Oh, I want to be an adult. Part if it is that 'freedom issue.' Being an adult means you can go to the library, check out half a billion html manuals, and spend several hours a day on the compie making cool webbies without anyone question how sane you are. Sounds like bliss to me.

Chani, what do you do as a job? I want to have some idea of what I want to be. I know I want to do something with computers. I love working with what html I do know and playing around with stuff. I also want to write a book, ut not be a full time author. That is, as DD said, not something that'll pay off. Journalism is pretty neat though.

      Gryphon...

Hmm... what do I do for a living?

All work and no pay... that is what you call housework. 'Course, I am the full time waiter, nurse, problem solver, cook, housekeeper, book keeper, chief financial officer, secretary, accountant, artist, shopper, receptionist, best friend and confidant of 3 boys and a man. I do work part time (2 nights a week normally and 1 night during the summer) for Young Champions of America. They teach Karate, Pom and Cheer and Baton Twirling. I am the Karate secretary for my kids' Sensei and I do get paid a very miniscule amount. <laughing>

I do everything, other than bringing in the giant's share of the money. That falls to the "man" who is a Network Administrator for a local Potato Chip company called Poore Brothers, Inc. (They are kettle chips and very good.) They also produce the Crunch Toons and Scooby Doo Snacks and my favorite, TGI Friday's Tato Skins.

In college I majored in English Lit. and was going to become a teacher, but my first son sorta interupted my plans. I miss college, but I have never regretted being a stay-at-home mom. (Of course, ask me tomorrow when they are driving me crazy and I may revise that.)

If you really love computers, that is a great field to go into. Just about everything (including toasters) have micro-chips built into them. Also, at least in my city, the medical field is in need of nurses, doctors, radiologists...etc. Also, if you love special-needs kids, there is a great need for teachers.

hehehe... I had a dream once where I was at a party or something, and it was kinda formal, and yeah... the house had the layout of my grandma's house. And then all of a sudden we 'knew' that there was a evil sorceress chick upstairs (was there, is there OR is going to be there... the time was always like that), and a lot of people ran... And then Alastair turned out to be a fallen angel (in black robes with black wings and a black sword... he looked very good), and went upstair to seek out a battle with the evil sorceress chick, and went upstairs because there was this crystal thing I had that I could not let her get (it was like a power crystal or something), but I didn't remember where I put it... So I ran around upstairs looking for it, but I wouldn't go in this one room because I had had a dream she was there, but of course I can't find it, so I have to go in there, and I'm terrified, and Alastair's in there hiding under a blanket (which he manages to make look like a pile of blankets), and he hisses at me that she's coming and drags me under the blanket with him and we wait, and then I remember where the crystal is and I lunge for it, and she shows up and they start fighting...

        Yeah. I have weird dreams.

o.O I'll never be a stay-at-home mother... o.O I've got a big pride complex and I need to feel really useful, IE, I need to be working making money to feel like I'm worth something... ^^ Yeah.

I used to think that until my first son was born. I think that most of what I thought to be important, before that moment, changed dramatically for me. I can't describe it.. I have a feeling that it is something that has to be experienced.

By the way, I am not here to convince anyone to stay home with their children. I certainly doubt that such a life is for everyone. It takes a certain drive, will, and personality to commit to a very long amount of time spent cleaning up after a few tornados. But, the rewards for me far outweigh the problems encountered. Hmm... kinda like a rose. Beautiful and the smell, heavenly... but watch out for those thorns. Makes me wonder why, even though people know of the pain a thorn brings, they still love roses. It is how I feel about the job I do... I know full well the grand disappointments and challenges.... I do it for the surprize moments of awesome wonder. I would never deprive myself of those moments... but that is me.

Yeah, I have a pride complex.

I think that NOT working would be a reflection of.... I don't know. I'm a person that has to be able to support myself. XD That's why I work myself as hard as I do in school... I can't stand not to, it's a matter of pride.

One night, I had a dream that I was having tea with James Grint. It was awkward and the tea pots were shaped like shoes.

Another night, I had a dream that Emily was riding on a motercycle with this guy with green hair. It was weird.

And staying on the topic of dreams, did you know that it is not possible for someone to dream when they sleepwalk? Dreaming causes natural muscle paralisis. When you sleep walk, you get images from your subconcious memories and thoughts.

I also think that dreaming comes from either subconcious thoughts/memories or premonitions.

Has anyone here ever had a flying dream? I had one and it was awesome. I also had a dream that I was riding a hang glider.

You can sleepwalk, you just don't DREAM while you sleepwalk.

This might be too stupid of a question, but there's something I don't understand. How can you sleepwalk without falling down? Aren't you actually mostly awake?

Once, when a grownup I know was a teenager, he sleepwalked all the way outside to his front yard by the sidewalk and fell asleep in his boxers! The whole neighborhood saw! haha

But technically aren't you dreaming while your sleepwalking? My dad's sleptwalked A LOT and it seems like he's dreaming... One time he walked out into the hallway and said he was going to the Nort Pole... lol.

Some reason I find that really amusing. Lesse if I can remember last night's dream... Naw. I was too tired after playing Flash light tag. But the night before I watched a bit of the Return of the King before going to bed. My grandparents were watching it.

Heh. Civil war LOTR style was my dream that night. And guess what we were learning in history?

If I dreamt anything, it probably involved Harry Potter and the OoTP. Simply because I was up until 1:30 finishing it. That was very important.

I just remember dreams that wake me up because they are very traumatizing. Like when I dreamt the kid across the street shot me, and I had a hole in my stomach like that chick in the movie that I can't remember the name of. That was scary.

Ooh! Yeah! That one! And Erith as in a form of Erin as in what the early Irish (Milesians) called earth. You do your research paper on the blending of Christian and Irish culture and you learn some weird things. I am also not very sure that she appreciated me using AWA as a source text, but considering how obscurred Irish history is already, I'm thinking that it didn't matter too much.
