  • *shakes head* Remus/Angua? What will they think of next????????
Joking, but seriously.... cute, but NO. Hello. Carrot. >.< even remus/Tonks is better (actually, it's much better: I guess Tonks is my next-favourite Remus pairing.)

As for out longevity: actually, M, there are heaps of sites forums that have lasted for a long time. I don't think we're dying out just yet: we might be taking a little more trouble to think about what we're saying, but as far as I'm concerned that can only be a good thing. We're still posting quite a lot, I think; enough to keep up with while also being very active. Furthermore, we have a lot mroe members who post. Maybe not so many who post as much, but we have many more people who post occasionally, you know what I mean? And I can only think of a few people who have actually left, recently I mean: Cress, Rysade (which is a bit different anyway) Elizabeth, ND- maybe one or two others, but on the whole not many. And we've got new people, too, who post consistently: (In no particular order except me scrolling up the page and checking dates and things) papercrane, Sam, FireWitch, bc..... and technically Diego too, who only got here in May according to his bio. So..... as far as I can tell, I haven't noticed anything. Well. No, that's not quite true. About the middle of 03, we had a period when people were posting a LOT, often good stuff but also often spam, and it was (for me at least) really difficult to keep up with everything. That's come down somewhat since; I think we're starting to get a larger volume of posts, actually. *shrugs*

However, I do know what you mean... the idea of YW.net breaking up and going our seperate ways is not a nice one. It's bad enough when people leave: if everyone left... *unhappiness*

Aurie: *winces* Ouchies. Ouch, ouch, ouch. And ouch. Yeah.

As for dentists...... >.< There is a REASON they call it the Murder House, damnit! The toothpaste (banana, we never get a choice) is yuck, and people poking around in your mouth is JUST NOT NICE. Gah. And I am NEVER getting braces. I hope. Please god. Unfortunately I might need to, because I used to **** ** thumb something shocking, but hopefully NOT.

I really like optometrists' appointments, though. Do you guys? I don't know why I do, but they're fun and relaxing. Like algebra.

Fox, you're sick? oh man. You poor thing. *sends rays of love and sympathy*

    • I have made a realization

I cannot chew food, because it is my premolars that have been removed, and your premolars are what you use to chew food.

In the past twentyfour hours, I have eaten one slice of cheesecake, a quarter of a can of soup, and a bowl of tofu.

      I'm hungry.

      • But, but, but Angua's often expressed dissatisfication with Carrot...and she could break up with him...and it's not like there aren't plenty of Percy/anybody fics even though his girlfriend's Penelope Clearwater. And I can sail this ship by my onesie! Savvy?

        heh.
Lucky everybody who doesn't have to get braces...*cannot express how awful braces are*
Aurora: oh, poor you...*gives virtual chewable food* Well, at least there's ice cream.

        • Uhm. I don't know what to say to that. You poor thing? *hands virtual chocolate* if it helps, I'm hungry too.... I hacven't eaten breakfast this morning, and I went out dancing last night, so I'm kinda really hungry (it's almost mid day.)

As for Carrot/Angua, and ppc's protesting too much.... ( ) er, OK, if you say so. Did you not even [i[read[/I] the Fifth Elephant, or something???/ OK, I'll admit it, I don't think Carrot is perfect for Angua- but I do think he's better than Remus. He's too..... I don't know. Anbyway, he'd never get together with Angua: she's too outspoken and pretty.

As for Percy/other people.... that's true, but mostly it's slashers who just want someone to ship with Sean Biggerstaff, anyway. That's not fair, I know, but there actually aren't all that many straight Percy ships.... and anyway, it's not clear whether Percy is whith Penny still or not.

<random tangent and relating of activities> Heh, the Sydney Festival is on at the moment (my timing has always been impeccable), and last night Clara and I went to the Bacardi latino Festival. Incredible fun, brilliant music, and I learnt to salsa!!! Well, sort of. Before it started, they held a free dance class, and I bullied and bribed Clara into coming and dancing with me. Needless to say, I had to be the guy, because I'm tall to middling and she's, well, not... Groan. But it was huge fun. And then it was three hours (not too late, but I was in an unfamiliar city, so I wasn't really going to hang around in the middle of Sydney past eleven at night) of live music and dancing and dancing and dangling my feet off the wharf and then more dancing... Darling Harbour is a great venue. I took photos. And db will be pleased to know that I cheered loudest for the Puerto Rican musicians. So. *bounces up and down* If a Latino music festival comes to your town, GO! Dancing dancing dancing. heh. (I'm crap at dancing, but I love it. It's so much fun!)</random tangent>

So, what did y'all do last night???

            • Eh. Tamora's Okay. Fox? Clearly you skimmed my post, I DID talk about Eragon, I posted a website, it was a phone convo between Christopher Paolini, Philip Pullman, and Tamora Pierce. *shrugs* That's okay though. Eragon rules! I can't wait till the next one comes out, but he's only half way through. *a cross between a whimper and a groan* On a lighter note of upcoming books, Kingdom of the Golden Dragon only comes out in 5 months!!!! That's not that much seeing as I've been waiting for it for more than a year. She's DONE with the book, they just want to publish it to coincide with something else happening, can't remember what. Grr.. I guess that wasn't a lighter note was it?
Aurora: Ooh. No food? *sympathies* Like ppc, Sam? I dunno, but like whoever said: "There's always Ice Cream!"
Tui: Dancing!! I LOVE dancing, though I suck too, We have this playstation game, we got it for X-mas, and it's dancing, it's fun! But free dancing is better, like school dances, I'd LOVE to go to something like you did!! Dancing is fun, no matter how much I suck.
Uh... Anything else.... hmm... I just got back from Ski Club, FUN! I LOVE to ski!!! And skiing with your friends is always good.

Yeah, skiing's good. But it HURTS. *rubs calves* I'd be lying if I said mine are still aching, but I still remember them aching. Actually, I went a while ago and wore these thick woolen socks. I also wore boots that were slightly too small for me. (NEVER make that mistake. EVER.) The socks had a striped pattern on them, a 3D one- and when I took the boots off, the pattern was basically cut into my foot in a few places. I still have scars.

                  But skiing is fun.

                  • Yeah. I'm overly cautious about my boots. I have to have them REALLY tight, because two years ago I was daydreaming on a black diamond, BAD IDEA, if you're a good skier, you can daydream on a green or something, but DO NOT daydream on a black!!! Yeah. So I kinda twisted my kneecap. It HURT. REALLy bad. And I know it was because of my daydreaming that I crashed, but I think it might have been because of my boots that I twisted my knee.

                    • The theatrical adap[tion of His Dark Material got pretty good reviews. It's actually been done as twpo three-hour plays. It's playing at the Oliver Theatre in London for the rest of Jan, and then I think it is touring thereafter. I hope to go and see it if comes near me.

                      • There's a theatrical adaption of HDM? How cool! Do the two three hour plays cover all three books?

Sadly, even though I live in Connecticut and could easily drive to plenty of skiing places, I have never been skiing. (I think I'm the only one in my grade that hasn't. Well, maybe there are a couple others.) I've always thought it would be really fun, but my family has never found time to go.

Re dancing: I dance at a dance company, but at school dance my friends and I just dance, we never get dates so... make the best of it! Last year Katie and I started a chain of umm... well it is the thing where you hold left hands and you're facing each other then you jump down and touch the floor and jump back up. It really fun we had 8 rows of girls doing that in the back of the Cafiorium. And we started this circle thingie that was really cool. I love school dances!

                            • Noo skiing, for me, tnx. Although for about 12 hours, after our last winter storm, there was a bit of snow on Haleakala. Must have puzzled the nene mightily.

I am a bit cranky today. I put in an application to keep my present job, which I have been doing as a temporary thing for the last 6 months, and was basically told I wasn't qualified to be doing the job I have been. *grumble* So now I have to go through the hassle of asking exactly what part of my application they disallowed or ignored, because I have all the requirements filled. And sometime last night while I was asleep, some vile insect bit my eyelid, and my eye looks all red and weepy and swollen. Have to keep explaining I am not "battered", despite having a shiner the size of Kilauea. :-/
