In twenty years I shall be a famous author and all of you will know who I am, but I won't tell you it's me. I'll probably have a weird name like Nenfea still, because I've always had weird names like that. If I'm still around. I probably will be. I'll go away for about half a year and then come back for a year or so and then go away...you get the pattern. I'd probably still be obsessing over my new love...a new band or some uber cool movie that I'd just discovered. I think I will always love things in phases.

In 20 years...I might be famous. A weird person sort of famous, like you know my name but have no clue what I'm talking about half of the time, because I hope to be an astrophysicist. Or maybe I'll just be one of those people you have a passing mention of, who's working on this space project that you're sort of interested in hearing about, but change the channel anyways...I think it'd be fun though. And I'd be preparing for the future because it's inevitable we'd be in space by then, and maybe we'd know enough not to destroy it like we almost did to Earth.
But in case I can't be an astrophysicist, I'll be sitting in front of a computer somewhere as a computer programer, or in front of a piano one summer night with about a gazillion people staring up at me...
          So many possibilities...
-Tell me and I may remember; show me and I'll understand; involve me and I'll never forget. Thank you, PM. Your light lives on.

1 year from now... it'll be interesting to look back at this topic and see how many of the people who posted in it are still active members of the forum.

Nita: What do you mean, I'll be old in 20 years? I'm older now than you'll be in 20 years .

Cress: We'll know who you are, whatever your name is, by your embarrassed look every time someone mentions "funfun" .

ATM: Of course, 30 years ago people thought there'd be permanent moonbases by now. What happened ?

I SO will be over the funfuns by then. Maybe. And if I'm not I'll just be all "Cress was young and hyper, we should forget and forgive" instead of hiding in the corner. Which is what I'm going to go do now because you mentioned the funfuns. *hides*

In twenty years, I'll be almost sixty, and I'll prolly have fun seeing how many current members' KIDS we've got on the board by then...

I hate to tellya this, guys, but when you get older, time starts going FASTER. Basically, how long a year seems to last comes down to how big a percentage it is of your life.

                edited because I can't do math!--kli

In 20 years from now, I'll sure as heck be a black belt. I'M A BLUE BELT AS OF TODAY!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH

                  OMG OMG OMG

Also, this world had better be a better place or I'm gonna take control. I don't beleive in entropy as in stuff was better than it is now. So I do beleive things can improve and will.

HAHAHAHAHAHA Sorry, which universities were you thinking of? Because any university to pay you that much, seriously, they do not exist in this world. Sorry.

20 years from now I'll nearly be thirty eight. Holy schlamoly. If I'm alive, of course, touch wood. Other than that, nothing is certain. I don't even know what my degree is going to look like in four or five years, you expect me to know what I'll be doing in 20? I might be married... or not. I might have kids... or not. I will probably have a job, because I'll need one to, like, pay my internet bills, and things. Hopefully, I will have written and published one book of poetry by then, but the chances of it being world famous are approximately eight billion to one, so I don't think any of you will know my name. :P

In twenty years, I'll be almost fifty, and I'll prolly have fun seeing how many current members' KIDS we've got on the board by then...
Oh yeah. Should I have kids, I will totally pimp them into YW. With, like, a gun to the forehead (or not).
Go ahead! Panic! Do it now and avoid the June rush! Fear death by water!

20 years is a LONG TIME...hehehe I am going on 20 now, and 20 more is just really far away in my mind...I can't even imagine what I'd be doing then. I can't picture myself married, with or without kids...I'll prolly be the person that lives alone and talks to people online a lot and has a boring job, writes on the side, and tells everyone about a certain form of dream (CR dreams, to those of you who know what that means)...*sigh* I'll be OLD in 20 years...

I refuse to think how old I'll be in 20 years time. My only consolation is Peter will be even older

Me! You forgot me! I'll be older, too!!!!!! I'll be post-menapausal, and close to retirement!

Snert. I can't believe I screwed up the math by a decade in my post. I suppose I was thinking along the old-fashioned lines that no woman has a birthday after her twenty-ninth.

My consolation is that, as far as I can remember, you're one of the two people to have posted in this topic who will be older in 20 years than I am now .

I was also reassured for a while that I can add up better than a certain person... but she just went and messed that up.

Given that I already had at least one of DD's books 20 years ago, and had read at least one other (Door Into Fire and The Wounded Sky), I expect I will still be interested in whatever she's writing then, if she hasn't retired.

Hah, PM doesn't need consolation! His age is his _pride_; don't try to make it seem trivial. XD XD Hehehe

If I were to write a book, which would it have the smallest chance of it being about? Heh, I was random when I turned a thought into a multiple choice question. The mods were talking then, so blame it on them.

                              a) fantasy
                              b) sci fi
                              c) values
                              d) emotion
                              e) corruption
                              f) power

So, in other words, if you find an author writing books about all of the above with the expception of one... XD That's also dedicated to a little black and white cat who got me into writing.

I always hated the "Where will you be in x years?" questions, because I have no vision of the future. Which is not good, actually, given what I'm trying to do with my life right now. But anyway.

I can't imagine I would still be hanging around here. Not because I don't like you folks or because I think I'll stop liking the books (of course not!) but because I just don't seem to do or keep things for that long. I haven't even had any friends for longer than about 9 years. I stop most online things I do after a few years, for one reason or another. It just happens.

Although, like some other people have said, I will not have kids. I don't even know if I'm going to have a boyfriend/husband, since I've had such great luck (note sarcasm) in that field so far. But I just don't like kids very much.

I will, however, introduce my sister's children (she's much more likely to have kids eventually than I am) to the books. She likes them, too, though not as much as I do.

P.S. Randomness: I think playing trumpet is a whole heck of a lot of fun, but lots of trumpet players are not. There was a fairly accurate joke I read once that went as follows:

What soars higher than the piccolo player's highest notes?

                                A trumpet player's ego.

I myself am exempt from that rule, of course At least when it comes to trumpet playing, anyway. But I played for about 10 years and enjoyed it.
