Here's the deal... both Nita and Darryl notice that Ponch has some interesting ability (besides the non-typical transits)...

I think it was worded that Ponch can "see" more of something or whatever.

Plus, when Darryl made eye contact with Nita, Kit, and Ponch at the end, Ponch didn't stagger at all.

Speculations on what Ponch can do, or even what Ponch "is"?

Since DD says she has at least a couple more books on tap for the YW series, I expect there will be further explication of Ponch's developing abilities. There are canine Wizards, after all, but I don't know what the timeline/qualifications might be for that...

Do you think he could be a Dominion? (it seems DD got the splinter Orders from the classes of angels *which include Thrones and w/e*)

I mean Dominions are supposed to be guardian-angellike, I don't think Ponch could ever let Kit get hurt...

Oooh.... what's a Throne in the angle clsasses? Because my personal favourite idea is throne- because throne implies a reign of some description, which could explain Ponch's suddne "influence" with the other dogs.

Ok, this is just an idea i'm throwing out into the open. Do you think it's possible that he could be one of the Powers and not know it? I mean, maybe since he's been able to do the transit a diffrent way. Plus, there's been a lot of leakage in Kit's house, which could mean that he's doing something weird without knowing it... Hrm.

I think if he was a Power, he would know it. It doesn't seem like the kind of thing it would be possible not to know. And the idea of him being an actual conscious power just seems incongruous (Arg. Sp?) To me with what we know of his character and abilities... interesting idea, though.

Biddy did mention that taking on a mortal (or semi-mortal?) body imposed certain... restrictions. I'd imagine there to be more of them at the beginning if one started off mortal life as a baby -- could being a Power be something one might only know about part of the time?

Of course, it IS a little mind-boggling to think of one of the Powers that Be burying bones between yellowjacket nests. On the other hand, we know one of them used to swear, sing Gilbert and Sullivan, and bite people a lot....

Yeah, but the thing about Peach was, whatever she was she was infinitely clued-in. Ponch, by contrast, is often clueless- not a character trait you associate with the omniscient.
yeah, i think that's why I don't like the Ponch-isPower thing: he's very... straightforward? No...
...uncomplicated? Well, yes, but no...
...human? Kinda... but Peach was human. The Powers are humn, only more so. I suppose that's what;as lacking in Ponch. And think of Biddy. And Ronan. They had.. not an air of difference.
Self possesion. They were all very sel possesed, and Ponch wasn't. Biddywas confused and everything, but still... centered, perhaps. in herself. IMNSHO, anyway...

Ponch is awesome. Look, he's a dog that can go to other universes! Being around Kit has got to have something to do with Ponch's abilities, but not all of what's happening...
Ponch will definetly have a big part to play in upcoming books. I'm sure.

There are canine wizards... what do dogs say about how they perceive the Powers and wizardry? That might help get a handle on what Ponch is developing into.

I personally think Ponch is becoming a wizard...but i could be wrong.It's strange why his powers would develop like tt before he actually takes the Oath,but then,we don't noe how it works for canine wizards. Maybe he'll become a wizard and an official errantry partner of Kit's.

Ponch a wizard. Now that would be interesting... Personally, I think that he merely has a very strange gift, like Tom and Carl's dogs. That doesn't necessarily mean they're wizards.

Ponch doesn't seem to need a worldgate to go places. I know most of the other worldgates are fixed, but what if Ponch is becoming a worldgate? But that doesn't address his ability to seemingly create new pocket universes... more thought required.
