I said before we need one staned of curancy, langue, and measurement and if the world dosen't like it tough they should be made to.

yeah, well, you know, they did do one collective version of measurement. It's called "metric." And the only country in the world that doesn't use Metric is the USA. And that's because, rich as the country is, they STILL don't have enough money to replace all the signs and change the cirriculum and stuff. So the world only has one system of measurement, Metric, and only one country doesn't follow it.

I think many languages is good because of the different cultures. Maybe you don't appreciate diversity a lot, but I do. As for currency, well, the economy over the world is different in all the countries, so it'd never work.

Yes, we're the slow country. Heh. It's been taking forever to switch over to the metric system. Kinda sad, really, that it's taking so long. Uggg. It's the stupid companies and things that don't have enough money! It's their fault. GRR to them.

Well, you must admit it would take quite a lot of time and effort as well as money to make a country as big as we are switch a very basic system. Not to say that metric isn't better...it is, very much so...but generations have grown up learning in feet and inches.
Tradition can be very stubborn when it wants to be.

                      Yeah...

And think about how many SIGNS and stuff you'd have to replace...

o.O Even America can't afford it!

The SIGNS. And the RULERS. And the CARS. And more signs. and cups. And other stuff!

Soo, unless a few major countries get together and self-destruct, leaving their riches to America, we're stuck with having to convert to metric whenever we leave the country.
Which is, I suppose, good for honing the math skills of the traveling population.
Somehow I highly doubt that was intended.

Just because something is a pest, does not mean it isn't prevalent. In fact the two tend to go togther.I'm sure cockroaches would be considered exotic if they were confined to a coupl of obscure countries. Also, in the UK, grey squirrels are considered vermin, as they are not native to the UK. (They have all but driven out they native red squrriel). It was weird when I lasted visited Canada - I saw a grey squirrel and thoguht "how like home". The I realised that shouldn't be the case....

In the UK, we are mostly on the metric system. The exception is beer (pints all the way), and speed signs (miles per hour). Mosts retailers give the prices per pound/ounce,a s well as per kilo/hundred grammes. If you ask for stuff in imperial, you'll get a rough equivilant in metric.

*waves* I like the metric system! I think it makes so much more sense. But it would take a lot to change. See three-post discussion on said subject ^^^.
