Well, Kit wouldn't have seen any of his family in the Manual, for the same reason that Nita didn't see her aunt listed, even when she was staying in her house.

yeah thats the quote I was thinking about when I wrote my post! I don't think there is another wizard in the Immediate family but I would like to think that there's an antie or and uncle some where in his family thats a wizard! I remember we had a little family background for Nita's family (who was the wizards!) have we had anything on Kit's? I'm sure we have'ant!

Ohhhhh Yeahhhhh. I forgot all about that from AWAbroad. That's right. Maybe Fox is right. Didn't Nita have some sort of realative who was the mayor of New York and a wizard? Maybe Kit has someone who hasn't gotten word that Kit is a wizard, and therefore has never thought to reveal himself to him.

It was Nita's Dad's grandmother I think! I remember him saying something like when he was a little boy he walked into the room and she did not see him come in and then she disapeared!! Would be nice to meet someone on Kits side!!

Nita's descended from the first mayor of New York, as she learns in High Wizardry. (Google finds a page which says the mayor was Thomas Willett, 1665-1666.)

I googled for something to add to that, and found the following fascinating description on a webpage:
Diane Duane is a science fiction and fantasy, hung in the office of the deputy director of the US Geological Survey in Washington), desktop publishing, and fractals. She is trying to learn how to make more spare time.
And it must be true! Syntactic nonsense, but true.

No good. Still can't find it - I'm sure that it was an interview with DD about an ancestor of hers who was a NY mayor. Presumably he was James Duane, 1784-1789.

Pretty sure that was the guy she meant: she's mentioned him to me a couple of times. There are some more details here:

I think the distinction is that he's the first mayor of NY *after* the US War of Independence.

Wow. That entry mentions a town in New York State called Duanesburg, which another webpage locates near Schenectady.

They named a whole town after DD? (Oh, don't spoil it by saying it was the mayor.)

Ok, we're obviously in one of Ponch's created universes (he said, in a vain attempt to return to the topic).

Now, where did I see the interview which mentioned the mayor?

I wonder if Ponch would ever get confused about what the really universe is like!! I mean he is creating so many differant universes how does he keep track of the ones that are the originals??? Eowen. Don't be bringing any weak stuff to the tourament. I'd hate to have to have the McGray's beat down the Graysons. That would be *snickers* sad. But not unexpected.

Dwinnen forever!, Even though I'm NOT powerplaying. If I were, then in the middle of the deul, I'd immediately be able to tell that Firestorm or whoever was evil and stop him before he could even attempt to hurt anyone after putting into motion his insinous plot of getting into the army. All I can say is he better not bother Kerri, who's real life model I was very fond of. I would take an attack on her as an attack on me. Better not you, either. I'm the only one who's allowed to pick on you...
