    Niusyla complained:
and they never come into the bookshops
I don't know if you're anywhere near London, or any other big city, but specialist SF bookshops might sell them. Forbidden Planet in London probably do, for instance.

Edit: I've been told by someone in email (someone who's been there this century) that they do usually have them, but the last time he was there, he saw them on the bargain shelves. However, that might be because the WH paperback is coming out in June.

kli, when you say "mod powers", does this mean you are a Mad Mod Witch?
(snort). If only. It would be fun to be a Gaiman-related character.
... now I would really like to see Neil Gaiman and DD collaborate on a cat story. Is this a crazy idea, or do you think it could happen?
Well, DD's in Ireland, and Neil Gaiman's in the US (midwest), but anything could happen. I like the idea, but can't help wondering how they could mesh the differences in their styles.

Hmmm...I meant to post this earlier, but it didn't happen.

Fox, I didn't buy the deluxe copy of Eragon. But I have read that special chapter. I picked the book up, flipped to the back, and read it while still in the store. I'm evil. There's a MAJOR happening in the first chapter, just to let you know. REALLY important. From what I remember. If you want me to tell you, I'll post it later, with white, spoiler-protecting, text.

I also entered the Eragon Poetry Contest, which I haven't heard from yet...(Yeah, it's been a month, but there's still a chance!) I probably explained this somewhere else...But basically, if I win, I get an advance copy of Eldest (signed). If I get the grand prize, I win that plus a signed deluxe copy of Eragon, and an "original piece of art by Christopher Paolini."

Unfortunately I live too far from London to get there easily, my home town is ridiculously short of good bookshops, and the city I go to Uni in, has a couple of good, massive bookshops where i can get all the books I find hard to get elsewhere....except any YW books...*sigh*..ah well, they say patience is a virtue!

The next time I get to go to London, I will have to look this Forbidden Planet shop up, do you know whereabouts it is?

Yeah, Dover has one second-hand bookshop and no new ones. There's a WH Smith, but that's not much help for looking for YW books.

I haven't been to Forbidden Planet this century, and it moved. Uh, it's vaguely over on the right-hand bit of Shaftesbury Avenue as you look at the map. Starting from Charing Cross Road, walk along the bit of Shaftesbury Avenue that doesn't head towards Eros. (This isn't much help if you don't know where that is, is it?)

It's probably best to look it up in Yell.co.uk or another address-finding site first. Fox asked where it was a while ago: here's my answer to him. I don't know if he's tried to find it again with that answer, or if he succeeded.

i thought the first fw book was goo I havn't read the second one yet. You can almost tell a book is good by how long it takes me to read it. the better the book the faster i am able to read it. The Book of Night With Moon only took me 3 hours to read and that beat my normal read time of 4 hours as with every other book under 450 pages or less.
I have nothing better to do with my time so I lurk around this site and at libraries for hours on end

I think they're as good as YW, but that is my opinion. They have a good plotline, but have a different flavor, so it all depends on what you like.

Oooh... The Feline Wizards books... Wow, I really can't say enough about those. I found them on the top shelf of my mom's bookcase in my old house and nearly broke my neck trying to get them down... *muahahaha!* After devouring The Book of Night with Moon, I promptly started To Visit the Queen which I didn't enjoy quite as much. However, I owe my fixation with the Young Wizards to my foray into the world of the cats.

Because of this book, I know believe that one of my cats is a wizard, and I leave the room when he looks at me funny... *hehe* I know he doesn't want me to see him go, and we can't all be a young Arthur Conan Doyle...

Oh, and whoever said that they hoped that their copy of SYWTBAW turned into a copy of the manual, thank you for voicing what I've hoped for for ages. I look at it on my shelf every now and then, trying to make it turn into something else... I hope I'm not "too old" for late-onset wizardry... *sniff*

                    Okee-day, I'm done...

                    Zhai'helleva and Dai'stiho cousins!

*waves* it was me who said about the manual...no luck so far unfortunately, I check every now and then...

Does that make me immature? Or just hopelessly submerged in the world or fantasy maybe...

Its not very difficult to imagine cats as wizards, they are such smug creatures (in a nice way) , and they always look like they know something that you don't...

When I first saws the title of the first book, I thought it was about the Bright Book. When I found out it wasn't, though, I don't think I was too disappointed by the result.

I don't know if I'd say they're as good as YW, but so far I've only read TBONWM. It's an entirely different thing, and some times it's not something I'm in the mood for. The entire culture surrounding the feline wizards is different, and it made me look at my cat in a new light. Like "hmmm..."

Sadly, sometimes I read that one for the slight bits about Tom and Carl, and the brief appearance of Kit and Nita.

                            *raises eyebrow*

I don't kill for bad grammar. However, it has been suggested that you don't use chat speach, requested even. Like, for an example, you're supposed to use "you" instead of "u." I know you're probably used to typing it like that, but we'd rather you didn't. And, XD, it's only a couple more letters.

Gryph will not kill you. Well, the chances are that Gryph won't kill you. I think the living members just outnumber the slain ones, so you have just over a 50% chance of avoiding my wicked cool claws. But yeah, you might spontaneously be eaten or something like that. And at this rate, Poot will get to you sooner than I will. Also, I bite if I'm grumpy, and if the tone of an entire post is negative, don't take it (too) seriously.

                            Bluecrow, post-length....

I think my The Book of Night With Moon came from a bookstore like Borders or maybe from Amazon, which is online. It was for Christmas, so I don't really know where it came from, but it wasn't used. (I think)

I actually only have TBONWM and at the time, I think I got it from Waldenbooks or one of the other bookstores around my hometown. That was several years ago, though, and since then the cover has almost fallen off (oops!) and the spine has cracked (even more oops!).

Best places I can think of to get them, though, are Amazon and Half.com. Used books, maybe, but readable. And cheap, mostly, which is always a good thing.

Why not just make it available on the Web as text/PDF/Palm e-doc? One can now publish a single copy of a book, so why not charge a small fee to allow readers to cover the cost of their own download, plus a small fee, and then have the PDF state (for the binder to see) that the buyer is entitled to have one copy bound for archival purposes?
