I would definatly become a wizard. I mean, the world of magic is my dreamworld. I know it's got its issues, but, hey so does everywhere else. Might as well get some good in there too. Besides, I love adventure, and wizardry is nothing but.I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

i would love to be a wizard!! I mean, its a way of helping people EVERYWHERE not just were you live. Its true that even i do sometimes look at trees to see if i can read their movements. I just LOVE to read, and before i wasn't that brave but now i've gotten brave. I would put my whole soul into the Art.

totally would. I mean, that's what i basically dream about. i love reading and wizardry. and adventure."Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."

i'm amused at how positive the responses are - and yet not. People that are on this forum would have a high likelyhood of saying yes.
But what are you really saying yes to? Think about it.
You're saying yes to a life that has more death and pain facing you in the eye than otherwise. You're facing a presumably shortened life - those that attract the One's attention will suffer the consequences. You're facing immense power-draining wizardries...and what if your parents reject it?
Think about it - not to sound like the Lone One here - but think about it HARD.Omnia mutantur; nihil interit.

Well, you see Sean, we all have the unusual quality of hindsight (as hindsight-y as this can get). We know what happenns after a wizard takes the oath. We know who the Lone One is, what he does, and what lows he will stoop to. However, when Nita first took the oath, she didn't know that. She didn't know what she was getting herself into. She only knew that it was a crazy jump. I'm betting that Tom and Carl, and Kit, and even Fillif didn't know what they were getting into.
That's what's so cool about taking the leap. You're taking a leap of faith. You're jumping out into thin air, not knowing where you're going to land (or if you ever will). But what's life without those risks?PM: Dai everyone, Caitlin is right

I would defintely take it. actually, I have been really hoping for it, and have even been talking to charecters in books.
I just think the world isn't interesting or exciting enough, and on top of this it is pretty evil.
it would be so cool if I could help the world with this, as well as having adventures.
I know many people who say this don't know what they're getting into, and I probably don't, but I still stand by it.
a small insignificant thing next to all this, my name is Caitlin too, Caitlin! spelled the same even. I hate it when people misspell my name."Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."

You know what, it would be nice. It would be like an alternative world. Escape from the horrible reality. You need to fix a bullying problem, just use some magic. If you need a good vacation place and you've been to every continent, go somewhere else. Somewhere where the average person would not be! I would totally take the oath!

hey balthasar? just a quick sec. i don't think wizardry should be taken so lightly. it drains you of energy, remember, so it might not always be the time of your life. and if you decided to take a funtrip whenever the going gets rough, what king of wizard will you end up like? will the Powers even want or choose someone that careless? oh yeah; since wizardry isnt actually real *longing sigh* no need to take offense. cool?

yeah i know what you mean. no offense taken cause this is totally not real. but are you saying that you don't want magic then? common! sure you would be tired from doing magic, but with the evolution of science, someone's bound to discover some way to prevent that. anyway, asides from "getting tired" do you think you would be all for magic the_peridexis?

I have many qualities of being a wizard. For instance I love to read and am pretty good at picking up languages. I LOVE to help other people and would jump at the chance to be able to do it all around the universe. I would love to be able to talk to everything all around me from trees to animals, and would be a great plus of being a wizard. I used to barely be brave but recently I have gotten better but would still be pretty scared to be in some really bad positions, like being against the LP. Though I might be in many bad and dangerous situations I think it would be enough to have the satisfaction that would become of helping the universe.
So in other words, I would jump at the chance to become a wizard if I would ever be able to be offered the Oath even though I would be scared alot of the time.
Balthasar,(even though this isn't real)
Even though there is much evolution of science, I doubt that anyone that would ever be able to discover some way to prevent the drain of energy that every wizardry ends up having. Even if someone where to find a way to prevent a way from paying the price that wizardry makes if you were to get rid of that price wouldn't it take away the whole purpose of wizardry? It says in the books that without the price you pay for the Art it wouldn't be the same, don't you agree?

If I could take the oath I DEFINATLY would. Just imagine, being a part of something so great! and good! How cool would that be, to know that everyday, after the job is done, you might make your mum, or dad, or sister, or brother, live a little bit happier, or a little bit longer. Just to be able to feel like YOU could do something about all the horrible things happening in the world! How awesome! I am good at picking up languages, but the tenses and particulars i'm bad at so using the speech without looking up, and checking words, would be dangerous for me!
I get good grades at school, math is a sinch, (I know I spelled that wrong! Please don't hurt me!) and I LOVE to read! I go through books really fast. I guess you could call me a bookworm.
sehlinger-AND I AM GOING TO EAT....IT... ALLLLLLLLLLLLL

I think i would be offered it. while i was reading the thing describing wizards...It could have been describing. every single thing it said, being good with languages, loving the fluidness of words, loving to read, not being able to go to sleep without reading, is true about me.I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

I'm not going to laugh. I'm afraid i still do that every time i read it in one of the books.Originally posted by sker'ret:
Well, I'm not too sure if I would be offerred the Oath, because I'm pretty much a coward in real life. But since I've never really been in danger before, I don't know how I'd react.
I fit pretty much all of the other qualities, because I"m a serious bookworm, I love words, I'm good with languages, and I'm a really adamant environmentalist.
Don't laugh, people, but I actually took the Oath out loud. *blushes* I kept thinking that this would be so cool to be a wizard, so I said the Oath out loud. Nothing's happened yet, though, so, I"m still waiting. Maybe I'm on a waiting list. *crosses fingers*
I would love to be able to fight with the Lone One and protect life.
Wouldn't it be nice if DD could post a list of the qualities needed to be a wizard? I think Nita's manual has a list of them.
Dai stiho, cousins!
I can't help it, i mean, come on, what could be better then the ability to cast spells AND help to save the world from entropy. I mean, i know wizards don't get any glory or anything, but it would still be cool knowing you did that.
By the way, is fifteen too old to become a wizard? not that It'll stop me from trying, but it would be nice to know.I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
