    Hey, those are very handsome!

Re: a place for fanart on the site: This is something I've been considering for a long time, but there didn't seem to be any, so I didn't do anything about it. In retrospect, though, maybe I should just have Built It and seen if It Came, if you follow me.

It would be quite easy for Lee to set aside part of yw.net's FTP space to store fanart, and an "access page" so that people can view it / link to it. (This would also solve the "intermittent hosting" problem, as I plan to have this site be here for a good while.) I'll ask her to start sorting this out.

Meanwhile, it's also quite simple (and I can do this myself) to start a separate "Fanart" topic under the "Playroom" category. I'll take care of that now, and move this thread down to it to get the ball rolling.

      Thank you!

Ummm.... DD, you wouldn't mind if I do do a manga/comic-ization of an exerpt, would you? I'm not going to try and make money off of it or anything, just put in some practice and do a fun project that I don't have to do much scripting for, aside from planning panels and suchlike *is lazy*. Just to make sure...

Birdhead--I did the sword like that because I can't shade black metal . Who's Segnbora?

Segnbora is one of the main characters in the Tale of the Five, which is an as-yet uncomplete fantasy... I think it's a quartet... by DD. She's very cool.

Ah. I see. *curses local Barnes and Nobles that only stocks DD's YW-related books, except Stealing the Elf King's Roses--ONCE. And they don't have The Sandman, either. And only about half of the Discworld series. And... muttermuttermutter*

Oh man, that sucks. I know how it is- as far as I can find, none of our bookstores stock anything. I get them all through the library, bless the system...

Yeah, that's a good idea, huh?

'Cept my local public library has a tendancy to stock fantasy in paperback, and paperbacks are never organized . They have about sixteen of the little rolly-shelf things (you know, the cylindrical ones that spin rather stiffly?) spaced out throughout the premesis (sp?). I'm not sure I've found all of them. And I don't know where the fantasy section is, except in Juvenile, which means I'll be able to find YW perfectly fine (although I think they were missing a few last I checked), but everything else is labeled for older readers... unless I'm mistaken. Which is quite likely, considering how scatter-brained I am between projects...

Yeesh, I've been complaining a lot lately, huh?

Yeah I can totally empathize with the bookstore problem. Can't stand that!

I like all the pictures I've seen in this forum. (Though Poot confused me, as I haven't been reading these for long.)

However, I can't see the chimaera picture, for some reason . Has it been removed? I tried two different web browsers without success.

Okay Petey (Sorry I can't help myself)
Time to explain Poot to you. Poot is a British (? ) swear word, one of the ones we are allowed to use on this forum. (If you have seen Lee's warning we can't use any swear word stronger than dang.)

Anyways we decided to make a demon of the forums, someone who makes us do 1 liners. (If you do a 1 lined post it's bad because the author Diane Duane pays for this forum and the more posts we make costs her money so 1liners are a waste of money.)
So we decided to name our demon Poot and we say "Poot's got us again." when we make 1 liners.

To add to Z-girl's lovely explaination: No, Poot has nothing to do with Poot the pink blob in the tupperware. I nicknamed him Poot after Putas, the angel of oblivion, before I realized the connection T.T....

...and this is a Poot-y post, isn't it?

Nice picture. If I tried to draw fanart, I'd have to give up and use a 3D program to do it. My drawings are too stiff, even if I can get a likeness (which is very occasional).

                          Thank you ^.^

...although I can't get any of the computer-generators to work, myself--not even TerraGen, which is supposed to be fairly simple (as the title suggests, it makes landscapes, seascapes, and sky/spacescapes). Meh... all the little numbers and vectors and complicated questions confuse me ....

Poot isn't really a British swearword, I don't think. Or at least not one one uses in public, or with pride. that poot thing was actually, I think, a conection made after the creation and naming of Poot, when a couple of people remarked that it was also one of the words used by Agnes Nitt (Of Maskerade, Carpe Jugulum both by Terry pratchett. Hilarious.)

*bump* I was just re-reading this, for absolutely no reason, and I was clicking on all the fanartses... anyway, I just wanted to repeat that I LOVE Semi's supposedly "old, crappy" Dairine. <3!!

                                heh... thanks XD

I'm actually fine with the composition and concept of that picture... it's just that there's a whole plethora of mechanical/anatomical/etc.-type complaints I have about it now.

(which is really annoying, because that happens to just about every picture I let sit for more than a month... T.T...)
