Okay, I saw the movie last night and I was, and still am, in a total rage over it!! It really ws rushed and they covered very little from the book. They ruined it and I can't see how they are going to follow up with the second book without leaving out something important again. I could say more and really complain, but I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone who wants to see it. And if anyone thinks it is good is offened, I am sorry, but I HATED it!!!!!
And I went with two freinds, one a fan of the book, the other just wanted to see the actor for Eragon(whom she thought was the dragon!!!) because "He's hot". While me and my fan friens were raging, she, like, squeeled every time she liked his part - for example, when his shirt was off. *rolls eyes*
OMG, my stomach just growled super loud. Funny.
But I am definately not going to take my little sister to see it today. I am furious.
Anyhow, I am throughly disappointed and I am sorry if anyone is offened by that.

marina, read the book if you want. this is one book i am not going to beg people to read. the style of the writing is like an adult, with a few poor choices for diction. (hence my notion of it being written by his parents). but i have to hand it to his sister, she is a great artist if she did the cover for him on photoshop. i love the cover, just take some time.

yeah so read it if you want. IF ANYONE WANTS A GOOD BOOK ITS "LUCK IN THE SHADOWS". In the second book, it has a potential Harry Potter ending! I'm reading the last book, someone told me the 75% of the book is full of emo seregil, my favourite character!

jwiz, calm down. there's no need to have a cow over a book made into a movie that didn't follow the story, because most all movies are like that if they were a book once. take harry potter as an example. well, i go to see the movie tomorrow with keri and mc...i have some aquaintances (?) like your friend, who squealed over the 4th HP movie when harry had his shirt off...and he ain't even good-lookin'...

balthasar, i agree...the cover is really something...
and by the way, you can call me mina

Actually, he can have a cow over the movie if he really wishes to--that cow just shouldn't be disruptive. Since he was just ranting and even apologized beforehand, I don't think jwiz has done anything wrong.

Argh, frustration. Me and my friend were going to see the movie together...but now...well, the plans just went all screwy in general. hate it when that happens.

I have no doubt in my mind that the movie will be far from amazing. But I still have to see it. XD Short, choppy post, I know, but I feel rather harried right now.

my seeing eragon was delayed by people saying how horrid it was...so i haven't seen it yet. i've heard reviews saying it was alright, and reviews saying it was good, as well, so it's possible most fans just hated it because not enough of the story was in it (they took out whole races, supposedly) and not because the movie was actually bad in and of itself...
            I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

I've heard more than a few people who've never read the book say that it was simply not a good movie at all, so they're not just complaining about stuff that was changed or left out (which can, of course, be a legitimate complaint at times).

My deduction, from what they've said, is that it tries vainly to be Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and falls far short.

It's a shame, really - even a less-than-stellar book can be made into a good movie, with the right cast and script and so on.

SOrry, didn't mean to have a cow, but i never expected it to br THAT bad. Maybe it is just me, but I was really disappointed.
Anyhow, my little sister is like, having a major decision problem over shoosing wether or not she wants to have me read her Eldest or AWA. I think she is going to chose A Wizard Abroad, though. Hehehe. i got her addictewd to the series now. Hehehe.
Again, sorry fi my ranting offened anyone, I didn't mean for It to. i have a tendency to do that when something is really bugging me. I'll try harder to stop it.
ANd fox, I really agree. They lef tout Solembum!!! I was looking forward ro him. And the star saphire.
                  Merry CHristmas everybody!

well, i saw the movie on tuesday...from someone who hasn't read Eragon, i rather liked the movie. saphira's animation was great. i can't say how close it was to the book, but it was good enough for me. according to my friend, Arya's supposed to be more...teasing (?) to Eragon, but i don't know about that...

anyone recognize Scar from The Lion King?...

i don't know where everyone else gets the information, but i just get my stuff from the eragon forums i'm on...lead always finds out that stuff and puts it on...and that's why you don't loan out books! at least, you don't loan them too me.

balthasar: i dunno where i saw the title of the third.... ooh now i remember, on one of the fan sites...they say that the third is empire. the unofficial stes. but im not going to be a slave of the book. he didnt write it, they are good story and thats it. haha i write so bad...i should gather my thoughts the next time i post...i would fix its, but lazy...hehehe!

Ive just this second read Paolini's email. OMG thought he might of said how rotten they have made it but i think he is still star struck that Fox paid him to make a movie of his book I mean we would all be the same if we was young and just starting to make some big bucks! BUT Fox should be ashamed of themselves, all that money at their desposal and they make a hash of the movie. Hopefully in 5 + years time another better film maker will come along and make a better movie! or if the tecnology is around a VR program

The movie sucked to me. I mean nothing was done right. Eragon has black hair. Arya is tanner, black hair (i believe) and beautiful. (please correct me if i am wrong ) Arya wasn't there when Brom died. Where was all of that training that was so vital for Eragon in the first book? Saphira doesn't grow all at once it happens over time. I thought the fortune teller had a talking cat. What happend to the dwarves? What happend to that baby that was made a super genuis? Where was the vast desert? I thought Eragon went to at least three towns. Why did Brom burn the house, I thought the Urgal did it. Saphira's egg was too big, and Eragon stole it from somewhere (i can't recall where). Why did he find it in the woods? It seemed as if the journey took a couple of days, it was longer than that. How did Eragon know all of those spells, he shouldn't have been able to use half of them in the first place. Saphira isn't supposed to know how she made the crystal, She touches it with her nose not blows on it. And it is supposed to be a gift.

The movie jumped too much to me. Maybe I'm just too critical but I really did not like it.

Your right spyells, Arya was waaaaaaaay off mark. In the movie she was weak, kind, too nice, soft and i thought plan looking. In the book she acts like tough love, hard but vry beatiful, strong powerful and looks like an elf BECAUSE SHE IS ONE! Eragons character nearly ok, the hair needed to be darker. Brom was ok apart from the fact the change in the story line. Shaphire was ok i thought, [apart from the voice]. Again they changed the story which made it rubbish and in the same time they could of done a few clips of both of them growing up. the witch was very wrong! she was the one that did the music someone told me and wanted to be in the film. Still though it was rubbish!! They have changed the movie way too much!
