What's your favorite book that you have read in the last month?
Assuming the whole book didn't need to be in the last month, either Time Enough for Love or The Science of Discworld. If all in the last month the latter, since I started the former back in school but was never able to make progress in it.

If you could, where in the universe would you go?
Anywhere and everywhere as long as I could return home and bring friends (and boyfriend ) with me. Really though, I have no idea, I'd probably be boring and jump to the moon since it'd be safe enough and seems all pretty and such.

If you could make one wish, and get it to come true, what would it be?

This is a hard question because it feels like any wish would backfire. It'd be tempting to say something like for me and those I care about to live a long and happy life, but even that doesn't feel quite right. What about human society to start caring about others (all others)? Probably something like one of those two, the first is really tempting but the latter seems more effective and most definitely more important.

If you were given 3 million dollars, what would you do?

Wonder why I had 3 million dollars and make sure it wasn't hurting anyone else for me to have gotten this, and if so then pay for college, grad school, etc. Give my boyfriend's family enough to cover the months of rent that they're needing to wait to pay the landlord on (but I know they'd not want more than that if they took that much so would be reasonable). Donate some to whatever groups felt reasonable, and then just keep it in the bank using what was necessary but acting no differently, because money is a silly thing. But get a new laptop too 'cause I want a new body for Patina.
If it hurt others, try to give it back to those who it was no matter how hard that'd be with the whole being a college student thing.

If you could spend a month in vacation anywhere you wanted, where would it be?

A small island in the Caribbean with kayaks, snorkelling equipment, good food, friends, and the internet. Or somewhere middle of nowhere-ish, friends, the ability to travel only using non-motors, preferably kayaks, and the ability to avoid civilization for the time. But preferably internet there . Something middle of nowhere-ish either way.

What is your favourite animal?
Turtle! (who'da thought?)

What's your favorite anthology (collection of stories or poems)?
...I really don't know. None is jumping to mind.

Do you believe in magic, and do you wish you had it?

Part of the question is if something that is not understood is magic. It's like Clarke's third law "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." but this is true beyond technology, anything not understood enough.

Is there magic like in the fantasy novels in the ability to create something from nothing, change a book to a desk with the flick of a wand or speak to animals in english and have them reply? no. Is there something which could be considered magic out there, I say yes. But its not "I'm making this happen" its "I understand this and others don't seem to and can manipulate it some" yes.

While fantasy magic would be cool, I don't wish I had it since it seems silly to wish for. As for the more realistic type...who says I don't have what some people may call magic? Who says anyone here doesn't, or some people have it at least. .

What is the meaning of your life?
42. And learning as much as I can and helping who I can especially if I care a lot about them.

What is one thing that needs to change?
Feels a bit mean to say "human nature"...and that isn't specific enough. The belief by people they are superior in general.

Imagine an object that would fit in your palm, and describe it briefly.
Now this question I like.

I'm getting two different things...so I'll mention both.

More strongly I'm getting a small, not pointy but not round, just the shape that it is not dangerous and sharp but not sphere either. Closest to like... the shape of a keychain fancy thing but not that either. Metallic, Iron I think. Cold to the touch. Shiny as it was buffed.

The other is not as strongly pictured but more more detailed. Small, almost circlular which fits inside of your palm, and looks at quick glance like a fancy rock. When you look closer you notice patterns on the upper part. Then look closer and a head pops out of the front, and the fact that its a baby turtle is noticed.

What is your fondest memory froom the forums or chat?

People's reactions to my post about robotics in TOGR which was over 6000 words. Rather than being annoyed at the randomness which they didn't care about and the length of seeming nothing to people, it was understood to matter to me, commented that maybe there's a new definition of long for a TOGR post, and asked questions rather than avoiding the topic of robots around me. I felt accepted and amused at the same time.

What is one of the most funniest things you have ever heard?

Umm...first off "most funniest?" I think you just mean "funniest".
But anyways...recently I'd have to say myself when being tickled when I'm most responding seeing as apparently I sound like a dog somewhat and say the word "tickle" a lot.

If you were asked to describe:
a) you
b) your best friend
c) the relationship the two of you have
each in ten words what would those ten words be?

a) very into interests, open only with trust, geek/nerd, optimistic.
b) understanding, my other half, knows what she likes, great friend.
c) special, unique, fast forming, strong connection, trust, know others thoughts.
We will remember you PM. And your little GingerBear.

What is one thing that needs to change?
People's attitudes about each other; learning to love your neighbor (that is to say, everybody) as you love yourself.

Imagine an object that would fit in your palm, and describe it briefly.
It's fuzzy and warm, full of life. I can feel its tiny heart beating against my fingers and the frailness of its structure. It trusts me absolutely and is perfectly content to lie there in my palm.

What is your fondest memory from the forums or chat?
Fondest? Not sure how to pick one, I've had a lot of great experiences here at youngwizards.net.

What is one of the most funniest things you have ever heard?
That grammatical error Just kidding I guess when parents or teachers make grammatical errors, that's when it gets really hilarious

a) you
b) your best friend
c) the relationship the two of you have

a) optimist, nerd, shy, altruistic, talkative w/friends, bookworm, hates decisions
b) slightly pessimistic, shy until familiar, creative, story teller, bookworm, funny
c) like brother-sister, finish sentences, random conversations w/broad topics

If you could spend a month in vacation anywhere you wanted, where would it be?

Bali. Most definately.

What is your favourite animal?
Wow! A Wolfy! Actually, I enjoy foxes right now, but of course, I am an unusually loyal person, so I'll always love wolves. And dogs. A favorite mythocal creature? A firewolf, to which my name refers to.

What's your favorite anthology (collection of stories or poems)?
don't really read anthologies, but any collection of poems is good.

Do you believe in magic, and do you wish you had it?
I have magic. Look at my signature.

What is the meaning of your life?
Í have often thought that I could be the Ghandi, or someone like that. Maybe my life lies between the pages of an unwritten book, the ink my soul poured out of my pen.

What is one thing that needs to change?
People. Leave pitbulls alone, you humans made them that way! People are the only unnaturaælly cruelbeasts in this world.

Imagine an object that would fit in your palm, and describe it briefly.
What I get is warm, a redish fur covering it. It shivers in the cold and I wrap my fingers around it. It's eyes have only just opened, and it's ears are pushed back against its head. It's tail is wrapped around it paws, and its small tongue licks me gently. Until you have held within your hand a puppy chi, you don't have an inling of what small, delicate, and adorable mean.

What is your fondest memory froom the forums or chat?

Where we went with "Continueing Story".

What is one of the most funniest things you have ever heard?

OOoooo...... My chi snoring, and her tongue was hanging out of hermouth, and it was rolling itself up and down.

I don't think I can aswer this truthfully.

Anyone here have a favorite plant?

Personally, I like wolfbane, belladonna, and holly.
I can create a world, out of letters and words. I can make you believe something in a paragraph. I can make you love someone in a page. I can make you go places that don't exist in a book. That's all the magic I need. [url]http://melpomene.freeforums

What is one thing that needs to change? I don't agree that humans are evil. I think the way we live is a better answer. I think we need to do away with soulless corporations and handle this government that keeps people down.

Imagine an object that would fit in your palm, and describe it briefly You can't see it, but the feeling it imparts is amazing. It can make a depressed man happy again. It can make a lonely man feel love. It can make a poor man gather the courage to try again.

What is your fondest memory from the forums? I haven't been here long, but I love the idea of this thread. Probably this so far. It's a great way to meet people.

What is one of the funniest things you've ever heard? Probably Royal in "The Royal Tenenbaums" trying to tell his wife he's dying.(If you haven't seen it, don't worry, he's not really dying.)

If you were asked to describe:

c) the relationship the two of you have
each in ten words what would those ten words be?
a)Introspective, Egocentric(yes i'm confessing to this), Geeky, Videogame-Junkie, Pop-Culture-Junkie, Spiritual, Passionate, Questioning, Curious, and always-learning(technically more than ten words, but ten things none the less.
b)Quiet, Sensitive, Pop-culture-junkie, Worldy, Spiritual, Well-read, Stubborn, Steadfast, Loyal, and Assured.
c)Supportive, Close, Trusting, Educational, Counceling, Funny, and Enjoyable.

Anyone here have a favorite plant?
Hmm, bay trees, Basil Trees, and Wysteria.

If you had a chance to tell a deceased relative something, what would it be? Hmm, I think i'd tell my mom i'd love her.

What is your most unique trait? Probably my ability to see things a little differently

What is your fondest memory from the forums?
...I had to think for a few days about this one. XD I just love being here in general...what comes to mind right now is either staying up til 3AM with wf in chat, or the morning when we (Mousey, Gigo and I are the ones I remember most vividly) were all poking around the newest Chime, dumping each other with font colour paint and figuring out what'd break Cedric. (And the naming of Cedric.)

Anyone here have a favorite plant?
I've grown attached to the weeds in the backyard and the flowering vine in the kitchen (alas, I don't know what species the vine is). I'm partial to sage, bleeding hearts and ferns.

What is your most unique trait?
Not sure.
I know I strive for objectivity, but sometimes I'm afraid it makes me seem cold and distant, or self-centered. I also seem to have a very different worldview from most people. (It would be ironic if the latter came up the most often in the responses XD but I keep thinking back to the mobiles in High Wizardry in that respect.)

If you had a chance to tell a deceased relative something, what would it be?
I haven't been close to any of my relatives that have passed on. If I had the chance, I'd probably ask my grandfather (who I've never met but have been told died in a war) to tell some of his war stories.
-Tell me and I may remember; show me and I'll understand; involve me and I'll never forget. Thank you, PM. Your light lives on.

What is your most unique trait?
Never thought of it...
Probably my amount of empathy. If I see a woman yell at her kid at the park and take him home because he threw some sand, I literally start crying and hyperventalating, often times taking it harder than the kid himself. Getting punished by missing something is something I have real issues with, but I'm terribly empathetic. Haha, it's terribly pathetic. *bursts into manical laughter*

If you had a chance to tell a deceased relative something, what would it be?
I would tell my father that I have forgiven him.

If you could change into any kind of real, not mythological, animal, while keeping your intelegence, what would it be, and why? You have to answer why!!!

I have always had a close relationship with wolves and dogs, they're caught up in my love of books and words, a sense of who I am, my art, my family and friends, and a whole lot of other things. I have always felt a desperation to save the wolves as a species, and this has only grown as I have grown. So, definately, a wolf.

a)intelligent, realistic*, dreamer, schemer, proud, empathetic, calculating, introverted, reliable, sarcastic
b)intelligent, thoughtful, witty, unselfish, empathetic, easygoing, introverted, trustworthy, understanding, forgiving
c)special, withstanding, not always needing words, being near is enough

*Classmates from my old school would suggest "pessimistic" here, but I can't help it if life isn't totally positive. Seeing the downsides helps one be prepared.

What is your most unique trait?

I have no truly unique traits, because somewhere in the worlds another person has the one I'd be thinking of. However, as a whole person, with all of my non-special traits, I am unique. 'Course, it must be observed that nobody is unique, since we all share at least one thing in common: that we are so-called "unique", but this is getting too philosophical for a poll.

If you could change into any real animal, what would it be and why?

Um...either a wild horse, or a bird of some sort. I would relish the freedom.

If you died, what would you miss the most from being alive? (we're excluding the idea of any type of afterlife, and not wishing anyone any ill-will)
I choose my friends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their good characters, and my enemies for their intellects. A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies. I have not got one who is a fool.--Oscar Wilde

What is your most unique trait?

Optimism, I guess, considering how things have been going over at the "Changing World" thread...

If you could change into any real animal, what would it be and why?

I think I may have answered this already, but I'm too lazy to check so I'm gonna answer it again I would change into a cat because cats are awesome; they're sneaky and mischievous, soft but can defend themselves, can purr (I can meow but can't make a genuine-sounding purr)

If you died, what would you miss the most from being alive? (we're excluding the idea of any type of afterlife, and not wishing anyone any ill-will)

Um, I'm not sure if I can answer this question because I do believe in an afterlife. I think that I would feel sorry for those I left behind...

If you could change your appearance in any way, what would it be?

My stupid, stupid acne *makes monster face in mirror* It's ugly and it's painful and I hates it, I do *reverts to Kreacher-style muttering*

If you could change into any real animal, what would it be and why?
Something with wings. A crow or a hawk or...an owl. 'Cause they can, y'know, fly.
Also, I'm partial to winged creatures- I see robins, chickadees, crows and gulls more often than other mammals here.

If you could change your apearance in any way, what would it be?
Hair.

What are your thoughts on music? In the beginning it was...just fun. Singing at school and church, learning piano because all your friends were, it was just there. A way to praise God.
Later when I started up piano again and played in band, it was a way for me to express myself- something I was good at and enjoyed. Many of my friends and acquaintances I've known through the band or choir program.
Now I'm more advanced in music theory and appreciation, as well as the physics behind the sounds. It's something that never ceases to amaze me- the different vibration patterns of a string (there's a double meaning here ^.^), the overtones and undertones, timbre, the little wong-wong-wong quality of two instruments playing not quite in tune. If you listen carefully and know what to look for, the sound of music itself is a very complicated thing; and we're not even getting into the structure and styles in music.

Hmm, hard, but I'd go with one of three: A monkey, a sparrow, or a tyrannosaurus rex.

Monkey: It's my chinese zodiac, besides....to be that nimble and agile would be loads of fun.

Sparrow: Flying thing

tyrannosaurus rex: obvious reasons here.

If you could your appearance in any way, what would it be?
Appearance...maybe not so much with the pale skin. A darker complexion so I wouldn't burn so easy.

If you died, what would you miss the most?
Experience, and Knowledge.

What are your thoughts on music? A way to communicate that touches nearly everyone. Music is an art form of extreme interest as something about sounds causes thoughts on so much more. I love music.

If you could be one famous character from a movie/book, who would you choose? I think i'd have to go with Indiana Jones. He's a snazzy dresser, knows a good hat when he sees one, and generally gets around. Plus how many daring men of action double as college professors. I just don't see the downside here.

Thoughts on music-I NEED MUSIC TO SURVIVE. I love it. Love to play it, sing it and listen to it.

If I could be famous-piano, writing or doing some kind of good deed that changes the world.

Change your appearance-I would get rid of zits entirely...or give myself nice abs...or possibly make my hair less frizzy, but I can deal with my hair. Probably the abs.

If you could change into an animal-Either a parrot, because I want to know what it feels like to fly, a horse because I've always thought running like a horse would be amazingly exhilirating, or a cat because they get to sleep all the time.

What song defines you the most? Gold Lion, by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, or Fight Test by the Flaming Lips.

What food would you be if you were a food? Mango!! It, like me, bruises easily, but it's still delicous.
