  • more like, he kills eragon, i'm sending people rotten eggs to throw at his house. I won't do it...i'll just make sure that if anyone else wants too, they have supplies. :P but seriously, i wouldn't...if i did, i'd risk people doing it to ME when i wrote! not that i could kill off any cfharacter that i'd had for even an entire book...i like them all too much! too attached. *shrugs* i finally saw the movie, and it's alright, if you can get past all the changes and view it as something OTHER then the book...but i HATE HOW THEY GUTTED THE BOOK TO MAKE IT! other then that...*hopes eragon doesn't die* oh, and there ARE ways for it to work out, if eragon AND galbatrax die....but it wouldn't be very fun, and there would be mass riots....well, maybe not, but still! eragon's gone through too much without adding death to the list!
    I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

    • dorotheia: what does the shamer books have to do with the eregon series? i read it and it was a really good sereis but i still dont understand what it has to do with anything.

      but to continue...
      \
it would be a good idea though if eregon did 'play dead' then when the king is least expecting him/ 'bam' he is hit. then it will be a little easye. but then again it is wishful thinking. now what about the cousine is he suppost to play a major role in the story i mean he only just showed up?

      • you mean roran? (is that the right spelling?) he's DEFINATELY going to play the role. as to what the role is...i have NO idea...but you don't bring him in like that if you don't want him to be playing a big role. it just wouldn't be worth the trouble of making up lines for him! as for what he'll do...who knows? maybe he'll marry the leader of the varden, or something....or become new leader. *shrugs* it's anyones guest. so, how do you think eragon will manage to beat galbatrax in the end? *wonders*

        • I think that Eragon will use his magic to make a rock fall on Galbatorix's head. Or not. Anyways, I bet that it will be something we least expect, because that's the fun part of following a series. But if Galbatorix dies by rock-smashing, folks you heard it from me first!! *grins*

          • *rolls eye with amusement* I have no idea how Galbatorix will be killed. I mean, there are hundreds of ways for THAT to happen.
I want to know what happens to Murtagh (SP?). I mean, he is suddenly evil AND Eragon's brother (not that I didn't see that coming) and a Rider. So he works for Galbatorix. is he gonna try to kill Eragon again? Is there any way for him to escape Galbatorix?
If hte evil king dies, won't that free him? Or does he still have to be evil through some thing that he promised?
Can't wait for the next book, though completly depressed it will be the last...

            • what if Murtagh is only faking to be on the side of Galbatrix. what if he is really a good guy but he needs every one to think he is bad so he can then give the important info away. now what if Rorab=n kills the galbatrix??? ohh how twisted would that be???

              • murtagh can't die! he has to come back to eragon's side! it's a rule! the good guys gone bad HAVE to come back to good...true, he might die right after it, but still! what i wonder though, is he full brother to eragon...or half? when i say half though, that would be even worse, cause i'm thinking galbatorix...no evedince of this, i know, but plot line says that when you have an evil king, and an evil mionion, the main character is more likely to be the kid of the evil king then the minion! just saying... and i don't think murtagh is faking. the oath thing...no matter what he WANTS at the moment, he CAN"T go back on something sworn in the ancient language. it's not physically possible, i fear.

                • I think that murtagh is acting to be evil incase galbatrox or his father might be watching him. I feel like he might be a spy for eragon's side a bit. That is just my theory. I actually like the idea that he and eragon are brothers. It might explain why they felt so close in the story. Some how the movie (it was rotten) took that out. He looked evil anyway.

                  • I don't think he's a spy...i just don't think he has much of a choice right about now either. *Shrugs* that's just my oppinion though. you'd think it would be nice to tell someone that you're being a spy for them though! i mean, it's just common courtesy not to leave people thinking you've stabbed them in the back! and common sense, when such people, having been stabbed in the back, are now eying YOUR back like it's the best desert they've seen in years....and his dad's dead, last i checked...that's why eragon was able to have the sword in the first place. *realizes they haven't really mentioned this since the beggining of the first book though*

                    • Ah, the tendency of characters, once said dead, to miraculously be found alive somewhere along the plot. I like the idea about Galbatorix being Eragon's dad, except that might be too much of a "Luke, I am your father" cliche. I mean, Star Wars has first dibs on that plot curve.

                      • Well, I wonder if Galbatorix will die by Saphira eating his head off. That would be quite funny...
As for Murtagh, with all the teachings Galbatorix has been giving him, what if instead, Muragh found a way to lie in the Ancient Language?

I just thought of this. What is Galbatorix like tried to bind Eragon's and Murtagh's heart, so he could find Eragon much easier, since Eragon has that kneckless(sp). So like if one dies, the other dies. Then Eragon would kill Galbatorix, and Murtagh in revenge, kills Eragon. Then it also rebounds onto him, and kills Murtagh. It would be a great twist.

                        • star wars doesn't have first dibs on that plot twist at all,....it's MUCH older, i'm sure. i mean, having the villain turn out to be related to the main cahracters hardly anything new...you could probably find it in DOZENS of older books. besides, they've already done the scene practically with murtagh revealing the evil HENCHMAN was his father...so what's the harm of revealing that his bloodline's worse yet on his fathers side?

                          • Yeah, I bet that Star Wars wasn't the first with that plot line, come to think of it. Not that I can immediately bring up any earlier stories with that sort of twist, but then again...You know, it seems like most literature gets its ideas from an earlier piece of literature. Does that means humans are only copycats who can only think what others have thought? *brain swirls as gigo realizes she's probably not the first to think this*

                              • you aren't. but i don't think it's so much that all are copycats, so much as that at this point almost everything has been thought of, even if it never had a chance to be put into use. our music teacher used to say taht there is NO such thing as original music...(note, when the first caveman fell and made a thump THAT was orriginal music) *grins* but that doesn't mean that some twists aren't still enjoyable, and rare enough in the well known arts to make them worthwhile still.
