I saw the movie, I thought it was kinda butchered compared to the book though...
Well idk, imo anyways. I love their choice fo rthe actors Ed Speelers rocks!!

to tell you the truth i was really anticipating that movie but they ruined the whole thing. The took out some of the major characters. There were no dwarfs and they didn't even bother to give Arya pointy ears. Then Brom died differently from the book. Arya was watching him die which is wrong... its like your suppose to be asleep!!! The only reason why she was asleep in the movie is so she wouldn't be able to save Brom.Originally posted by wizy123:

the problem with discussing the movie is, just about all of us think that they messed up. i mean, it might have been good if they changed the characters name, and gave the movie a different name, because then they wouldn't be butchering anything, but all considering, they messed it up. SO all we can do, is sit around agreeing with eachother...and then come back and agree again. At least when we discuss the book, we've got stuff to debate...I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Yeah, I agree. I got the DVD and if you watch the deleted scenes it adds in with some of the storyline from the book like the Twins searchin' Eragon and Katrina.
I thought the movie was butchering the book like badly. Someone agree with me on how corny and crappy the scene was when Saphira magically got older by soaring through the sky...
...weird much?

Lol, the best scene that had Saphira perhaps. It sucks how un-elf-like they made Arya. No pointy ears, no black long hair...grrr!!!
And at the end she went back to Ellesmera (sp?) man...
And wasn't Murtagh's scar supposed to be on his back? Man, this movie is like so easy to criticize lol.

...saphiremagically got older?....couldn't they just do a slow passage of time thing? i mean, i suppose it would be hard to do in a movie, but they could at least try to make the sceen look cool enough that it doesn't seem corny...*grumbles* they're messing up the book HORIDILY. and now, everyones going to think the BOOKS are like that!I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

arrrgg if i have to watch that movie again im going to scream (and i only watched it once!) they totally messed up the plot line, like i said before (or others have said) they left out soo much stuff and changed soo much that you could litteraly change the name of the characters and the movie and you would have a movie that no one would know it was eragon!!!!! brom died wrong which out of the whole movie made me the most mad. that was when he was suppost to tell eragon what he really was but nooooo he tells him way before hand. and was the elf even awake when he died in the book?
as for the way they look wasnt eragon suppost to have like black hair??? thats what i thought

maybe we should talk about the book instead? movie just makes everyone angry, and point out the same things again and again, as shown in wizy's post...ANd i'll once more point out that i wish they HAD changed the names of characters and movies...i mean, if it wasn't supposed to be eragon, it would probably be a fairly cool movie. i'm still trying to see it, though not paying money to do so, but it seems from what i can gather that it would actually be an alright movie to watch if it wasn't making a wreck out of such a great book. It's just how they're using the books title to get extra watchers that's so infuriating...I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Yes, when my mom rented it for my little sister, i had to pretend the whole time it wasn't Eragon. Which i knida managed to do. then it was good. but i would suddenly remember the book and have to grumble a bit.
Soooo, the books. Hmmm...what to say?
oh, how do you think Solemnbum's (SP?) predictions will happen in the third book? And remember ERagon's dream in the first one? the one with the two dragons and the boat sailing away? Do you think that might turn out like his other dreams and be foreshadowing? hmm?

I'm not sure how it will work out...we now know WHy he needs a new sword at least! and i'm not sure i want it to wrap up and just be DONE with when it's all over either...i mean, no more eragon...*would be saddened* i personally NEVER completely wrap things up...after all, the story never really DOES end...people just stop writing about it in the hopes of not getting drawn back to it, and finding out it didn't end QUITE as well as they had hoped. Therefore, and ending should always lead to a new beginning...but then they could never end the series. which is why i think it should happen, i suppose.I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

To be brutally honest, it wasn't just the end of the movie that they messed up. I mean, they even forgot to mention that Arya is an elf, which would be totally confusing to anyone who hadn't read the books.
