btu for some stuff... cleft palate (sp), okay, I would have an operation for that, personally. But I saw about five minutes of one episode of Extreme Makeover a ways back (and what a sick, sick show. Have extreme and dangerous plastic surgery and All Your Problems Will Be Solved!) and one of them women was talking about how her boyfriend told her she was ugly, so did her family, and so forth... it just made me very sad. As far as I'm concerned, her family are the ones who need surgery- preferably a lobotomy. Ugh. (My brother tells me that such a comment is... distasteful. Probably. But god.)

One of my friends at school had a cleft liven palate when she was born. She's just had the cosmetic surgury done now and its meant the world to her. She's much more cheerful (not that she wasn't before, but..). Extreme makeover is stupid! I agree with you aurora, with that whole 'spend the money on conselling' thing. look where too much plastic surgury got Wacko Jacko - was kinda cute before he started 'fixing' his nose, and now he's just wierd.

Yeah, we have a course on World Religions. . . I was gonna take it, but it conflicted with my Law course, so I gave that up for Sociology. My school also offers World History to the Sixteenth Century, Introduction to Psychology, Anthropology and Sociology, Challenge and Change in Society (what I'm taking, more commonly known as "grade 12 sociology"), and a bunch of stuff like that. . . Media studies, Journalism, yeah. . . and my school's got one of the smallest selections in the area- we can actually afford to print off a course calendar for every student. heh.

Yeah, the guy I was fighting with yesterday was saying stuff like "Well, they're never going to be accepted into society if they aren't beautiful. . ." and a lot of prattle like that (me- "Hey, I'm ugly! I don't think it matters how pretty you are, it's the amount of self confidence you have!"), that sort of thing- I suspect he started swearing at me (the admin edited his post) and called me intolerant and stuff. And I'm like "Well, maybe that's what it's like where you are. I'm never going there now."

Yeah. I agree. I don't mind if you get plastic surgery, sure go ahead. But personally I wouldn't do it because it's painful and gross. And it doesn't make you look prettier and younger, it only makes you look more artificial and nasty...

But you see, the thing is, some people are born with deformities that require plastic surgery to fix. There was a girl whose face melted in with her face when she opened a fire stove, and she went to america to get her face fixed, she couldn't even smile. I saw that on Oprah. and I suppose that I am the only one who watches Oprah. I agree with cosmetic surgery under some circumstances like the one above.

Plastic surgery for actual medical reasons like your example is one thing, but there seems to be too much of "I don't like this, I'll get it changed" plastic surgery. Elective plastic surgery, I suppose it is, rather than being medically necessary.

I wouldn't object to reconstructive plastic surgery of this type (I finally remembered the word), just to the "Oh my gawsh, I look 50, and my daughter looks young enough to be my daughter, I must get this fixed so I look like her" type.

Also I agree with VC about having plastic surgery for disfigured things. That makes sense.

But I shouldn't be talking bcause I am an organic-fruit-and-nut-case, I got that out of a book of short stories called 13. I just finished it and it's really good.

I am also rereading Peter Pan for the umpteenth time, but I checked out a different version from the library, the pictures in both books are incredible!

Back on the subject of school. I am totally swamped right now, I have so many thoughts on my mind, and I kinda need some alone time maybe I might (note: MIGHT) take a small break from the computer (I will make it small I promise you, I'm not leaving forever)
I'ts kinda like I've been wandering lately, trying to discover more about myself, getting to know myself. all of that on top of mounds and mounds of beautiful homework! (I'm such a nerd) and I've got a headache right now, is it because of the chocolate?

And now I've started a diary and I am writing (well trying to) in it every night.

What's law class? I'm assuming it's a class about law. Home Ec. is really boring. I like it though because I'm surrounded by very funny people so I laugh in there a lot. Although I get in trouble because our teacher doesn't like kids joking, laughing, or talking in her class.

VC, I started a diary type journal a while ago. Wow, end of last year, actually. I started to write in it everyday, bursting with new things to record, mostly memories that I could look back on. But then I just stopped writing it in. It didn't hold me at all.

Yeah, I know how to sue people and how to present a case to the court. . . Man, we got this really hard case to present. It was the case R. v. Dudley and Stephens (1884) from England. Basically, Dudley, Stephens, Brooks and Parker were stranded in a boat 2500 km or something off the Cape of Good Hope, and only had a little food. They ran out after four days, and Stephens and Dudley wanted to kill Parker to save the rest- Brooks disagreed. At night, Dudley killed Parker while Parker was sleeping and all three men feasted on him until they got rescued. . . and we were asked to present the case being the Crown Attorney trying to get Dudley and Stephens convicted of murder.

The only point I could come up with was that the murder was premeditated. --''

I think I've had plastic surgery before. I'm not sure if you would actually call it that though. My tooth went through my lip in second grade, and I had to get surgery later to fix it because there was too much of...something...in my lip. Of course, I didn't have any say in the matter. The worst part was the needles and the tube thingy they used to make my sleep. *shudder* Seeing that in my hand.... Still makes me feel strange.

Hah! Z, my Home Ec teacher (we called it FCS) was my homeroom too in 7th grade. O.o And wow, you're in 7th too. That's neat.

My history teacher was talking about something similar to Aurie's case. He didn't say names, but he said that two guys killed the other guy for food when they were stranded out in the ocean somewhere. We took polls on whether values and morals change when you're in a life threatening situation. What happened here, was that they agreed, even the guy who was gonna die, that they were going to eat the guy when he did die (Ewww). But anyway, the guy was sick, but he wouldn't die, so they killed him anyway.

Owww, Angel_Star. But I don't think that was plastic surgeory.
