Word has come down from DD's agent's office that the problems with the release of High Wizardry and A Wizard Alone have now been resolved.
As has been mentioned earlier, A Wizard Alone simply got omitted from the previous set of contract amendments that were intended to enable the publication of the ebooks. AWAL's amendment has now been signed, and the ebook can go into production. (ETA, Feb 5 2011: The book is still not online at Amazon or B&N, and DD is investigating this.)
More importantly, the rights issues that were delaying High Wizardry have also been resolved. The rights in question have been re-cleared with Warner Music (which handles rights issues for Steve Perry's music publishing company), and the book can now appear as an ebook as well as in its present print form. ETA, Feb 5 2011: As a result, the ebook is now available for US and Canadian purchasers at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Click here for the Kindle version and here for the Nook / ePub version.
Purchasers outside of the US and Canada, please note: B&N and Amazon will not allow you to buy these ebooks. However, DD is bringing out international editions of all the ebooks under the "Errantry Press" ebook imprint, and these ebooks can be purchased by everybody but US and Canadian residents. The international editions of HIGH WIZARDRY and A WIZARD ALONE will become available via Amazon's Kindle Shop and the store at DianeDuane.com during February 2011. (Unfortunately they will not be available at B&N due to restrictions on publishers based outside of the US. ePub users, however, will be able to get the ePub / Nook-friendly versions from the DD.com shop.)
