Ged was "melting" one of the enemy's troops when he saw a strange thing. 2 though-looking army captain being led off by a girl holding a sword. Ged immediately recognized her as Martina and when over to her. What the heck?

"Ah, Ged, just the person I was looking for," Martina said. "These two... louts, I think is the best word... were hanging around. So I grabbed them and brought them out. They're the leaders of the enemy force."

(Ah, Rysade, when and if you confess, you better tell us about a greater force hidden somewhere in the castle...so we can keep this topic moving. Db--What happened was Letalis was leaving to go scry, when she felt this sudden...heartburn? And then she knew that Nightshade was hurt, without knowing how she knew it, and she flew back to help her. She was dead, so Letalis resurrected her by pouring out her power into Nightshade. there is some bond between you, NS, and me, and Letalis and NS are lying there...and you have to save us. happy birthday, by the way. And...PAPERCRANE~~ Please stay in this topic. If you make a mistake in the post, we'll just correct you so you don't get confused. Come on...I joined this topic 22 pages in or so...you can miss a page or two.

"Woah... Leaders? Nah, we're just better than they are," said Rysadeh. Roux yawned and scratched his belly. "We just switched sides because it looked like more fun. When we were with them, we were just two guys in a group of mercenaries... Mmm. Money and killing..." and he shot a glance at Roux, who smiled and nodded.

Rysadeh kept explaining while Roux broke off from the other three to assault a tree for practice. "Anyway, mistress, we are pretty sorry about the disrespect. I don't know much about the other force, because they wouldn't tell us much about what they were doing."

<OOC: BC, I'm going to need a bit more to go on if I want to set this up. What happened to the main force? Were they locked in the castle and burned? (ouch) If the castle is burning, then where would a larger force hide, and, indeed, why would they be hidden, considering they have taken the castle?>

Inconsistency of alleigance is bad for you, it means you can come down with severe stab in the back disease. It could even be fatal!" Martina glanced disinterestedly at Roux. "If he keeps doing that, Questing might do soemthing fatal to him. She likes trees." And it's Ok about the disrespect. Really, it's fine. Just take some mroe notice next time when you get threatened, or I can't answer for the consequences... remember Rule One, article B." *

"Uh huh. Sure. Hey Roux!" Rysadeh checked on his friend. Roux had his sword stuck in the tree he had been assaulting. His feet were propped up against the tree, his body weight on the sword, trying to pull it out. Rysadeh blew the tree away, and Roux went spinning off, clutching the sword. He landed at Martina's feet, where he shook himself off, pulled a splinter out of his hair, and turned to Rysadeh.

"This whole not-killing people thing..." said Roux.

"Sucks, yeah, I know. We can't just stand here and talk while there's things out there that need us to kill them." Roux was jumping, looking like he was pumping himself up.

you never know who your real friends are until the hard times come. When it isn't all happy laughs and fun. sometimes your old friends will rough it & stay. but usuall they tend to fade away. If they fade, do not fear, bcuz better friends are always near.

"Believe it or not, I know how you feel. Nevertheless I also think it's important to pick your side first?"
This interesting idea was met with a pair of blank looks, and she rolled her eyes.
"Oh, never mind. Just restrain yourselves until we get to the whole fighting-the-enemy thing? And please don't blowup any more trees!"

Questing wanders over and fixes Rysadeh and Roux with a fishy eye. "I saw what you did to that inoffensive tree. I'm not really fond of your penchant for taking whichever side is more convenient, but even the Lone Power gets a chance to see the error of his ways. Just remember, you will be watched, and if I catch you even contemplating switching sides again, what you did to that tree will look like a love tap in comparison. I don't like traitors, and repeat offenders even less." The 'inoffensive tree', presently reduced to a splintered stump, sprouts new growth; a new sapling has soon grown from the wreckage.

Martina tapped her finger on her chin and looked thoughtful. "You know-and forgive me for saying this- they are very good at what they do. Thusly, my immediate reaction is to say stick 'em in front of whatever we bang into and let them handle it. " She looked at them. "You know, that might even be our best guarantee of keeping them with us- but there is not absolute guarantee... actually, it's not a problem. I'll keep them with me, and that way I know what they're doing. Sounds good?"

Saffron suddenly swoops down on Rysade on Sorcha. "What were you doing??" "Just blowing up trees like that without even thinking!! You are on the side for life, right??" *Saffron sighs* "Mekkit, watch what's happening around here. I have to go help the troops and see what the heck is going on. Sheesh, there's no rest for the weary. Whoever said that was damn right." She muttered, striding off into the trees, apologizing to them for Rysadeh's behavior as she went.

Roux, who had been 'talked to' by enough females by now to be able to tell just how much he could get away with before they became, as he called it, 'feisty,' snapped to attention. Rysadeh followed suit, though he was less used to following orders, it seemed like a good idea. Neither one liked getting told off by women, so they tried hard to avoid it.

"Well, anyway, Sir, um, Ma'am, well, I know a few things about the enemy that you might find useful. We've been communicating with a spell, it's a mind-touch. I was this group's conduit. The officer I reported to is somewhere on the other side of that mountain range."

(we can make spur of the moment mountain ranges, right?)

"Out of curiosity, what is the current state of the army in the castle?" asked Roux. He was always asking silly questions, thought Rysadeh.
