Ponch avoids telling Kit his real name. Now, I don't know if that actually _does_ mean anything or not, but it seems pretty promising, no?

I think Ponch was just a dog, and that is his name. I don't think he's a Power pretending to be a dog.

Darryl referred to what Ponch was becoming, not what he was. I recognize you -- what you're becoming. And obviously, he can create new universes (can Kit do that when Ponch isn't with him?).

So I think Ponch is going to be a new Power, not one of the existing ones. (Drastic, hmmm?)

Although both are very interesting theories, I don't think Ponch is a wizard and I don't think he's a Power. I have a feeling that he may be some new type of entity we have yet to learn about.
And, yes, the name quote is intriguing, and I think it means something. Note that Ponch did not insist, "You named me that, so that's my name." He says, "I don't mind the name you gave me...I use that. It says who I am." So, no, I don't believe it's his real name. Whatever his real name is he may or may not even know himself.

Although, what Peter said about Ponch becoming a new Power may be closer to the truth...maybe an "uncorrupted" being, because he wasn't there at the time of the original casting out; someone who will play a major role in initiating some upcoming change.

...or something.

bradwart: I don't think Ponch is possesed by the Lone Power because he don't have the guile to be so. He loves Kit and would protect him always. However, I like the idea of Ponch becoming a new Power solely because of Darryl's comment of what he is becoming. Perhaps, Ponch will become a new Power in Wizards at War and &lt;spoiler <span class="ev_code_WHITE">will help fight off the dark matter. Without a Power on their side, the wizards will probably lose.</span> spoiler&gt;

I was reading the feline wizard books this week (for the 10th time) and Just sudenly thogught of something.........There are wizards that are cats but there was also mention of dogs that where wizards to!!! We never meant one BUT would they not know about Ponch??? Being one of there own speices would they not be interested in the developements that have been happening!!! In fact could Ponch be becoming a canine wizard!!! A powerful one at that!

Hmm...I've only read these books once (yet..)...but maybe thats how BC/GSD's (or is he half lab?) are when they're around wizards....? The BC's are rather...odd...dogs under normal circumstances...

I think that the idea of Ponch becoming a power is farfetched. Of course, so is the one with Peach. Is there any mention of new powers just randomly being created? I know that powers can inhabit premade bodies, but for new powers to just arise seems like an odd idea. Is this mentioned anywhere?

I think Ponch is just an effect of magic leakage from Kit, and not a whole lot more. What Daryl says is interesting. So while Ponch may not be becoming a power, he could be becoming some kind of protective, creative, wizard-ish being.

Was where the magic was leaking from that was attracting the Dogs in AWH ever decided as to where it was coming from? I kinda figured it was the TV, but if it's a leakage from Ponch...

Do you know what the last book is going to be called? I'm Guessing that in the next or the next after the 8th one someone the charachters love is going to die but more important to the story then Nitas mother.

Ahem. Two things:

(a) The YW series emphatically will not end with Wizards at War. One story arc which has been developing may reach something that looks like a conclusion during that book, but at least one other and possibly two others will open up. [snip] To that end, at least three more books in the series are planned after WAW;

-- That's DD's comment. The title of the book to follow Wizards at War is, I think, A Wizard of or On Mars. Or maybe I just dreamed that. *scratches head* Someone else will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure. Anyway, it won't be the last book. happily. you can check out her full post here.

Er, and, I've been forced into this by the fact that there were really basic spelling and grammar errors in all of the last three posts... I know I do them too, but if no-one points them out they'll never get fixed. It's my duty! Thus:

-Guessing doesn't really need a capital. But that's probably okay because random caps are fun and you may have been implying an emphasis on guess or something.
-characters
-than, not then: then is as in time (Nita went to school and then she came home again) and than is what you use when you're comparing (The person I think will die will be more important than Mrs. Callahan
-Nita's mother. Nitas is what you'd use if you were counting; one Nita, two Nitas, three Nitas, four! The apostrophe shows possessive.

...which brings us right into the next point: it should be Wizards at War, not wizard's. *grins* For precisely the reverse of what I just said: here we're talking about many wizards who are all at war, as opposed to one person named Wizard who is at war (Where is Wizard? He's at war. See Wizard War.. er... ) Here of course the apostrophe shows there's a missing letter: Wizard (i)s at War.

Kit and Nita both have capital letters (I lower-case them ALL THE TIME, it's such a pain, and I never notice it.) And *picks at typo* Maybe Carmela will become a wizard.

Oh, and a full stop or period at the end of "too much" would be good. It's an easy bit of punctuation to learn, full stops.

Thankyou, Tui. I fell like I am back in school. I can't spell worth anything. My little brother, he's 11, can spell 10 times better than me.

Mela die on her ordeal? Hmmm.......... Nah! I don't even think she will actualy take the oath. She might be of some wizardly help in the future, but not become a wizard.
