I just looked through part of TBoNWM, and found the name of one dog-wizard; Rraah, who I assume is a Senior, though it didn't actually say that.

Sharklord don't forget that as wizards get older they loss power But in a way the magic they do do is VERY powerful! So becasue Arhu is a new wizard he would have lots of magic but at less power (if that makes sense!) But as Rraah is a senior wizard he is more powerful! I would still like to see though a Dog wizard visit Ponch and tell him a few facts!!hahahah maybe Ponch could track down his Mum and dad!! kidding, ooooooooooooo I just thought. Ponch's breeding has ALWAYS been a subject of descussion in the book between Nita and Kit!! Maybe there is something in Ponch's breeding that would explain his talents!! Maybe he is not 100% dog! I mean in Harry Pooter Crookshankes is a crossbreed!!

Hmmm...That could make for a very interesting storyline. You know how DD was saying that one story arch was coming to an end, but several more would be discovered? Maybe the origins of Ponch and the use of his Finding skills will drive the next couple of stories!

I don't like Perytons. They're really kind of freaky. They have the soul of a human so they aren't just like wild dogs which can be tamed. But they have body and main thought proceses of a weredog (werewolf+dog), so they aren't anywhere near human. They sort of give me the creeps...

Oh, and also I get what you were trying to say, Fox. A new wizard has an immense amount of power (compared to an older one) because a new wizard hasn't bought into the fact that he/she might not be able to do something (Darine making a spear out of raw starfire.) An older wizard has less raw power to work with, but he/she has much more experience and is more able to use that power efficently and effectively. Like, say, a sledgehammer to a scapel (or something like that...).

Sharklord I'm glade you liked my idea (one of many), I really do believe that there is something specail about Ponch! But the only problem is DD has only mentioned a few other creatures, I mean we know the elves live!! But in another universe!! So one of the other possibliltes is that at some point in Ponch's blood line a power (and proberly a lesser one) has come back as a dog and breed!! Ponch could be the dog version of Ronan!!! hahahaha, I would rather though that there was another magical creature envolved!! so then Ponch would be a cross breed!! hahaha

Fox - No! Ponch can't be the dog version of Ronan! He's creepy. Besides, he stole Nita from Kit! Heh, not really of course.

Probably everything we can conjure up from our imaginations lives somewhere in some other universe. Remember, Darth Vader is out there somewhere! Tom(or was it Carl?) warned Nita's parents in High Wizardry that Darth Vader existed. Can't remember the exact wording though.

Sharklord - I don't think perytons are part dog. Dogs are man's best friend. Just look at Kit and Ponch! Perytons, on the other hand, are accursed werewolves who were so tainted with evil they haven't got anything to do except doom others, just like them. Now, a friendly peryton...that's scary.

Ahhh, but if they're werewolves, then they are dogs! (at least partly) Sometimes we don't like the connections we are forced to endure. Look at the link between cats and reptiles in BoNwM.

That would be wierd, Fox, if Ponch was decended from a cross breed with a Power. I'm not sure, because I haven't read AWAbroad lately, but does Ronan get his being inhabited by a power from being decended from somebody? Can power like that pass from parent to child? Will Matthew realize that Sally left him for another man and is setting him up for embarrasment by inviting him to meet her at the governor's ball? Will the heros from the Planetary Acquisitions team escape the menace of the stange alien force? All these questions will be answered at the release of WIZARDS AT WAR!!!

I was thinking AGAIN! That Ponch can find universes, right so in another universe somewhere there might be other dogs like Ponch. Hey maybe one of these special dogs came form that universe and had a relationship with a dog in this one! and Ponch is the result!! hahahah, thats stupid! So many possibilaties!!!!

I just wanted to bring this up even though I said I wasen't going to post here. If you look in DW and look at Ponch's vocab and actions, then look at it in WH. Odd, isn't it? This is what makes me think that his powers are coming from Kit.

Good Grief, Fox. Calm down. As for the cross breeding, I really don't know. Between the two ideas which you and nitafan211 just posted, I would have to go with nitafan's. It makes sense that magic leakage might have caused some sort of wizardly mutation in Ponch and that's why his powers are so strong.

True but firstly we don't know whats causing the wizardry leakage! It could be anything! I mean there is no firm facts that its because of Kit! What not saying that it someone else!!! I mean as far as I have been told and read there could be another wizard in Kit's house! Remeber wizards don't know if another family member is a wizard unless that wizard wants them to know! Like in WH. Kit has a big family! Maybe a younger sibling?

Kit's the youngest human, though, yes. Carmela's a couple of years older than him, and Helena seems to be about three years older than Carmela.

I really can't see any of the others being wizards. Surely his parents would have told him when he told them? Helena is horrified at the thought of wizardry, and we'd have noticed if Carmela was an active wizard rather than a rumour of a potential one.

True but maybe the parents don't know?! And maybe Helena was up set casue she thought she was the only family wizard!! No I see what you mean! Its very unlikly But we have an auntie on Nita's side so maybe an uncle or grandad on Kits?

But I'm still not convinced that the leakage is caused by Kit!

I meant that, if either Mr or Mrs Rodriguez were wizards, they'd have told Kit when he told them. So they would know if they were wizards. True, they might not know if Helena was a wizard.

I can't find it now, but I remember Helena's reaction being that Kit was in league with the Devil; maybe that's her way of pretending she doesn't know anything about wizardry and definitely isn't one, honestly; but I would have thought if Kit told her he was a wizard, she'd tell him she was one too.
