The War

<OOC: Maybe I wasn't clear enough for some, but Lilly is under her father's control. She was trying to lure Martina away from the others. Just making sure everyone understands. >

Lilly's heart lifted as Martina left her, but her father felt otherwise. Angry, he brought her to a room in the fortress, where he was pacing briskly. "It seems we must find another way to kill these annoying wizards - though my men are doing a good job," he said to her, showing her flashes of LAND being attacked. Lilly winced inwardly but could not tear her eyes away. "Maybe, with a bit of my power in your weak body, we can destroy them once and for all."

"No!" implored Lilly, knowing full well that nothing she could say would help . "Get one of your monsters to do it. Just please not me!"

Her father laughed. "Why should I listen to you? You've always had a problem with respecting me. Now you have no choice but to follow orders!" He grinned evilly. "I can't wait to see the look on your little friends' faces right before you blow them up. Ahahahaha!!"

<OOC: What can I say? Her father is demented!>

He placed a hand on her face and started to transfer some of his power to her. It was done in a matter of seconds. "Now go," he said, smirking, "and play nicely."

Nightshade, barely awake, spills her magic into the pool. She slips and lands roughly on a rock. "Keep fighting," she wheezes. (controlling three characters is hard) "If I don't make it...Just keep fighting. Ash, you have to save...her." NS faints. Ash, still bleeding from the chest, growls and tears off her sash, using it to stop the blood. She ties it in a bind around her chest, grimacing. She sprouts wings, and carries Talis up to a tree, to an eagle's nest. Diego keeps fighting. "Someone get NS! Bring her up here!" Letalis wheezes. Her pulse rises. She sits up weakly, and opens her mouth, just to vomit again. She tries to talk, but no sound comes out. A gasp-ish whisper: Mo-ve --on. --ju--s-st --el-help --di-e-g-go --a-d n-igh---htsh--ade.

Questing is staring up at Lilly. "Okay, occupancy by more than one, especially involuntarily, is illegal and just plain wrong. Who's got their hands on a handy exorcism spell? Or is this one of those things where we need to invoke Challenge?"

She breathes in hard, already ready to speak the words that usually mean things go bad-- or in this case, worse-- in a hurry. Fairest and Fallen, greetings and defiance...

OOC -- I know someone, or several someones, are powering up for a big spell. What's that about?

Ash begins to heal her chest. She sews the skin together magically, with words and mist. "I don't have time for this crap." She heads to Letalis, spilling the pool across her. Letalis' eyes widen. {Geezuz, ASH! I'll be fine--truly. Only I can he--eal myself! HOLY MUD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY THROAT??????????} Ash grins drily. With a heave, she floods Letalis, who faints with a final {GEEZUZ HOLY MUD!} and drifts to the ground. Nightshade is brought up by...uh...Mhern, a spare footsoldier with minimal magic (?). Ash rolls her eyes, then fixes a splint and mends the gash on Night's leg. Night growls. "I WILL BE AVENGED!!! SPILL, DIEGO! SPILL, ASH!" With a final spill of magic, Letalis starts breathing. "Geezuz."

"There are two souls in that body," said Questing to Martina, waving a hand towards Lilly, who stood impassively on the parapet, ignoring the others. "I can see two of them, or at least one and some part of another, and I believe the part-soul is her father, trying to control her. We need someone who can yank the unauthorized soul out. I don't know the SoulReave spells, and most of our people's spells rely largely on blowing up the offending object. I don't want to blow up Lilly, since she isn't the problem, her father is. And if we don't act fast, we're going to have to contend with the same type of problem I though we'd have with Nightshade and the troll vampire, only much worse. Maybe if I modified one of the spells for curing mental illness..." Questing sits down and begins muttering to herself, drawing patterns in the dust with her finger. Don't mind me...

Martina's eyebrows shot up, and she spent an unconstructive thirty seconds swearing.
"I didn't even notice. What kind of... of something do I think I am! However, I should be able to do something about this. I was never particularly gifted with mental magic but I can definitely do it well enough to kick out an alien force- as long as Lilly doesn't want him in there, which I bet she doesn't."

<OOC: I need to get a better "surprise" tag, that one's such a cliche. Also: Lilly's supposed to be attacking us. So... is anyone so busy right now that they don't have time to keep up witht he War thread and don't mind being a handy death? We can use a random, but RPing a "real" death would be good because it wouldn neatly alert everyone to the danger. And then we can have a nice crisis scene with some people fishing around in Lilly's mind and eveyrone else trying to hold her off without killing her. >

OOC: Since we have at least 3 characters in the "abandoned by author" box at the door, why doesn't someone take one of them and give them a heroic death? I'm not sure who is up for grabs, though, as some of them may have been taken up by other people.

Yes! Take Marama, she's a moon goddess; google her if you want to find out more. I took her name from the Maori and Tui's advice. She's also a cat, although you could play around with that a little. Oh, and you have to resurrect her first. That's pretty easy, though. Just have her summon her strength and blast out of enemy territory into the light of the full moon or have someone do it for you.
But...you don't have to assume a character. You can make up your own. It's just that Marama's already created and whatnot...oh well.
