That sounds like the one here at the library. Okay, so it sounds EXACTLY like the one here at the library.Originally posted by worlebird:
I still remember the cover of the version of SYWTBAW that I read, and I believe it was the original edition. The picture features Kit standing in the street holding his anntanae/wand aloft, above a manhole, out of which Nita is emerging. She is carrying what I always assumed was the Bright Book, and they are both looking to the background, where we see the Lone Power on his six legged horse approaching surrounded by perytons.

Shanilyric- When's your birthday? You've replaced me as youngest on the site. I have only recently turned 12, my birthday's October 7.

I must be the third youngest person here. I turned thirteen on December 2. I found SYWTBW when I was about 11 and fell in love. Most people say I act older than I am and they are always shocked to learn that I am so young.

With Shanilyric, EWizard11, and Sandrilyssa going for "youngest", I might as well stake my claim for the other end of the spectrum. So far I'm the oldest one to post in this thread, having been born in February, 1966 (that's currently 37, for those who don't do the math). I am actually old enough (barely) to remember watching the live TV broadcast of Armstrong walking on the moon. In spite of my age, though, I know I'll never really be a "Grown-Up" because 1. I don't drink (alcohol, that is), 2. I don't smoke, and 3. I can't stand coffee. You know, all those things they say you're not supposed to do until you're an adult. Even with most mirrors forcing me to admit that my hairline is the only part of me beginning to resemble Sean Connery, in my head I still feel like I'm about fifteen.

Did you have to walk to school when you were a kid, and was it uphill both ways?
That's the litmus test. if you can say yes to that, you're definitely an adult, regardless of your consuption of the various adult self-contaminations.
Yes, alright, I'm partly kidding. but only partly.

Oh, my young Jedi, you are now outranked. I am 39 at last count, and I was age 5 watching Neil Armstrong make that first step on the moon from under the coffee table in our living room. I suspect kli6 may outrank me, however, as they/he/she contributed to ARPAnet, but I will leave disclosure to their own discretion.
I do drink coffee, but alcohol I can take or leave, mostly leave, as I do not find much alcohol tasty. And smoking is not an option for me, even if I wanted
, as my allergies attest.

OK, Rysade and meteorite both have good points (aside from meteorite out-ranking me age-wise), but you'll notice I did say "in this thread". And actually, Birdhead, I really can claim to have walked uphill both ways to school, sometimes, sort of. You see, I grew up living on a hill, and our house was halfway between the two nearest school-bus stops, so where to wait for the bus was more or less a 50-50 decision each day. So even though I didn't walk to school (since that would have been about fifteen miles), some days I did walk uphill to one bus stop in the morning, and uphill from the other in the afternoon.
