Well, of course you don't, jsut like I never have problems with NZ currency... *sigh* but seriously, I think you need to think seriouisly about giving up pennies. *nods*

As for exchange rate- hah! Okay, exchange rate atm is 69 US cents to 1 NZ dolalr. This is HIGH, the highest it's been, because of course the US economy is terrible at the moment and the NZ one is particularly strong, no idea why. That's changing, unfortunately, but ther you go. Anyway, that's why exchange rates are good at the moment. In terms of me, though, it';s not a particularly good rate because, basically, I get fewer US dollars out than the Kiwi dollars I put it. So, not a hgue amount of money, no.

we walked along Broadway today. t'was fun, if also a little sore on the feet *rubs them* we walked to the Empire State, and went up it. V cool. So tall that I didn't even get vertigo, just because... I guess it was like the height was unreal. I could barely process the thought that I was up that high, forget about enough imagination to think what would happen if I fell.

Tui, did you manage to stop off and get a bowl of matzo ball soup on B'way? I remember being amazed at how one could get great deli food just about anywhere.

And yeah, the top of the Empire State is great. I never felt vertigo, probably because of that massive fence around the top. I love the decco-ness of it, as well.

Strangely, the other building on Fifth Ave. that I enjoyed seeing was the Tishman Building (as Peter David told me: "It looks like the box the Chrysler Building came in.") Bright pink neon "666" on the side. It's where DC Comics used to be headquartered.

Did you make it to Central Park? FAO Schwartz? Tiffany's?

I think the whole world should just have one type of curancy so people won't get confused but governments just mess things up the UN should sreve as the world court and appoint the curancy which should make all countries have the same money wherever you go but it would be a hard ajustment at first but after the thrid generation it should inprove the same with measurements use metric easier!

Oooooh, Tui, you're so lucky! I've always wanted to go to New York. Especially for the library. Yes. Good place to go. Go there and tell me how it is, k?

I have a little phrase I'm very proud of: Money is funny. Ha! Beat that! Best rhyme ever. Anyway, yeah money's confusing. But it is easier knowing that 100 cents equals 1 dollar, so you should be able to go from there since all of our money has its value stamped on it somewhere.

Also, be glad you're in New York. If you think people're weird over there, you never want to come to the MidWest. We are the definition of weird. Although Summerfest is awesome. If you ever come to Wisconsin, come during June. That's for anyone that doesn't live here. Not that you'd actually want to come to Wisconsin, but hey.

Have fun in New York. My homestate. Of course, you'll probably stay in the city, but I am still proud. As Bush tampers with America, but love for my state grows.

I haven't actually ever spent any time in NYC. never. Only the airport.
Hope you get to fly in or out at night. It is an AMAZING sight. Actually, so is flying in during the day.

(Does anyone remember me? I've been gone for so long. Well from here at least. I'm to busy with other sites and other lifely things and I can't seem to hold interest here. *shrug*)

I SO wqnat to see NYC Library. If I don't see it tomorrow, which I'm hoping I will, I';m gonna ask the family that billets me if they can take me there on this sightseeing day we have with them. there, and maybe the Lincoln centre.

been to Central Park, and it was neat... but strange, because of course all the trees were dead- uhm, I mean without leaves. See, almost all trees in NZ are evergreen, not decidous, so it looked really sparse and barren.

The lake was frozen, though. SO COOL! Ice!

FAO Schwartz I haevn't seen yet... it's on the lsit... everywhere's on the list...

Oh! But the COOLEST thing I did today was, I saw 42nd Street on 42nd Street! That was THE MOST COOl THING I have ever seen. or maybe not quite. But. *_* Sooooooo good. Dancing! And singing! And prettyness!
And SET! Whoah, the set...

Yep. So far, everything is very extremely cool. And way too hard to tell about. *sigh*

I know! Up around the New York area, everything looks so bare to me. I've lived in this stae for a long time and I still can't get used to leafless trees during the winter. I'm used to coniferous trees!!!

Tui, you should see the trees in the fall! They're beautufil!!! All the leaves turn red, yellow, and orange.
