I believe magic exists. That's different than saying I believe _in_ magic, for religious reasons at least. I mean, think about it. Humans are, essentially, a sack of blood, bones, and neurons that command the brain. If that was all there really was to a person, then life wouldn't be worth living. Being _human_ is different than being a _person,_ or that's how I think at least.
To be a person, you're more than a physical being. There's a part of you that's spiritual/magical, your essence that defines your personality and who you are. Your essence, or soul, or spirit, is shaped in similar ways to your physical body - if you fall down and cut your hand, then you might have a scar, but if you have a traumatic experience, that could mark your spirit.
So basically, you should be able to control your magic/spirit like you control your physical body and mind. That's magic. Think about gym - not everyone is able to climb that rope, or run a full mile in under 10 minutes. But with prompting, you can get better. Same thing with your spirit.
Anyways, I've had a few "supernatural experiences", though they weren't all that super. Mostly predicting things. Just two days ago, a person from church - that we hardly know - called, and didn't leave a message, but I knew exactly why. Another time, I was sitting in the back of a station wagon (I'd just woken up, so my thoughts were groggy) and I started to sing along to the radio. My wandering mind said "Hey, no one could tell I was singing unless they were deaf and could read lips." I looked at a nearby car, and the two people in it were using sign language. There was one other time when I predicted what my dad was going to tell me (I'm not at liberty to say what it was, but I got it right on.)
So maybe mind-reading types of tricks come from "reading" the "spiritual vibes" like you'd read body language - unconsciously, but you know what it means. *shrug* It's just a theory. And one reason for me thinking this so deep is because I want to believe that there's something beyond my frizzy hair and awkward sometimes-stutter (I only stutter when posed with questions from people I don't know).
