I don't believe in magic like you are talking about, though in my own little world it exists (Come visit me sometime, my summer address is somewhere in Sundown State in Unknown World 4 3/4) But I do believe that beautiful things, like Gryphon said, are magic.

I also believe inanimate things can hear you... also like Gryphon said:

    Heh, that's me!!

Like... when we were going to get a new car, we were going to sell our old one to the dealer and I asked mom what we were going to do with it because I didn't know and she said we were going to sell it. Well we were at a red light then, when the light turned green we got through the intersection, then the car stopped.

Also when I talk on the phone my ear hits a button and I say, "God, I hate this phone" then, the phone cuts off... and same thing with my e-mail and computer, and hair dryer.

My hair dryer hates me so I don't use it, last time I said I hated it while drying my hair and not only did the hair dryer stop, the socket it was connected to died AND it fried my hair as it died...

But I don't think that's magic, just inanimate things hearing me...

Why do I have to keep telling people I'm OK? Oh, because they aren't sure I am... then why do I have to keep telling me??

And taking revenge! Those evil little inanimate objects. "You don't like me! Well, I don't like you either so THERE!" Or maybe the car just thought it was funny. :P

Meh. I feel sick. For me, there is a 'too much chocolate.' Meh. Well, with choclate comes Gryphon's sugar-high! Eeeheehee.

OK fine, they're also taking revenge... but... I don't like that idea!! What if one day I make the car REALLY mad and it runs over me, or it stops and someone hits us?? NO!!!!!!!!!!! No I don't like that idea.

Chocolate is always good. Except you have to know your dosage. There's a song out on country radio right now that says:

          Cupid works for the devil
          ........
Chocolate is a band-aid no matter what they say
          ........
          And men don't change

It makes me laugh. My girlfriends and I always turn it up when we hear it. Maybe it's like....sugar induced psychosematic (sp?) healing.

Now then, as for inanimate objects hearing us; I have no objection that they do. As I said before, I talk to my car all the time. The first thing you must do when buying a car is name it. And that also explains why some people are better with electronics. It isn't a patience thing so much as a vibe thing. You need to understand what the computer is feeling in order to fix it.

          Right?

Blow up? Like how? **** off? Like go away? What do you mean? Inanimate objects err... aren't living.

Ugg, I feel real guilty about this short post. I'm feeling skeptical right now. And some newbies (not talking about you, Duncan, or anyone else in this topic) are really getting on my nerves.

                Poot, go away. :P

I made my TV blow(Blank out and spark), it was really weird. I believe in ESP (a little),but it's the little things like scary deja vu that makes me have hopes for magic.

Magic in most forms is real to me. My brother blew up the TV we have downstairs, and our old computer moniter blew up, too. It was kind of cool. The basement was full of smoke when the TV blew. And when we unplugged it and plugged it back in, it started sparking. That amused me, because I love anything to do with explosions and fire. hehe.

I totally believe in Magic, every kind of magic there is. Anyone know where magic even came from? Personally, it had to have been on this earth at one point to even become a myth. ...Maybe it still is MWAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Hi Stargazer and welcome to the boards. You might want to resize your avatar - the biggest that you can have is 100x100 pixels, the same size as a Livejournal icon if you want a reference. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

As for magic - I would say that it would have started as an attempt to explain unknown phenomena - stuff that couldn't be explained any other way. Personally, I'm more of a science person, and I kinda keep magic separate from real life (unless I'm RPing ). Science these days can explain everything that magic was used to explain in days past... well most things anyway. Although, it would be very cool if magic was real - especially the magic from the YW universe.

I'm with you, alla - I'm definitely a science person. I love to read and watch fantasy-type stuff, but I don't believe in any of it. I agree completely that magic, like religion, was invented to explain the world around us when there was no science there to do it.

it had to have been on this earth at one point to even become a myth
That's a fallacy, actually. If every myth had to be real in order for it to become a myth, why, then the earth was once flat and the sun and stars were on a celestial sphere overhead. Also, every god and goddess must have existed at some point, along with Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy.

I want to point out that I'm not saying that your opinion isn't valid; I'm just saying that that argument is incorrect.

Um, dude? You're the one who's posting one liners, and now you tell us to NOT DO IT? Grr.

Magic? I'm tempted not to touch this one with a 20-foot pole.

I, personally, believe there is such thing as magic. But I believe that everything can be explained, and that there is a scientific reason behind most things. This is why I love YW so much. Magic, but with reasoning and science behind it.

Myths are stories, with a little bit based on fact and A LOT made up. Um. BTW, did you people know that the Bible says that a.) the earth is flat b.) the earth is circular c.) the earth is very very very small, and d.) everything on it can be seen if you go up on a REALLY high mountain. Um.

Stargazer: you REALLY need to resize your avvie.

                                About magic:

I don't really know. I think that we should live life to the fullest. Maybe there IS magic. Who's right? Who's wrong? Who cares? And: Who knows?

Edit: Oh, the person who was posting one-liners was Duncan, who said: Don't post one-liners! See the first page. Which kinda irritates me.
