  • Have you ever had a number curse?

Have you ever had weeks, where the same number just keeps popping up in random places? For a year, with me, it was 312. first it was my house number, friend's classroom number, part of a library card number, favorite page number, and other random things, like street signs. Now, the number is 262, ever since i read page 262 of W@W, it has been popping up everywhere! Anyone have similar cases?

not really, sorry...unless i want the number to appear often. or i'm doing math, where we often use the same numbers for triangles again and again and again when it comes to doing right traingles...some where EVERY angle is always the same, and the sides are different.
    I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
For those of you who don't recognize WHO'S back, I'll give you a hint, and I don't mean the typo's in my posts - YR.

I have had a similar problem but with the # 9. I don't know why but I see it everywhere. I can look at something totaly unrelated and see 9.

You are under a Math Curse. This causes you to be adversely affected by numbers everywhere you go.

Break it by reading a kid's book: Math Curse, by Jon Scieska. Here you will find the cure.

I keep seeing 911, which freaks me out sometimes until I remind myself it's no big deal.
And the Dragon's song, so wild and strong,
Fell from the sky like rain
Upon my soul; which, watered well,
Bloomed with a joy no words can tell
Where once was a dusty plain.

I can't remember any specific time that this has happened to me, but I know it has.

I wanted to mention a small tidbit I heard about a new movie. It's "The Number 23", a Jim Carrey movie. (IMDB says: A man (Carrey) becomes obsessed with a book that appears to be based on his life but ends with a murder that has yet to happen in real life.) I was talking to my sister the other day, and she said that there was some kind of weird rumor about the movie. That like during production the number 23 kept coming up a LOT. One of the examples she used was that it was the 23rd movie the director made. (Or something like that) There may be some info about this on a website somewhere, but I haven't looked into it yet. (And I really want to see the movie...I had an idea like that for one of my stories a long time ago, but never really got into it...and of course NOW it has to be a movie *grumbles*)

it's all in your mind. Read a little bit of skeptic books and you'll find out. Oh, I'm cursed with the number 13. It's all in my mind, too.

Yeah, the number thing happens to me a lot. i think the latest one for me was the number 14. It was weird, but I agree with Char; it's not that they're stalking us, it's that we just don't notice the rest.

The book Math Curse is awesome. XD Read it.

A series of books called Illuminatus, published in the 70s I think, had a main character discovering that the numbers 23 and 17 kept appearing suspiciously often.

It was eventually explained that the character was looking so hard for the numbers, he was overlooking any other numbers and only seeing those two.

personally, i think i'm spared the number curse just because i don't pay attention to numbers too often...now, start a topic about a deja vu curse and i'll join in full heartedly. :P

You mean like a "I know this passage" curse when reading a book for the first time, or recognizing places you've never been to? whichever one, i agree.

Yes! Now that you mention it! Everyday, a multiple of 3 between and 36 show up every time something strange happens. Except, I've realy never thought about it 'till now. That's strange.
